Some lives end unfinished, and some transcend time. After a horrific incident, Swayze finds herself trapped between two lives. Patchy memories and fear for her own safety thrust her into a gut-wrenching journey to uncover the truth. Will she let her dreams slip away to seek retribution and find the missing pieces to a puzzle that existed a lifetime ago? “I’m not going to watch you self-destruct. … to watch you self-destruct. I’m not going to watch you fall in love with another man.”
Or will she discover the only truth that matters?
Epoch pushes the boundaries of what we believe and what we know. It redefines fate and proves that the only thing separating the heart and the soul is an infinite timeline.
“I think a part of you will be mine to love in every life.”

This was such an intense and heartbreaking story. I loved how the author presented the reincarnation theme. I think that if reincarnation really does exist, and I don’t doubt it does, this would be the way it would happen. Loved the thought about incomplete lives! I loved the book and read it with my heart beating hard at times because it was so heartfelt and emotional.
All the Epic Stars!!!
Breathless. Heart aching. Speechless. I don’t know how to move on.
After reading Transcend, I had no idea where Epoch would take me . Id sit and think about it—anxiously awaiting release day—maybe this would happen, maybe that would happen.
What an incredible feeling to lose yourself in a book and never want to come out. This series captivated me and I’m still thinking about it.
I held my breath the entire book not knowing where it would lead. My bestie held my hand the entire time and I thank god that I had her with me or I wouldn’t have survived. Crying ugly tears, my stomach in knots, but worth every ounce of pain I suffered.
After finishing the last page of Epoch, I just thought to myself what a genius Jewel E. Ann is to create such a brilliant, emotional duet that I will never forget.
These characters will stay with me forever. Just perfection!!!
Epoch is the conclusion to Transcend. Its not your typical love triangle. Swayze is torn between two lives and two loves. Griffen the love of her life and Nate the love of a past life. She must figure out the past before she can move forward. Her story is heart breaking and filled with angst. This story lead me to believe that fate will take you to where you are suppose to be, when you are suppose to be there.
“Some things last forever. What if the connection we have transcends time?”

The most beautiful stories are the hardest to review. I can easily say, “BUY THIS BOOK BECAUSE IT’S AMAZING!!!” but I won’t do that because Jewel E. Ann and her story deserve so much more. I believe that whatever I say won’t ever be worthy, still, I will try.
Epoch is the conclusion to Ann’s heart-stopping and mind-blowing book, Transcend. The uniqueness and beauty of these books are beyond words. The author was able to keep her characters very realistic and relatable while keeping their story extraordinary.
While Transcend was about the beauty of love, Epoch touches the darker and rougher side of it. It’s about jealousy, great sacrifices, and finding one’s self.
My heart hurt for every character and it melts while witnessing one of the most beautiful love stories ever written. Epoch surely pushes both its readers and characters to their limits. BUT I swear to all the book gods, the pain you will go through is all worth it. Savor the ride, my friends. Swayze, Griff, and Nate won’t make this journey easy for you but they will surely make your heart feel so alive.
The Transcend duet is thrilling, heartbreaking, and phenomenal all rolled into one. It will make you believe that some things last forever and those are the most magical moments in our lives. They may not be tangible, but they’re there.
Jewel E. Ann, you have a piece of my heart I won’t ever get back. Thank you so much for the epicness you share with us.
6 Amazing Stars!
It’s been days since I finished Epoch and I was left with a book hangover of such magnitude that I honestly felt as if I had been eviscerated and left hollow; a walking, talking shell, for days afterwards. This amazing and profound story is simply incredible and the writing had me in awe from start to finish. And oh gawd, the feels! Every. Single. One that exists will be felt in Epoch.
I know there are readers who won’t go near an angsty romance and they’re doing a disservice to themselves by not reading the Transcend Duet and experiencing it. I keep saying I’m going to make a list of my favorite book couples and I know, without a doubt, Griffin and Swayze will be my number one #FavoriteBookCouples, ever! I’m convinced Ms. Ann sold her soul to the Devil in exchange for her incredible talent of spinning tales her readers will never forget. There’s just no other explanation for it! Her characters are so brutally honest and real; it’s like we’re peeking in a window and watching their story evolve; in living color and actual time. I’m counting this amazing Duet as one book and it is my #1TopRead of 2018.
“E-P-O-C-H. It’s a memorable event or period in time”
Swayze knows she’s Daisy, or was rather, and her death wasn’t an accident. She’s had to explain this to her mother and Griffin still isn’t totally convinced, but puts on a good act.
