Cooper: One night. One bullet. One instance where I saw Clara Anderson at her worst and something in me shifted. The woman was no longer just one of my older sister’s best friends—she was a more beautiful version of the girl I harbored a crush on as a teenager—and I saved her life when she needed me. The desire to protect her blossomed and grew in the months following her attack, along with my … with my feelings. I know my sister warned me away, knowing that Clara was the anti-relationship type, but the string tying us together kept pulling tighter and tighter. Before I knew it, I was agreeing to a secret rendezvous with this woman that enticed me with every move she made. I was in too deep, and I know she felt it too, but fear can do strange things to a person, and Clara’s fear could be the knife that severed our tie.
Clara:
The night I was attacked was the lowest point of my life, but Cooper Walsh saved me and became my protector. It didn’t hurt that he was easy on the eyes and a muscular contrast to the young, scrawny boy I teased when we were younger—a fact that his sister saw me appreciate and warned me not to act on. But before I knew it, I was harboring a crush on my best friend’s younger brother, so I enticed him with my body, hoping that scratching the physical itch I had for him would be enough—but it was more than just physical and I knew it. I don’t do feelings, so I suggested we see each other in secret, hoping that the pressure of figuring out what we were would be less if no one knew. Eventually, it came time for me to make a decision when my heart told me one thing and my head argued another. But you know what they say about fear—fear is the brain’s way of saying there is something important to overcome—and Cooper could be the one man to help me overcome my past—if I could just let him in.

How can a book make me feel so many emotions?
Clara is a very independent women. She doesn’t care what other people think. Until that fateful night when her life turned upside down. The all person who was able to get her out of her head is Cooper, the one person who she shouldn’t fall in love with. Cooper is her best friend’s younger brother, but he is also the one person who makes her feel safe.
Cooper is a cop who just happened to be at the right place at the right time. He saved Clara from living her worse nightmare. However, Clara is not just anybody else, she is his sister’s best friend. The same girl he has had a crush on since he saw her at the pool one summer.
The relationship between Clara and Cooper are the best. you feel the tension at the beginning, the love develop in the middle of the story and the heartbreak at the end. This roller coaster is so worth the read and you will love every minute of it.
Enticed by Harlow James
I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC.
Entice is the second book in the Emerson Falls series and it is Cooper and Clara’s story. It can be read as a stand alone, but it’s fun to visit with the characters from book one as I read. Clara has been through a horrible attack. Her only escape is to drink until she can’t remember. Cooper, her best friends little brother and local police officer is the only one that really knows what happened the night of her attack, as he was the responding officer. They were attracted to each other before, but now that they have this horrible experience tethering them together, how are they going to fight these feelings. This is a story of resilience and healing and ultimately love. I love how strong both of these characters are. Their story is sweet and sassy and I loved every word.
Oh Gosh Miss Harlow, you really brought it again with this book.
Oh and I recieved this ARC from the author in return for an honest review.
What a book filled with many feels, feels of frustration, of anger, of pity, of love, of happy, of laughter, of joy and a few WTF moments flung in for good measure.
Clara what a horrible traumatic ordeal you suffered, how does anyone deal with that let alone ever get over it!! You did what a lot of people would do in this same situation, you hit the bottle and boy did you hit it hard. I guess it’s easier to do this than face the struggles life is throwing at you.
Along came dog loving, sensitive, family loving, charming sexy as hell Cooper to your rescue!! Who wouldn’t want this man taking you home at the end of an evening.
The chemistry Clara and Cooper shared in this book was off the charts amazing, it’s just such a shame Clara was too lost or drunk to remember it.
Thank God for auctions and a bit of good old fashioned jealousy to set things on track. This day definitely was the start of Clara’s life changing again for the better.
This book really shows us the upheaval that abuse victims go through in their struggle to get their lives back. Clara dealt with insecurity and really low self worth, she felt she didn’t deserve love and struggled with how to cope with her feelings. A horrible side effect to this is that she pushed away those she loved most while hurting them in the process.
