It was temptation that broke the sinner.People say I have everything. They’re wrong. I may have looks, money, and privilege, but I don’t have the one thing that really matters, the one thing I crave: a woman with eyes only for me. I’m searching for my woman—one who will fall to her knees because I’m her king. She’ll wear the crown of my tarnished name, and long for me when I’m not near. And when … I’m not near. And when I am close, she’ll be naked across my lap, feeling the sting of my palm across her milky skin.
You could say I’m a sinner because I’d do anything to have the perfect woman—compliant to my every need and whim—and I’m envious of every couple who walks around naive to the luxury they have.
That’s why I joined The Elite, the most prestigious brotherhood in the south.
It’s the one place that will give me what I cannot have.
Only…the task assigned to me is too much for my jealous eyes.
Accept your sin wisely, for the tasks given to earn your place are not for the weak…they’re for The Elite.

Who the heck is Sabastian?
Those who envy have no peace.
My name is Sabastian Westbrook.
I am ENVY
Envy was the first character in the series to live up to his sin. I’ve never seen someone so consumed with want and need and obsession in my life! Even now, at the end of his book, I don’t think he knows who he is or even learned his lesson. He’s conniving and manipulative and sneaky and clingy and charming and good looking and rich… and still so envious of others.
With Envy, I experienced one of those times when I can’t connect or like the character, but I was still able to enjoy the story. Sabastian lived up to some really unrealistic standards and lived his life on the edge. He was irreverent and lethal and no one said anything, but he had to be suffering from some sort of psychopathy.
“He’s super sweet, but I get this Ted Bundy feeling around him, you know?”
I’m sure it’s just me, but this character seemed drastically different from the character I came to know from the first book, Lust. Maybe it’s because each other has a unique perspective of who he is and what makes him tick. Maybe it’s because before now, I only got him in glimpses. Maybe it’s because I will never really know him. Regardless, I love how Forgy captured him in this book. I loved how far she delved into how corrupt and completely immoral he was without losing some of his substance in the process. The story was short, but I feel like the author was able to give me a dimensional character that swam rather than coasted on the dark side. With a huge cliffhanger at the end, I’m hoping the tone set for Sabastian doesn’t change in the next book of the series.
Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I’ll be watching you.
Wow! I wasn’t expecting that ending! This book is about Sebastian aka Envy. It tells about his part in the Elite and what he did behind the scenes during the other books. You never knew what you were going to get with Sebastian and when he set his sites on Sam aka Wrath’s sister Sabella nothing happened the way I thought it would. The ending is not an HEA and left me desperate for the next one! You have to read these books in order or you’ll miss out on everything! The writing was amazing and I loved it!
Envy (The Elite Seven #4) by M.N. Forgy. This is the story of Sabastian Westbrook aka Envy. His sin fits him to a T. Not satisfied with what he has, he always want what others have and he isn’t above killing to get it. I loved the way in which this story was told. The book starts out with a teaser with his connection to Sabella then switches to how Sabastian Westbrook ended up at St. Augustine as well as background on how he became who he is. He is a sick and twisted individual which made for a sick and twisted story. I absolutely loved it. Fanfuckingtastic!!!!!! So far this is the best book of the series. I was waiting for this book and it did not disappoint. I don’t want to give to much of this story away. I want you to enjoy all of this sick and demented story in all it’s glory. The ending had my head spinning as well as having me chopping at the bit for the next story in this series. I love stories that leave me with this feeling. 5 mind blowing stars.

This series just keeps getting better and better and it’s so much more than I had ever thought it would be.
Envy is the fourth sin in the Elite Seven series and M. N. Forgy has out-done herself with this one. These reviews get harder and harder to write because I don’t want to give anything away. If you are looking for a new series this is the one to read. They are standalones in the sense that each sin has a different character but the storyline NEEDS to be read from the first book, Lust to get the whole impact that these authors have done. It’s amazing.
Envy is so well written, that you just fly through the pages, because you need to know what’s going on, whose behind doing what, what his task will be and to find answers from the previous book and then to be left with more questions.
I have to say that this story is just WOW! I did not see any of that coming. I could not have dreamed that stuff up and it was just soooooooo good.

Da. Fuq??
No. Seriously.
Da fuq??
That was not at all what I expected, though, to be honest, I really shouldn’t even bother with expectations after how Wrath ended…that “ending” brought out a pretty violent reaction (which I suppose is fitting since it was Wrath’s book) but this on. This one just has me in a state of shock?
