Love Ava Harrison! This age-gap romance will have you SWOONING!
One of my favorite things about this story was seeing River bring out a different side to Grayson. He was so uptight most of the time that he really needed Rivers influence to just be. With River she needed Grayson strength to help her overcome her issues. While she had his strength she also overcame things on her own. These characters really fit together perfectly. Add in the taboo aspect, the age difference (15 years) which I loved so hard this book kept me engrossed. I really don’t know what to say.
The secondary characters were a great addition to the story. Not only the friends but the characters family’s. They were a great support for these characters while they deal with their struggles. Even when they are being pushed away.
The whole typical “we can’t be together” stuff but the author added flare to it. It didn’t seem to follow the same lines as others with this story like. It was very enjoyable. The characters were great (all of them) and the writing flowed beautifully. 4 stars #2OCCJD
“This is a subject you don’t breach, a forbidden fruit you don’t taste. Not now. Not ever. It doesn’t matter how decadent you know it will taste. You don’t. It’s not on the menu and never will be.”
Entice is the latest stand alone book from an interconnecting story of the Price siblings. It’s a forbidden/ taboo, with parts age-gap element romance story of River and Grayson, the older brother of Addison from the book, Deceit.
The story start when Grayson went to a bar at Malaga to meet his bestfriend Tyler for a business meeting. While there, he met a young beautiful woman who has caught his attention, only to find out that she was the daughter of his bestfriend. For as long as she could remember, River has got a huge crush on Mr Grayson Price growing up. And for a moment at the bar, he seemed to have noticed her too until he found out about her identity.
“But I do see something I recognize very well. Loneliness. It bursts from him, alive and raw and pulsing like an injured animal. I can smell it. I can almost taste it. We are the same, yet we are nothing alike.”
Grayson’s character as the oldest sibling made him a responsible, serious for his own good, all work and no play kind of guy. His world revolves around his family and work only. But one look at River, all his carefully constructed walls and routine came tumbling down. River has known disappointments ever since her mother abandoned her and went her carefree way. She has a healthy fear that she might have inherited her mother’s carefree attitude when she keeps on taunting Grayson despite the obvious fact that they couldn’t possibly be together
“I know I’m playing with fire, but sometimes, you need to be burned to feel. And he makes me feel.”
There was a lot of angry, frustrated sexual tension between this two. Grayson was attracted to River but couldn’t allow hisself because of the age difference and the fact that she is his bestfriend’s daughter, which makes her a definite off limits. Not only that, Grayson also has a past that still haunts him. Though River enjoyed teasing him, she mostly felt rejected and confused by his hot and cold reactions. Coupled with her feelings of abandonment, daddy and mother’s issue, I think River was attracted to Grayson because he personifies stability and someone dependable. While I feel Grayson is attracted to her because she makes him feel alive again, something that was missing now from his life. Their love story is sizzling with so much pent up passion, hot, forbidden and angsty romance that will turn your insides to a knot; but lastly, this is a story about healing, overcoming your fears and living your life to the fullest. Another great read from Ms. Harrison!
Entice…
Age Gap…
Father’s best friend…
But there’s so much more hidden…deep in theirselves that both are Broken…deeply longing but to push that aside…
Will he walk away…
Will he resist the temptation…
I love the liners here and there, you can feel both of them… you understand as a reader and it’s so easy to read that you can’t help but finish this book.
Ava Harrison did an awesome job writing Grayson and River story.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I do
I really enjoyed the story. I’m always a sucker for a taboo romance. I just felt certain themes of the story were too repetitive. I fell in love with River and Grayson.
So this was a wonderful book to read! I love the forbidden affairs of the dad’s friend and daughter. This one was done in a way that it didn’t even seem forbidden at all. It just seemed like two people fighting attraction and finally getting together. The thing is about Grayson and River is that they get along so well that you just forget about it. I do hope this doesn’t give to much away but I think it helps that Grayson and River’s dad aren’t super close. I mean they were at one time but have lost touch since. River and Grayson met when she was 12. It was a touching moment of just being a nice human being. River was vulnerable and thinking her parents didn’t want her. She was hurt and alone. Grayson talking to her started her love for him. Yes there’s 15 years between them but it doesn’t matter because they make each other happy and fit together perfectly. River is in Grayson’s mind so much so that he can’t stop thinking about her. He fights the attraction until a plan forms with his brother and River. This is classic make your brother/lover jealous move. I loved how well written and played this story was. It is heartfelt and moving along with some steamy scenes. I really loved this book and the characters in it!!