It was so lovely to see how Clara overcame those fears, started talking about her feelings and to really overcome everything the abuse brought out.
The ending in this book was simply amazing, I could of cried with joy oh and that little surprise you flung in there, well , bring it on!!!
Oh and I also love to see more of Kane and Liv in this book , gosh Kane loves his wife hard great to see those guys living their happily ever after.
Seriously well deserved 5 stars
If you haven’t read Harlow James’ books then you need to fix that right now! “Enticed” is Book 2 of her Emerson Falls series and although it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you read the first book “Tangled”, because let’s face it, when something is that good you need to gobble it up.
“Enticed” is so many different things and all of them good. It’s a Forbidden/Reverse age gap romance read with main characters so well written, you will find yourself drawn to them on a cellular level.
Clara is a strong, opinionated, career oriented modern woman. She owns her sexuality proudly and unashamedly. But underneath that facade lies a beautifully damaged and fragile soul that no one knows or understands. Not even her best friends. But one night, one incident and one man will forever change that.
Cooper Walsh is everything. He is such a beautiful man. Strong, loyal, dedicated, honest and loving. A sexy as sin man in uniform that will melt your panties with his smile and your heart with his actions. Harboring a secret crush on his sister’s best friend, his protective instincts and inner caveman make him both her protector and savior.
Their attraction to one another is hot on every level but Clara is not ready to give more than her body even though her heart is close behind. Cooper wants her more than his next breath and will take what he can get. Things heat up between them and as the cards on the table change so does their relationship. Their happily ever after is ever so sweet and will leave you with a smile on your face. TBR this incredible book and enjoy. (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.)
Cooper and Clara are perfect for each other. They both had a thing for each other from their past, but it isn’t until an unfortunate situation that Clara begins to really see Cooper for who he is now… Strong, handsome, and amazing.
The two of them have some very steamy scenes, but it totally fits them and their personalities. Copper wants nothing more than to share with his family and friends that him and Clara are together, however, Clara is having a hard time getting to the same point. She loves and cares about him, but is afraid that her friends, especially Cooper’s sister, Olivia will not be accepting of their relationship. Things get ugly and now Clara needs to fix things and woo her man. This was the first book I’ve read where the girl had to woo the guy at the end and I have to say I loved it.
I really enjoy Harlow’s writing style and the dept that she provides for her characters. They are easy to love and connect with. The story was a fun and steamy read. Oh and let’s not forget those little Easter eggs that the author threw in.
*trigger* attempted rape
Enticed by Harlow James is the second book in the Emerson Falls Series. This time the book focuses on the characters Cooper and Clara. One night, Clara is attacked at work in the worst possible way which has led to her being on a downward spiral of drinking and PDST. Cooper was one of the Police Officers on call that night and saw what happened to Clara as well as seeing her downward spiral.
This book focuses on the relationship that the two want to have with everything that is going on. Not only has Clara survived an attack but she hasn’t come to terms with it, she has a high-profile job and she is very anti-relationships. This is in comparison to Cooper who is a younger man whose been sworn off Clara by his older sister (Book 1), is a cop and knows that Clara needs to deal with her issues before they can have a healthy relationship.
The interplay between the two characters is hot. Clara can be sassy and Cooper can definitely give it back. This story is certainly about transformation and facing your demons and Cooper is definitely with Clara all of the way…even when it gets hard. The whole gang from Emerson Falls are just great to read about, they highlight what strong friendships are and how they’re important and you can certainly see it in this book. The book is written in such a way that you want to keep turning the pages to see what happens as you’re totally invested in the characters relationship and the development of a school boy crush into a wanton need for this woman story line.
If you enjoy happily ever after, with some sexy scenes and a page turning plot, the Harlow James is the author for you!
There may be some triggers for people when reading this book.
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review

Another brilliant story by Harlow James!