I don’t know how to explain it, I’m just kind of mind blown with all that happened in Envy and where things went. It was awesome, gritty, dark and definitely eye opening…but damn…
So, Sabastian aka Envy…
Ok. I’m going to be honest and say that going into this one I wasn’t totally feeling Envy. I mean I was curious to see what his deal was and all that, so the fascination was there, but I seriously wanted to gut him a spoon throughout most of Wrath…and that ending? Yeah. So. NOT my favorite of the Elite and now? He definitely does justice to the description “A Handsome psychopath” no doubt about that, but I actually felt some empathy towards him. There is a ton going on in the head of his, but he, unfortunately, only see what he wants to and that isn’t always a good thing. I’m not sure how I feel about where he ended up (at least thus far) ~ the feelings are many and definitely hit the extremes in some ways ~ but sure am looking forward to getting my hands on the next books in the series to see how it all plays out.
This is my first read by the author and I really enjoyed it. She pulled out all the stops and more and made Sabastian an extremely complex and yet, scarily, relatable character and I give her props for that. As for the crazy that surrounds the Elite, it gets crazier, the truths that come out in this one are definitely game changers and it’ll be a lot of fun to see how they are used in the next three books.
Note: This is not a standalone. You need to read the series in order.

ENVY by M.N Forgy is book 4 in The Elite Seven Series. This is the story of Sabastian Westbrook ‘Envy’. You can make this a standalone book, but to fully enjoy this I do think reading the series is the way to go. This is is dark read story bout Envy and his goal to find something money can’t buy…love. But what happens when he thinks he found the one but feelings are not returned?
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Sebastian Westbrook seems to enjoy letting the reader know what he has. It also makes him come across as cocky. Happy doesn’t seem to be part of his vocabulary. What’s sad is him taking what he does have for granted. I was glad to see that the book is told from his point of view. This way we get to see how his mind works and how he likes to manipulate situations.
As far as this young man is concerned, he is the first one that I really had to feel sorry for. He wants certain things but it seems to be just beyond his reach. His story is a little different from the first three books in that it’s not the adults that have let him down but that they just didn’t seem to care. Even though she may be considered a secondary character, Lillian is a woman to be reckoned with. She’s someone who is important to the flow of both the story and the series. Plus she’ll help you to understand Sebastian’s position within the group.
Here we get to see some of his impressions of the other young men in The Elite. If you don’t keep reading this one, which won’t be hard to do, you’ll miss the setup for the next sin. And that just goes to show that this is a series that should be read in order. If I have to give one warning about this book it would be to keep a tissue handy or play some music to lighten your mood. On the upside this is the perfect middle book and I can’t wait to see what our next author has in store.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
To avoid spoilers, please do not read if you have not yet read the other 3 books in the series. This is NOT a standalone, series needs to be read in order.
The Elite Seven Series Book #4. The closer we get to the ending, the crazier this shit gets! I find myself holding my breath to see what’s going to happen next. Envy is Sabastian Westbrooks story and told entirely from his POV.
With Lust, we had Rhett, the sweetheart, the charmer.
Pride, we had Mason, the guy that just couldn’t catch a break.
Wrath, we had Samuel, the angry guy that craved loved and his “type” of love was rough…really rough.
Now we have Envy, Sabastian Westbrook, and Sabastian… well he is just plain ol’ crazy!
M.N Forgy took this story and ran with it like ran all the way over to left field! After reading Wrath I just knew something bad had happened so I knew Envy’s story was going to be wild, but man.. I had no idea just how wild it was going to get! Sabastian has always been a character that I thought was a little off but after reading this, we find out he’s more than just a little off, he’s straight up certifiable!
Sabastian’s sin fits him perfectly!
Sabastian has so much, he’s rich, good-looking, charming and has everything money could buy at his fingertips… but yet he’s still so envious of the ones around him.
Because it’s the one thing money can’t buy that he desires the most, to be loved.
And with his newfound brotherhood Sabastian believes this is when he will finally get everything he has ever wanted.
So when Sabastian catches his first glimpse of Samuel Gunner A.K.A Wrath’s little sister Sabella, he thinks that she could be “the one” that could finally love him back the way he deserves.
Sabastian has become completely obsessed with Sabella. Sabella being the sweetheart that she is, tries her best to be friends with him. But she’s underestimated Sabastian and the more he’s around her the worse his obsession is getting. So when Sabella firmly puts him in the friend zone… complete chaos ensues.
“He’s super sweet, but I get this Ted Bundy feeling around him, you know?”
This is such an accurate description of Sabastian. He puts on a beautiful, charming facade but underneath, he’s absolutely crazy!
He’s one of those characters that is so manipulative and sneaky that you want to hate him but then he’s also charming and so charismatic and knowing what you know of his childhood, that you can’t help but WANT to like him.
“You never know who you’ll need at your disposal the day the devil comes knocking for souls, and making friends with everyone gives me a goddamn army.”