“I can’t stop thinking about you. I wanted you that night and every single day since then. I have fought every single day not to grab you and make you mine.”
Age gap and forbidden romances are my guilty pleasure, which means as soon as I came across the blurb for this one, I needed it.
I’m proud to report I read this book in less than twenty-four hours — which is a rarity for me now days. I then immediately jumped into a “re-read” with the audiobook. I loved River and Grayson that much! The spark between them, and that ever delicious slow burn that comes along with a story this complicated, had me glued to the pages. River is delicate, and at times, vulnerable. Yet she had moments of fight and grit when it came to the things or in this case, the person she wanted. Grayson on the other hand, fought to keep his feelings for River on lockdown. He was a broody guy, but that all began to melt away once he came to terms with his feelings and desires, succumbing to them, and then opening up to the possibilty of sharing a life with someone.
Entice was an addictive, slow burn romance full of emotion and sweet moments. This had everything I look for in the forbidden, and River and Grayson were characters I loved reading about. Also, if you enjoy audio then I highly suggest the audiobook for this one — the narrators were fantastic!
This is a great age gap and forbidden romance. Grayson and River’s slow burn story is well written and beautiful. Grayson is 36 years old, and best friend of River’s dad. He is handsome, protective and supportive. River is 20 years old. She is a beautiful young character, a little naive. They share an amazing and beautiful chemistry. I loved to listen to their love story. The secondary characters are great. Sebastian York and Virginia Rose did an amazing job with the narration. This is a great team author/narrators. I highly recommend it. Ava Harrison never disappoints.
Grayson & River
I don’t know what it is about Ava’s writing but it always puts me in a trance and I can visually see all her words.
I love Grayson & River, the age-gap between these two is just perfect.
River has been dealing with issues her whole life, these issues limit one important part in life and that’s falling in love and being happy.
Grayson once made a promise to himself, never fall in love and never marry. He has lived with that Vow until he sees River after so many years and there’s just something about her that doesn’t give him the option with keeping with his vow.
Two people with complicated self doubt, find each other and complete each other but will their demons keep them apart or will they eventually realize they need to Live Life For the Now.
Entice is most definitely about two lost souls. River is a sweet young woman who wants a connection with her birth mother and yet she is bitterly disappointed with her flaky parent. Grayson fears relationships because of the loss he has suffered throughout his life. His isolation is a coping mechanism and it’s sad to see. The two of them are drawn to each other but there are complications. Namely River’s father. His friendship with Grayson and River’s youth makes their relationship a bit more on the taboo side. Of course, while Grayson battles with these obstacles, the two of them secretly see each other. But it isn’t just physical. Both of them have more in common than they realised including their fears.
The story is focused on not letting fears drive a person’s life. Fears prevent people from experiencing all that life has to offer. Both River and Grayson have been living half a life because of their past experiences. But maybe together they can move past this and see the world in a different view. It was a good story with heartfelt messages and tackled sensitive issues with finesse.
Ava Harrison weaves a wonderful tale of forbidden love in this age-gap story that is extremely hot with all the elements to make you cry, laugh and root for this unlikely pair.
Grayson Price is not one to let anyone get too close. He confides only in his siblings. So when he finds himself feeling things for a friend’s daughter, he’s not sure what to do about it. The always in control, reserved older brother of the Price clan is at a loss for the first time in his life over a young beauty who is barely legal.
River’s childhood was very unorthodox, having been raised by a free-spirited, hippie love kind of mom. At 12, she left her with River’s dad, Trey who at that time was Grayson’s best friend. Ever since then, she harbored a huge crush on him. Eight years later, they meet again and River is all grown up and going after what she wants, which is Grayson.
This was such a great story with wonderful characters and intense vibes. Grayson and River cannot resist the pull that’s between them. In the midst of tragedy and heartbreak, they open up to each other and fall deeper in love. It’s such a beautifully written story. I enjoyed every second of it.