“I’m asking you to believe me. People pack sanctuaries every Sunday to worship God. They can’t prove he exists. I have way more proof that I was Morgan Daisy Gallagher in another life than anyone has that God truly exists.”
She’s also convinced Doug Mann had something to do with her death. Now, if she had a way to prove it, or at least convince Griffin and Nate that what she feels, deep to her soul, is the truth maybe they could go to the police. When she’s referred to Dr. Albright, Nate’s old college professor and who believes in reincarnation, she wants to be hypnotized in hopes of recalling more details that might help put Doug Mann away for that murder and who knows how many more.
“Griffins are mythical creatures—half eagle, and half lion. They are believed to be loyal and protective of treasures and priceless possessions.
What were the chances of finding a grocery store guy and a Griffin?
Well done, Fate. Well done.”
Griffin doesn’t like the idea, afraid she’ll remember what she felt for Nate, and this puts their relationship on a spin heading to what can only be heartbreak.
“I said I would protect you. I promised to keep you safe. You were my world, even if I wasn’t yours.”
Nate is supportive of going under hypnosis, at first, but is also fearful of what she might “see” and be traumatized by it. And as much as it hurts him to admit it, his friend Daisy died and Swayze needs to live her own life.
“I don’t need you to love me back…in this lifetime.”
And poor Swayze! I felt she was torn in half at times, not knowing which way to lean, and feeling she had a mission to accomplish or at least find justice for Daisy. Even if it meant losing everything and everyone she loved. And then there’s pesky Fate that loves to mess with Swayze.
I.Am.Speechless.
I don’t even know that I can write a review that will do this book justice. If I thought I wasn’t prepared for my emotions to be all over the place while reading Transcend Epoch took it to a whole new level. The anticipation for this sequel was huge for me! Going in I was a big ball of nerves, excited, scared but once I started I let that all go and trusted that Jewel would once again take me on a crazy emotional rollercoaster and that in the end all would be the way it should. But WOW what a ride! It was not an easy road to get to the eventual outcome but the best stories never are. I laughed, I cried, I was happy one minute, angry the next I love these characters but boy did they put my heart through the ringer.
Epoch was everything I hoped it would be and yet so much more. This is one story that will stay with me for a long time!
I knew this was going to be a hard book for me to read after Transcend. That book emotionally crippled me in a way I’ll never forget. I needed this part of the story like I need air to breathe.
I simply had to find out what lay in store for these characters so I could have some sort of closure for them and myself.
I went into this book with an open mind and heart. I knew how I wanted it to go but I was prepared to let the Author take me where the story needed to go, if that makes sense.
This Duet has exceeded any expectations I had for it. It was so brutally painful to read at times that my heart physically hurt.
I was completely swept away with the lives of Swayze, Griffin and Nathaniel.
This story took some surprising twists I didn’t expect. But they were necessary for the story to come full circle.
The impossible seems possible after reading this Duet.
Such a beautiful story that touched me in ways I didn’t think any book would manage. Then again I’ve never read a story quite like this one.
Thank you Jewel E Ann for an amazing beautiful journey that not only captured my heart but my soul along the way.
I loved it with every fiber of my being.
This book is Epoch, book 2 of the Transcend duet, written by Jewel E Ann. Wow! This story will make you laugh, make you smile, rip your heart out and grind it into oblivion. Jewel E Ann is the kind of author that will leave you ugly crying for hours on end and then have you thank her for the pain. This book has wrecked me and now I need some recovery time. I was praying for the best possible ending and you will have to decide if it’s the best possible ending for your heart. So thank you for killing me, stabbing me, running me over with a truck and then grinding me to pulp. I loved the journey. I loved the characters. I loved the story. I loved that you were able to breathe life back into my heart. Thank you Jewel. Just. Thank. You.
This book took me on an adventure. I haven’t balled my eyes out and felt so much while reading in a long time. I am completely in love with this story. Love and fate will find a way.
I’ll admit to it right off the bat. I don’t know how to review this book. I just don’t have the words, which is one of the reasons I’m a reader, not an author.
And after this duet, I don’t know if I’d call Jewel just an author. I think there must be a better, more descriptive name for a writer with her talent. I think I’m going to go with “word crafts-woman”. With this duet – Transcend & Epoch – Jewel has outdone every other books she’s ever written. She sucked you in, made you care about every single character (well, except for one), broke your heart over and over again, made you mad as heck over and over again, made you fall in love over and over again, and at the end, made you grateful you were privileged enough to read her words.
