Ready to read the next one
I started this book as an escape on a great lazy day. The twists and turns of getting involved in a winery, memories of the childhood, and memories that hide in the leaves of time make a great escape read. Eager to see where this series goes
The mystery cries out for justice. The characters are complicated. There are lessons and blessings to be experienced.
A story about Billie, an attorney, that inherits a winery in Napa Valley from her Uncle. She has issues from being sexually abused as a child. As the mystery unfolds you find out what happens to her as a child. Some good descriptions of the area and characters were interesting. I did feel the ending could of been handled better.
I was so disappointed that this book did not fulfill its potential. It could have been a moving story about childhood trauma and healing. Instead it skirted around the issue and dealt with it in a superficial way.
There are too many ways the book asks us to suspend disbelief in situations that are just plain ridiculous. The main character, …
Enjoyed the characters
There is a lot of emotion in this story. Be prepared to be a little depressed.
I loved the book and want to get others in the series!
The elegant writing within this book was just a joy to read. The easy and orderly fashion allowed each word to flow with a rhythmic pace, keeping you glued to the story.
And what a story. It is unique and from a different point of view without the violence, one would expect with the topic. But subtle and empathic as the author takes you into the …
I liked this book. I did not foresee the outcome. I would recommend this book.
Clara and Handy’s characters were the real deal. Never quite sure what was next. Great read.
Very short story (238) pages. If you took out all the off-topic stuff it would be even shorter. It’s ok if you want a story that’s quick to get thru. I can’t say why I didn’t like the story because it would give away the ending.
I enjoyed the book ..had a unexpected twist
Hard to put this book down. Very well done. Keeps you wondering what’s really going to happen next. Heart rending.
I really liked it
It moved well, and had believable characters and dialogue. It held my interest enough to finish.
Enjoyed ‘this author so much, I’m reading more books!
One of my all time favorite books. Couldn’t wait to read next two books of this series.
This is the first in a series. It’s an easy read. I’m not sure I’ll read more in the series, but it was a nice quick read.
I enjoyed learning more about wine making – very descriptive. Interested in reading the other books in this series…