Clara is a beautiful genuine woman who unfortunately faced a traumatic time in her life but the events that followed after made her realise what was always in her heart
Cooper mm i love a man in uniform however he has one of lifes most difficult jobs and it was him on duty when Clara was attacked, in the months that followed watching the woman he cared about spiralling out of control that he realised the depth of feelings there.
Sister’s best friend is it a line they should cross?
Read to find out
Cooper wasn’t just Clara’s bestie’s younger brother. He was a pet-owner, a cop, a brother, friend, and a son. He had a sense of humor, he could cook, and hey, he also made good boyfriend material, but Clara takes a while to figure that out. I loved him and was glad he stood up for his feelings with Clara. She needed someone solid in her corner.
If Cooper was an open book, Clara was the opposite. She was smart, driven, loyal, and reliable, but kept a lot of herself locked up emotionally. What was so fascinating to me was how little her best friends didn’t realize how so until the can of worms exploded. And Clara’s can exploded in a punch-in-the-gut reality check that frankly, she desperately needed to wake her up.
Obviously, I was thrilled with the layers:)
Their romance is a role reversed, best friend’s younger brother- something I normally have difficulty getting in to. With Cooper and Clara, Harlow didn’t have me focused on their age gap or differences. She had me hook, line, and sinker with seeing these two overcoming Clara’s demons and getting a highly deserved HEA! Cooper and Clara were also hot, hot, and did I mention HAWT! And Harlow made these guys pop off the pages. The combustible chemistry fairly oozed from the pages, but tie in those messy things called emotions…GAH!! Deliciously wonderful end results!!
(Have I mentioned this is only the second time I’ve read Harlow James? I want to take her to lunch and give her big hugs for making me want to buy her books!)
I received an advance reader copy from the author and this is my honest review.

(Dual POVs)
This book starts off a few months after the ending of Tangled, and the robbery at Clara’s office building. Cooper saves her that night but it was still very traumatic for Clara and she is not coping very well. She often goes and gets drunk at the local bar, and Cooper is called to take her home so she isn’t driving drunk. Clara finally decides to sober up and get therapy for her PTSD. The Emerson Falls Police Department decides to hold a date auction to raise money for the families of their fallen officers. Clara impulsively bids on Cooper and wins! After spending time together in their date, they realize they want to pursue what is going on between them, but Clara wants to keep it under wraps due to Cooper being her best friend’s younger brother and she isn’t familiar with how relationships work.
First, let me say that I love a man in a uniform and Cooper did not disappoint. I loved his loyalty and the way he acted like a gentleman when Clara was either drunk or vulnerable. I love that the tragedy these two went through opened their eyes up to explore more with their relationship. I loved the idea of the date auction! I understood Clara’s knee- jerk reaction when it came time to come clean about their relationship but my heart hurt for Cooper I thought both of their reactions were pretty realistic/ believable. I loved the epilogue!
Favorite quotes:
Avoiding her advances for months was a waste of time- because as soon as I gave in to her, I submerged myself in everything Clara and I’m mesmerized. -Cooper pg 160
”I don’t give a fuck! You’re sorry? I’m in LOVE with you!” -Cooper pg 250
Harlow, my girl! This book was just amazing!! I loved me some Cooper! By far my favorite hero of hers to date!
Best friends little brother love stories are just too good. Clara might think their age gap is a little odd for some people but not me. But after something horrible happens to Clara and Cooper comes to her rescue, she sees him in a different light. But he has always been her best friends annoying little brother that she picked on. But he isn’t that same little boy anymore, he is all muscle and all man now!
Cooper, this dude right here. I always thought he was so sweet, I mean he truly is, but boyyyy was I lot expecting him to be all alpha male as well! His draw to Clara, gah I could go on and on about how much I loved this.
But I do have to say I need me some Cash now. I loved his little cameos in this one.
5⃣
recommendation
An enjoyable and very sexy read.
