He’s determined to win her, but first, she’ll need to learn to trust her heart.Having been duped once by a charming scoundrel, Georgiana Darcy finds that, along with the excitement of soirees and new experiences, her first season is chock full of uncertainty. She knows the purpose of a season is to find a husband, but how does one judge the character of a man when she dares not trust her heart?… her heart?
For a year, Jack Ralston has been attempting to win Georgiana’s heart. The only problem is, she has no idea he is trying to be anything other than a friend. Determined to find a way to move from friend to suitor, Jack’s undertakes a scheme to make her miss him.
However, schemes in real life are not scripted like those presented on a stage, and Georgiana’s confusion coupled with Jack’s stratagems may result in heartbreak rather than happily ever after.

In this third story of the series Georgiana Darcy is having a season in town. But can she learn to trust her heart. What is it that she wants in a husband. Will it be Jack Ralston, her friend, or another gentleman.
A delightful novella.
*** May contain spoilers*** This is another clean book in Leenie Brown’s the Dash of Darcy Companion Stories Collection. It is actually the third in a trilogy and it ties up all the threads nicely.
These books are as follows:
Book 1: Unravelling Mr. Darcy
Book 2: Becoming Entangled
Book 3: Enticing Miss Darcy
This third book was a delightful story that simply made me smile. As I made my way through Georgiana’s season, I couldn’t help myself. I loved all the characters. Several were introduced in previous books and it felt like old friends coming to visit. I loved Anne and her husband Alistair Pratt with their playful interactions with each other. They were delightful. I kept thinking… who is this Anne? In fact, I enjoyed them more than I did Darcy and Elizabeth, who only played a supporting role in their help with Georgiana’s season. They also did damage control when things got out of hand. I loved this Darcy. He hated to see his sister suffer through the marriage mart.
Jack Ralston was a delight. I loved him.
The hub to this story seemed to be Grandmother Dowager Lady Matlock. She was a hoot and was the driving force throughout all the stories. This story ended at 79% on my reading device. However, our author had a surprise for us.
As the story concluded, I thought the story thread regarding Miss Parkes and Mr. Tibbett was going to be dropped. Our author had other plans with a short titled ‘Reclaiming Her Heart’ which gave our couple a different HEA than they expected.
Reclaiming Her Heart:
“By the time you swear you’re his,
Shivering and sighing.
And he vows his passion is,
Infinite, undying.
Lady make note of this –
One of you is lying.” –Dorothy Parker
Mr. Tibbett had decidedly strong opinions as to what he wanted in a wife and a woman with her own opinions… was not on his list of requirements. His staunch determination that a wife would defer to her husband on all matters, including her choice of reading material, caused him and Miss Parkes to lock horns at a house party discussed in book 2. After their argument, they parted ways.
“I stopped looking for a Dream Girl, I just wanted one that wasn’t a nightmare.” –Charles Bukowski, The Captain is Out to Lunch and the Sailors Have Taken Over the Ship
After his disastrous attempts at courting Miss Darcy, he went calling on Miss Parkes and received another shock.
In this short, we are introduced to Edward Fitzwilliam, third son of Lord and Lady Matlock, who studied the law unlike his older brother, our dear Colonel, who decided to serve his country. I loved this guy.
I received an ARC [advanced reader copy] of this book and volunteered to read it with no expectations of a review positive or otherwise. It was my pleasure to finish reading the set in this trilogy. I have most of Leenie Brown’s books and enjoy her work. I highly recommend this series.