4.5 stars. I loved this forbidden/age gap romance story. Grayson is the former best friend to River’s father. After years of not speaking, their friendship is rekindled. River has never forgotten her chance meeting with Gray and the impression her left on her. He’s moody and complex, and she has her own abandonment issues. Slowly, all the layers are peeled back and they learn to live and love. Well done.
4.5 stars for River and Grayson !
This is the first book I’ve read by Ava Harrison and I will just say that I like it.
I love to read age-gap romance but only if that age-gap is not too big.
So, I was a little afraid that I will not like this story because this is a forbidden story between twenty-one years old girl and her father’s best friend.
But, age-gap between wasn’t that big how I was expected.
“Entice” is slow-burn romance in which River is the one who has a crush on her father’s best friend.
From the other side, at beginning of the story, Grayson is the one who tries to stay away from River because he knows she is too young for him and she is also more forbidden because she is the daughter of his best friend.
In the end, love is the one who won the game and no matter how strong they fought against their feelings, after all, they fell in love.
If you’re looking for the forbidden and age-gap romance story, this is the one you should read!
This was a first read and audio by author Ava Harrison. When I saw this cover (FLOVE) and read the blurb, I knew I had to check this forbidden story out. I was intrigued by Ava’s writing. The story flowed very well. Some things were a bit unexpected, but at times I have to say River did get annoying for me at times lol. The build up between Grayson and River was slow, but it was worth it. Side characters added depth to the plot. Overall I enjoyed this read. I look forward to Ava’s other work.
Sebastian York and Virginia Rose were perfect narrators for these characters.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
This age gap story left me speechless, a phenomenal read, I thought it was difficult to raise the bar, but Ava Harrison knocked it out of the park. River and Greyson story is so deep, there are a lot of issues they have to overcome. All the layers are unveiled, Grayson a tortured man with so many issues going back to his childhood, River a confused girl with abandonment issues that makes some decisions she makes. The audiobook is phenomenal, narrated by Virginia Rose and Sebastian York, they portrayed each emotion perfectly.
I adore this author, I adore her words, and I adore her brain. With that said, I didn’t adore this story as much as I wanted to. Entice, was really straightforward, giving you exactly what it says in the blurb. For me? Entice, was lacking intrigue and twists, it was a really slow burn of a story, making it boring.
The characters were traditional, while their connection was intriguing touching on a taboo subject matter but that’s were it ended. I was disappointed hoping for something more or different! Entice wasn’t the story for me but hopefully this authors next book will be!
I love a forbidden romance and a dads best friend/age gap is right up my street.
I loved the first interaction where River knew who Grayson was but he didn’t know her. The sexual tension was crackling between them, then the dad appears and introduces them.
Grayson and Rivers dad, Tyler were best friends from years ago but an incident pulled them apart and they haven’t seen each other in years. Tyler offers Grayson a chance to catch up and invites him to his home. Although Grayson doesn’t want to run into River, he agrees knowing that she won’t be there. Little does Grayson know, Rivers plans change and she is now back staying with her dad.
This is a slow burn romance and at times I wished Grayson would just give into River rather than fight the temptation but it did build on the angst we all love!
I really like Grayson’s character, he didn’t want to love due to his family’s medical history and not wanting to leave anyone broken hearted when he was no longer there. Although he fought his feelings, I liked his caring, thoughtful and protective side when it came to River. The things he would do for her definitely made me swoon!
River, there were two sides to her character. On one hand she was confident in her pursuit of Grayson and free spirited and went for what she wanted, but on the otherside, she was insecure and afraid of not being needed in her family.
This story is well written, dealing with family troubles and their own personal battles, however, their feelings for each other were very real and I loved the connection they had when they got together. The drama was low and made it a enjoyable read. I love Harrison’s books and I’m already looking forward to Jax’ story!

When I read the blurb and then the excerpt for Entice, I thought this story was going to be a deliciously forbidden age gap romance that would be an easy read. But this story is a far cry from an easy read and speaking of crying, I definitely shed a few tears for River.