So of course after reading Wrath I TRIED to give Sabastian the benefit of doubt and thought maybe that someone else had a hand in why he left and all that, well needless to say that benefit is completely gone now and as of now, he’s probably the most hated in the series!
Usually, I would be upset that there was literally NO romance in this, even though there was a LOT of sex, this was far from the love story that Lust was, but the way everything played out was pretty freaking perfect!
This one was dark, like really DARK! But if you’ve read M. N Forgy, you know that’s what she does best! I see a lot of reviews complaining, but I absolutely loved how fucking unhinged Sabastian was!
That ending, I’m wondering WHAT they are there for and if Wrath is with them? Because when we left off in his story he was in jail and before Sebastian was put where he was put (I’m trying so hard not to share any spoilers), Wrath was just getting arrested. Ugh, I have sooo many questions still! Come on book #5, I am beyond ready for Greed’s story!
The Elite Seven Series is getting crazier and crazier with all the twist and turns, I’m almost worried about where this story is going to go next, but I sure can’t wait to find out!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
“I was a rough kid trying to handle a fairy he only heard about in storybooks.”
The Elite Seven series includes 7 books, by 7 authors, about 7 Deadly Sins. As book four in the series, ENVY by M.N. Forgy delivers a dark and twisted psychopath. Sebastian Westbrook completely evokes his sin. He’s cunningly ruthless, diabolical, and completely driven by his desires.
“I have everything…but a woman at my side is something I can’t lock down”
Author M.N. Forgy gives us the most deviant and complex character this far in the series. Where his brothers may give pause to their given tasks, Sebastian sees nothing but the prize. The Elite. Although as much as we see the twisted and perverse side to him, we’re also given the side that craves companionship and love. But Sebastian doesn’t just want to be loved. He wants to be worshipped, to conquer, and to wholly possess. He sees the perfect prey in the sweet and pure Sabella. Where he’s the dark, she’s the light. But what will this dark prince do when the princess doesn’t want to be claimed? Just how far down is Sebastian willing to go? You’ll have to read to find out!
This book was well written, perfectly compiled, and will have you eagerly reading. I had hoped for a greater romance component in Envy, but did enjoy the book overall. I cannot wait for the next installment – I have questions that NEED answers. Immerse yourself in this highly addictive and ultra secret society and one-click ENVY today! Enjoy babes xo
I was waiting so impatiently for this book and I was totally shocked. I didn’t expect that Sabastian aka Envy was this dark soul that was lost and looking for love. Deep down all he wanted was someone to love him back.
Envy’s story left me a bit confused in what was going on towards the end. I honestly felt like it was a tad bit rushed after a certain moment. But that ending as always left me trying to guess what’s going on and what is gonna happen next.
I really enjoyed see a glimpse into Micah Dixon aka Greed which is the next book in this fantastic series.
Omg! Dark, dark, dark!!!!! Envy’s story was definitely different from the rest of the Elite. I’m pretty much speechless. Sabastian’s demons were a lot more deeper and unforgivable. I found myself pitying Sab because don’t we all just want that special someone to love us? I enjoyed the fast pace and dark corners of his mind. I can’t wait to see where this series takes us next!
My Lord, what a wild ride through a dark and devious mind! M.N. Forgy has brought her A game to The Elite Seven series with Envy. Sebastian’s character was hinted at in prior books, but nothing quite prepared me for his true nature and the lengths he would go to in pursuit of his desires. He’s more wicked, more desperate, more envious than I ever imagined. What fun his character must have been to create!
The shocking twists and surprising ending left me breathless for more from this series. I literally cannot wait to see what happens next. 5 Brilliant and Malevolent Stars!
* 3 1/2 ‘s
For Envy, I had a hard time enjoying this story. There is no love in this book. There is heartache, mistrust, envy, lies, and deceit. But there is no love story here, which I found odd because I assumed this was a romance series, even if there is a darkness to the series.
I felt for Sebastian, I did, but he is a psychopath plan and simple. He has no empathy or thoughts other than taking for himself what everyone else has. And he will do anything he can to get it, and that includes killing for it.
This book feels a little rushed but I also don’t know exactly where M would have gone since Sebastian is such a crazy character. I guess we will have to see what happens in the other books to get the full picture of Sebastian.
WOW Best one of the series yet! Ironically the one without the romance is the one I like the best. Envy is an insane character and at first, despite his stalker tendencies, I was pulling for him and Sabella. After a while this changed and she described his Ted Bundy vibes perfectly. He’s an insane one. What I really enjoyed about this book was the fact that his task did not have to do with a girl. It made sense for the series plot for this to play out how it did; his tasks really drove the other books. But I found it unique for one book of the series not to have a girl focused as the task (although I see Greed will be the same). All Envy wants is love, but he really takes it far in this one. This book is insane! Especially the last few chapters! I think it also makes the most sense since he wasn’t the character meant to be part of the Elite at all. So it makes sense his story does not end happy.