I don’t know how she’s going to outdo this duet but I’m sticking around to find out. Jewel just went to the top of my “don’t even read the blurb, don’t even look at the cover, just one click” author list.
Grab your copy of this duet now and find out for yourself what I’m talking about
There are no words to put into place to describe the enormity of the wonderfulness of this book. I’ve read thousands of books and it, and only one other in all that time, have made me feel so hard and been so amazing that I feel like I’m altered in some way.
This duet will remain a life long favorite…READ IT!
This story. ~sigh~ Epoch is the most phenomenal end to the Transcend duet. I fell more in love with these flawed, beautiful characters in the second half. I laughed, I gasped, I swooned, and I cried. Man, did I cry! This story brought about every flavor of tears possible and when I turned the last page I felt utter contentment with where Jewel left these characters and their stories. This book moved me more than any has since JEA’s Jack and Jill series. If you like a smoldering love story filled with angst and suspense then hit that one-click and dive in! Five amazing stars. This is THE read of 2018 for me and I recommend it enthusiastically. I’m just sad I can’t discuss it with everyone that reads it. Yes, it is THAT good!
After reading Transcend, I couldn’t wait to dive right into Epoch. I had been left with so many questions. In Epoch, JEA answers some questions and maybe throws in a few more twists to keep our hearts pounding.
“I have been here many times before. Not this body … but somewhere in my mind the memory has transcended time,”
This book is an emotional roller coaster. I felt like I was flipping pages and just along for the ride as the story pulled me along with the force of a whirlwind.
“We can uncover the past together. And when one of us breaks, the other one will know how to glue all the pieces back into place.”
Gorgeous writing makes this story bigger than life. The words clung to me even when the book was closed and all I could think about were these characters and the choices they would have to make.
“There’s no way for this to end without me giving up a piece of myself, without me saying goodbye to part of my shattered heart.”
Epoch is Such an Amazing journey and this author ultimately gives us such a beautiful story and maybe more definitions for what Love is and can be!
4.5 “epic feelings” stars.
I’m not going to talk about the storyline because you just need to read this duet and let it all unfold. It does deal with reincarnation to a certain extent but not in a “whoa, this is a paranormal story” type way.
What I will tell you is how this book made me feel. It made me smile and pages later it made me cringe. It made me happy and then minutes later it made me sad. It made my stomach hurt at times because it’s horrible when two people are so right for each other but there is something that’s between them causing them both to hurt, therefore I hurt with them. It made me question what I believe, what I think I know. I’m a person of science but I am open, open to possibilities and this book puts forth a lot of possibilities and it’s wonderful when a book makes you think outside the box, push boundaries, ponder the unknown. It made me pause and wonder what would I do if in the heroines shoes, because there are two choices here and both seem right, both seem acceptable. If you’re looking for a duet to make you feel the whole spectrum of emotions you’ve found it. It was a heck of a journey and my favorite duet of 2018.
5 HEART GRABBING STARS!! This is the second book in the Transcend Duet and it will reach in and grab your heart. Jewel E. Ann writes these beautiful stories that come to life as you read them, they engrave themselves on your heart forever. Get ready for one gut wrenching ride with Swayze, Griffin and Nate. The ride will hit all your emotion buttons and you will never want it to end. Jewel E. Ann is one of my top authors and always brings a new original story into my life. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This is the second book of this amazing duet and you must read book one, Transcend, first.
I’m just lost for words, Jewel E. Ann has been a favourite author of mine for some time and if she hadn’t been this duet would of put her to the top of my list alone. Her writing style and way with words are mesmerising, her characters are enchanting and so real you feel their every emotion but this duet takes things to a new level.
Epoch picks up from where we were left holding our breath at the end of Transcend and immerses you right back into the triangular life of Swayze, Griffin and Nate. And you will drown in the intensity of their story and the situation Swayze is in. I’ve never been so conflicted over characters in a book, never wanted them all to be the right one for each other so much. I didn’t want anyone to get hurt so it was an emotional read to say the least and so hard to guess which way the author would take us.
This duet is a must read, it will make you question so much about your beliefs without you realising. Go in blind, open minded and just let the author tell you her story without trying to second guess anything. You will be taken on an amazing journey packed with every emotion that you can feel, it will bounce you about but the ending..sigh..the ending will be worth it all.