Abandonment issues wrapped in insecurity is the definite description of River’s personality. Since 12 years old, when her flighty mom Lily abandoned her, River has lived with doubt about her worth within her family. At 20, it is normal to wonder about your place in the world, but River’s insecurities are deeply rooted in her tragic past. My heart broke for her struggle to please her dad and prove she is nothing like her wanderlust driven mom. While her relationship with her dad is slightly strained, her step mom, Kim definitely steps up to the plate by showering River with so much love and support. Kim was one of my favorite characters in Entice. She is the best example of unconditional love.
Now to Grayson Price. First of all, I have to say that the model chosen for the cover of Entice is a perfect choice for Grayson Price. Grayson is a stern man who is dedicated to his family, the family business and that is it. He has let fears from his past make him a loner with no desire for real commitments. At 36, his personal life is so empty and it feels really depressing. Now introduce River into his controlled world and Grayson’s life is turned upside down.
River and Grayson have a connection that spans years, literally. That connection is what gravitates River to Grayson, no matter how cold and hostile he seems towards her. These two are so hot and cold together that it definitely makes for steamy moments in this story. I guess I’m a glutton for angsty love scenes!
Ava Harrison turned an age gap romance into a story that is filled with so many emotions; fears, doubts, love, and hate. Those emotions kept me turning the pages, crying for sweet, troubled River and rooting for River and Grayson to conquer their past. I’m happy to say that Ava Harrison does right by her characters.
5 Forbidden Stars
Ava has created a beautifully constructed world filled with passion, forbidden romance and ultimately forgiveness. This story will take hold of you from the start and keep you enthralled until the final word. Ava’s signature way with words draws out all your inner most emotions and leaves you breathless. This story is a pure passion filled ride of the forbidden and the consequences of wanting what you can’t have.
“I know I’m playing with fire, but sometimes, you need to be burned to feel.”
River is so very young, but even so, she has lived quite the life. Her mother had more of the hippie outlook on the world. So, they traveled a lot and she was homeschooled. Because of this and her mother leaving her when she was a child River finds it hard to form attachments. Also because of her mother’s outlook on life she works hard to be the exact opposite of her flighty mother. But in doing this she loses who she is. She carries a lot of abandonment issues which plays a huge role in her relationships. I loved the honesty of River, she had issues and serious baggage. But Ava wrote her in such a relatable way. I mean who doesn’t have some sort of issues in their life that they are trying to overcome. River tries hard not to let these issues interfere in her life, but with certain situation’s it brings to the surface all these problems.
“There’s something about her that drives me mad. She is almost fully ripe, but not quite. Dancing on the fringe of fully blossomed. It’s like watching a rose opening its petals one by one in slow motion.”
Ah Greyson, he’s the sexy older man who is friends with River’s father. Grey exercises control in all aspects of his life, he doesn’t like to let other’s in. Grey is fighting his own demons and has his own hefty set of baggage that he’s lugging around. He is brooding and calculated as well as angry and distant. But when he see’s River again for the first time in years he starts to change. He hasn’t seen her since she was a child and now, she a woman on the cusp. Grey is immediately attracted to River but of course being as he’s friends with her father he feels like they would be crossing some serious boundaries. Grey was sexy and demanding, he tries hard to stay away from her but their draw towards each other is too strong to be denied.
I loved watching as River helped draw out the softer lighter side to Grey. Seeing their connection strengthen and both grow into better stronger versions of who they are was utterly satisfying. Not to mention the tantalizingly sexy slow burn build up is enough to melt your Kindle. Grey’s subtle dominance in the bedroom was freaking delicious and hit’s all the right spots.
“In my life, I have never experienced anything like that. The need to brand her as mine was all-consuming. The fact that she thought there was somebody else infuriated me. ”
I absolutely loved this story. Ava has created wonderfully heartfelt characters that you can’t help but feel for them. River’s struggles are so real they will break your heart. Her and Grey’s chemistry is palpable you can feel it burst from the pages. If you’re in the mood for a delicious slow burn, taboo story that will give you all the feels and more this story is for you. Don’t miss out on the heartfelt journey of two lost souls who find their missing pieces in each other.
Absolutely unputdownable.