Best friend’s younger brother
Secret relationship
Overcoming trauma and insecurities
Steamy scenes and flirty banter
Hilarious friends and secondary characters
I just loved Clara. She is a sassy girl, very independent, feisty and passionate. Cooper is sweet, a hero, an uniformed swoony guy, and has self-esteem. Clara is Olivia’s friend, Cooper’s sister, whom you will meet in the first book of the Emerson Falls series. They are independent volumes but I recommend that you read the story of Olivia and Kane in Tangled. You will love them!
Clara faces two totally different but necessary situations to overcome. First, there is dealing with the trauma or fears that growing because her attempted of rape. Second, there are the consequences of having a relationship with your best friend’s brother. The attraction between Cooper and Clara is increasing rapidly. With each flirtation, the desire between the two is off the charts. And when they unleash their passion, these two together are like a Fourth of July. Making sparks sprout everywhere.
Harlow not only brings us an emotional, fun and super sexy hot read, she also shows us through Clara about the importance of seeking help when you cannot confront your demons by yourself. I really loved Clara and Cooper. And I can’t finish this review without mentioning my favorite supporting character, Penny. She killed me. In a good way. I wasn’t expecting a character like her, which added more laughter and fun.
The next story in this series is from Cash, Cooper’s partner. The excerpt Harlow gave us was enough to die for knowing more.
***Highly Recommended***
Harlow James sure has a talent for creating stories that have many layers that you will slowly peel back and different and new things will be revealed. Her talent is amazing and over the top. I was in awe of her ability to be able to take a tough subject, bring light to it and do it so tastefully and classy, you don’t even touch any triggers.
The characters she introduces you to are strong and resilient. They have many demons and I securities, as most of us do. The story definitely came to life in front of my eyes.
Clara has witness things no woman should have to. She has many skeletons in the closet and has to be strong for herself. When Cooper enters the picture, you can see the constant struggle with what to do and her feelings. These two are chemistry boiling and over the top. Together, they must navigate this thing called life that is hard, but adding these two personal demons makes it so much harder.
This emotional, over the top read will enthrall and captivate you from the first word to the last. Amazing job Harlow James!!
Clara & Cooper have known each other since they were kids. There’s always been an attraction, but he’s one of her bestie’s younger brothers so it never went anywhere.
A tragic event (which, by the way, was extremely well written and well done) brings them together in a big way and they both find it difficult to fight their attraction.
Clara – I adored her. She’s a bit of a hot mess (understandably so). She’s also feisty and flirty and, most of the time, doesn’t have a care about what others thing about her.
Cooper – he’s dreamy and hot and has a huge heart!
I found myself cheering them on so hard and praying they would end up together!!
I also adore this group of friends and love that they are real with each other, but no matter how the chips fall, they have each other’s back.
I’m already anxious to get my hands on the next one!
Wow what a delightful, sweet and fantastic history was Enticed by Harlow James.
The main characters are Clara and Cooper. This two make an incredible combination of entertaining and loving characters.
Clara has experienced a traumatic event in her life that has change the person that she is. Cooper was there to witness that almost tragic event and save Clara.
Both of them have a curiosity towards each other but they don’t advance in their feelings for various reason. But their attraction is undeniable and they start to explore those feelings.
The chemistry and connection grows every day but Clara still has so much insecurities and fear and Cooper is there with so much patience and understanding but ultimately he wants everyone to know and come out to the open with their relationship. Will Clara be able to put her demons to rest?
You have to find out and read this book because you’ll be amazed the same way I was.
Title: Enticed (Emerson Falls, Book 2)
Author: Harlow James
Genre: Contemporary romance
My rating: 4.5 ++
Wow! What a great story. Harlow has such a way with words that entangles your soul. You get sucked in right away. Your emotions run at different speeds—high and low. As was the case with Clara and Coopers story. What these two had to overcome was devastating. But soon devastation turned to a sweet, sultry love affair they’re lucky to find. This book has all the ingredients one needs to cook up a good book and I’m glad to have had the awesome opportunity to receive an ARC. Happy reading!
Enticed is the first book I’ve read by Harlow James, and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
I enjoyed the story. I adored Cooper. He is sweet, strong, compassionate, and just an all-around good person.