Bravo Jewel on such a beautifully delivered epic story.
Epoch is a truly EPIC conclusion to Jewel E. Ann’s mind-bending Transcend Duet. This is an emotionally charged story of fate and a love that transcends time. The story picks up where book one, Transcend, ends.
Epoch is told primarily from the perspective of the main character, Swayze, but there are intermittent chapters narrated by Griffin and Nate. This is faster paced than book one, and it flows beautifully. I want to gush about the plot, and favorite quotes, but no one should read spoiler reviews before diving into this duet.
I alternated between loving and hating all the characters. I sympathized with the fragility of their hearts. I growled in frustration at their indecision and groaned about some of their choices. Jewel E. Ann consistently creates characters her readers can’t help but identify with and become invested in. This story of timeless love is a page-turner. Be prepared to add a couple new book boyfriends to your list.
I laughed, I loved, and I cried. What more could anyone want from a book?
“Chase happiness. Never settle. Fight for what you want, not what you think you deserve. Dream big…enough for two lifetimes”.
Nothing worth having is easily won, so be prepared to gut out the angst in order to be rewarded with the perfect ending and a serendipitous epilogue.
#MustRead2018
Stunning conclusion.
Profound, compelling and thought provoking story that is my favorite series of 2018!
Book one left me speechless!
I couldn’t wait to read Epoch to discover the direction the author took in concluding this series.
Flawless writing and characters, the author took me on an emotional journey that left me an emotional mess.
When life throws you curves and you find a book like Transcend and Epoch, it transforms your thinking. This was such an emotional and passionate story, and the real beauty of this book is that it will leave a different interpretation for everyone. For me it was about making peace with love, life and living, even when you think you can’t!
Epoch is one intense conclusion to the Transcend duet. But hey, this is Jewel E. Ann we’re talking about so it was just a matter of time before I would have to surrender my heart to her words. Again. And believe me, it was totally worth it. Again.
I will admit after the explosive ending to Transcend I perhaps expected that the story would continue on more rapid pace. But I found that it became almost deliberately slower as Swayze struggles to find her footing in both Griffin’s world and in Nate’s. This poor young woman is torn between her present life and one that threatens to smother her from within. It’s like she didn’t know what end was up most of the time and was practically losing her mind. I truly felt for her and I admire her strength to not give up. I’m not sure I could have done the same at her age.
The painful push and pull she suffered through with Griffin broke me. Just like it broke them. At times I didn’t want to watch as they couldn’t find a way out of the darkness that threatened to consume them both. It felt as if the author was deliberately making us suffer as the story took it’s time to unravel. My gut churning as the realization that Swayze may not get the happy she deserves or the resolution she so desperately needed.
But holy hell, that last 25 percent or so blew me away. And not just because some secrets are revealed or a great decision is made. On the contrary, it’s almost a bit anti-climactic and yet Jewel E. Ann uses that to her advantage. What we are left with is a most unusual albeit beautiful journey that has no beginning or end. Call it fate. Call it coincidence. I like to think it’s the true power of love. In every form. The love of family and friends and those who become a part of your life by happenstance. No matter how you want to describe it, it’s what we all need in this life.
This duet is a ride like no other and one that will have you scratching your head more than once. I admit I was perplexed and a bit upset at the direction it seemed to be driving towards. I cried a few times at the utter anguish that jumped off the pages of my Kindle. But I laughed too at the trademark wit that the author likes to bestow upon her heroines. And overall, I’m extremely satisfied with the ending and the extra little bit of magic Jewel E. Ann presents us in the form of an epilogue.
Epoch is well worth your time and deserves a solid 5 stars!
Here lies Britt, beloved book addict, taco enthusiast, and starter of shenanigans. Killed by Jewel E. Ann’s most epic of books. She was found clutching her kindle on the last page of Epoch. Stick a fork in me. I am done. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING can top the Journey this duet has taken me on. I honestly don’t know how I’m going to recover.
This isn’t even a book hangover, a book hangover implies I will eventually recover and move on. Transcend and Epoch will forever remain a part of me. I felt so much while reading this. Heartbreak, loss, anger, and love so epic not even time or death could end it. Despite my dramatics I’m still going to keep it vague because you have to experience this. Don’t go looking for spoilers, just get on this roller coaster and be prepared to lose your heart. Also pack tissues. Lots of tissues. And maybe a stress ball. This duet is so worth it.