Sebastian Westbrook seems to have everything: wealth, cars, fancy digs and good looks. However, the one thing he wants seems to continuously slip through his fingers- a girlfriend. Sebastian doesn’t just want meaningless sex, he can get that whenever he wants. He needs someone loyal to him, someone who makes him feel good about himself. After Sebastian causes some trouble, his uncle decides to place Sebastian at St. Augustine in order to try to get him noticed by a secret society, The Elite. Sebestian agrees since The Elite might be just the way to get him noticed by the type of woman who would treat him right. Sebastian uses his computer skills and ruthlessness to gain a spot into The Elite. With the Elite he finds a brotherhood and with the brotherhood, a woman who he thinks is worthy. Sebastian’s task for The Elite is easy for him and he quickly refocuses on the woman of his dreams, Sabella. However, when Sabella doesn’t agree to everything Sebastian wants, things begin to unravel and everything Sebastian has built up for himself might come crashing down.
Envy is book four in The Elite Seven Series. I would highly recommend reading at least book three, Wrath, beforehand since the stories are inextricably linked. Envy breaks the mold of the other Elite brothers. Sebastian is different and he just doesn’t have some qualities of the sin he is given, but truly encompasses the meaning of Envy by destroying the lives of others for what he covets and not caring about the causalities it causes. Sebastian’s character is darker and isn’t a character that I could get behind, but is a character I understood. Though most of his actions are heinous, I understood his need to be part of the group and his willingness to do anything to get there. I sort of liked the break of the obvious romantic interest that the other stories had and Sebastian’s infatuation with Sabella heightened the suspense. I really want to jump into the next book after this since so much went wrong for Sebastian at the end.
We meet Sebastian, part of The Elite Seven who is in a drag race with his friend, Bennett. Bennett hits a trailer as it’s pulling a boat from the swamp and Sebastian hits Bennett’s car and flips his car into the swamp. Bennett and his girl, unfortunately get burned to death.
Sebastian wakes up in the hospital after the accident, He gets into The Elite and is so in love with Sabella,
This book was soo twisty & good. Can’t wait to read Gluttony
Like with all the other books in this series you get a run down of what the secret society is about and the person who is given their deadly sin name. This is Sebastian Westbrook story as told by M.N. Forgy. I will get straight to the point, so far, I hate Sebastian. I do not like him not one bit! But the story was so gripping and wanted to know what was happening with the other characters in the story that it kept me reading. I dont know how many times I sucked in a deep breath and thought to myself “What a SOB!” I think this one will be the hardest in the series to read but its one that you HAVE to read cause its that good. When an author can make me hate a character to the point I want to yell at his mean ass I know thats an author worth reading.
Wow. This book was twisted and dark and so suspenseful I found myself having to remember to breathe while reading. MN Forgy created a monster of a character in Sebastian. He was so complex and multi-layered and at times psychotic. I found myself fascinated by his thoughts and actions. I went back and forth from hating him to feeling sorry for him to hating him all over again. There really wasn’t anything redeeming about his personality and that is what made this book so addictive. The storyline flowed quick wrapped around Sebastian’s flaws. And that ending! I never saw any of the last 30% coming. It smacked me in the face and never once said sorry. I loved this latest installment of the Elite Seven series and I can’t wait to read more!
I have to admit that when I started this book I really didn’t like Sabastian/Envy. These characters are so well written that they flow into each book seamlessly. Had not read much about Envy except the last few chapters in Wrath so he caught me off guard in his first few chapters. I tried to feel sorry for him but he gives off a really nasty vibe. The whole book proves my feelings about him. Instead of having his brothers backs he in a way stabs them in the back. While I hated Sabastian/Envy I loved most of this book. Trying to get the low down on a few yet. I can`t wait to get into the next book, Gluttony.
In this book, we get Sebastian’s stry. Damn, this is a harsh read in Chapter 1 alone. No wonder Sebastian is Envy!!! We watch as he starts out on the caboose of the crazy train, if you will. We learn about his family life and why he is now heading to St. Augustine’s. We learn a bit about his brand of crazy as the story progresses. Who sends him to St. Augustine’s and why? What is expected of him by who sent him? What things does Sebastian do early on to get the title of Envy? Who is Olly? As the story progresses, we really watch him go off the rails. We learn more about Lillian and her brother. We see what happens to Sabella, what happens to Envy, and how things go from there. Very interesting read.