Clara and Cooper have known each other for years and are further connected by a traumatic event. Though their attraction to one another started before the incident, it only serves to bind them even tighter together.
I liked the push and pull between Cooper and Clara, but I struggled a bit with a couple of Clara’s hangups. The focus on her being older seemed a bit silly considering their age and how minuscule the age difference. I also felt that a grown woman shouldn’t care so much about other people’s opinions; it seemed out of character for someone so fierce, independent, and sexually aware of herself.
I loved Cooper’s parents! They were hysterical and offered some much needed words of wisdom and perspective. Some of the secondary characters had me laughing out loud, while I wanted to strangle a couple!
I am definitely going to go back and read Tangled, and I can’t wait to see Cash get knocked on his rear in Book 3!
What a welcome back to Emerson Falls! I have been eagerly anticipating Cooper and Clara’s story and Harlow James delivered a great one. This best friends brother romance is a beautiful read even with the horrible events that bring them together. You won’t want to put this book down and then you just want more from this group! Can’t wait for the next one!
Clara and Cooper are feisty, fun, and whew–their chemistry. Love a law enforcement romance.
She intrigues me, entices me—and I haven’t felt that for another woman like I do for her
Enticed is book two in the Emerson Falls series by Harlow James and follows Clara and Cooper who we met in book one
Clara is dealing with the aftermath of a horrible and traumatic event and finds herself getting closer, both physically and emotionally, to the person who was there with her, who saved her and continues to save as her she tries to find a way to take back control of her life. Only problem is he is her best friends younger brother
Cooper Walsh has been crushing on his sisters best friend for a while now and would love nothing more than to explore his growing feelings further. After responding to a call one day while on duty, he could never have imagined the scene that would unfold and end up changing his whole life
Clara is such a strong and independent character who refuses to let the events of her life define her and even though her journey is not easy and she doesn’t always deal with things in the best way her resilience and strength is admirable. I loved everything about her and how unapologetic she was. Watching her deal with everything thrown her was was both heart breaking and empowering. Cooper was such a dream. He was kind, sweet, respectful, protective, loving and sexy as hell. He was only 3 years younger than Clara but I felt his maturity level matched hers beautifully. I loved how much he truly cared about Clara and how patient he was with her. Their chemistry and attraction was undeniable and I loved the progression of their relationship and their story made me giddy and swoon constantly
I loved all the side characters and getting to catch up with everyone from book one. Kane and Liv are still adorable as ever, Mama Walsh is as amazing as ever and shoutout to Penny who is one of the greatest side characters ever. At the end of the book we get a little snipet of whats to come and I’m so excited to see how Cash & Pipers story goes as I have a feeling it’ll be my favourite
Enticed is a contemporary best friend’s younger brother romance which is told from the first-person point of view of the hero and heroine and can be read either as a standalone or as book two in the Emerson Falls series.
Cooper has had a crush on Clara since he was just a teenager. When he saves her life everything in his mind and world shifts. Cooper now sees Clara as much more than just his sister’s best friend and girl he had a crush on. She is now a woman that he wants to explore more with. He agrees to be Clara’s secret knowing she has some obstacles to overcome but eventually wants to come clean to their family and friends before their secret is the demise of their relationship.
Clara was attacked in a wicked way and it has scared her deep down. The only person that she feels that she can connect to is Cooper, her best friend’s little brother and her now protector. She has come to realize that she has feelings for Cooper but is afraid to voice them to their friends and family for fear of what they will think. Her fears are bound to be their undoing unless she can let Cooper in and let him help her overcome her past.
Cooper and Clara’s story was a rollercoaster of emotions and an amazing story. The sexual tension between them is so strong that you could cut it with a knife. I love the banter between Copper and Clara through the whole story as well as their connection and their eventual ability to heal and overcome the past issues and move forward to what seems to be a rewarding future for them both. I can not wait for the next instalment in the Emerson Falls series.
