Lily’s desire to re-brand herself in a new environment ends up throwing her into a bunch of drama she was not planning on. Alfie, Max and Will are all special to her, in different ways. Her emotions are all over the place. I love this book!
I loved this story, I loved the characters, although Lily irritated me at first. I always find when a character brings out my emotions the the whole story will, and then I’ll love it, and love it I did.
Thank God I started reading this trilogy, I’m now hooked on Alfie & Lily’s story. There are some wonderful and exciting characters in this book. I can’t wait to find out what happens to all of them, Lily has some great friends which I’m enjoying reading about.
When Lily first met Alfie I just new this story was going to be an exciting read.
KL Shandwick has a beautiful talent of writing stories to keep you wanting to turn the page, lots of humour, sexy love scenes, honestly I need to read quicker.
Alfie is one hot male character, he sounds like a dream and lily is a super sexy chick, both musically talented, this makes the story different from other books I’ve read which is great.
I know Alfie has got to be hiding so many secrets from Lily it’s making the read very interesting.
Well done KL Shandwick, you have an amazing book that readers will love
I was hooked from page one. You don’t won’t to miss this must read
This story really hooked me in when I started reading this book and went a ride with the characters in this story. I found that these two characters really had s strong chemistry between them and were perfect for each other. This was an enjoyable story.
Starting a new section of her life studying music in Miami, Lily is British a long way from home and has only just lost her virginity. Meeting Alfie there’s a connection and sparks the chemistry is off the scales, only down is he does not do relationships, all he wants is sex. This is full of angst and the pain of emotions going haywire, confusion for not just her feelings but how Alfie and others treat her. Lily is so troubled and torn so unsure in the end, I really felt for her. These guys I felt none were being really honest, all pushing her to making decisions not particularly good for her. This is well written and full of twists and the unexpected. It is a young adult base, with music being the study matter and sexual exploration one of the main subjects. There is explicit sexual content. I really enjoyed reading it.
This is the first in a trilogy which more and more I am going to stay away from them because usually I do not catch the rest. This one had a lure I could not resist. This is the first time in reading this author so it was a plus also. This centers around Lily and Alfie both have a passion with music but different road. When they meet that is when things go sideways. We follow to see what is what. They are a bit different but the chemistry is there. I have become like her with alot of girls now adays like that. This was a good one to follow and have the emotions go flowing also.
Oh my, I don’t want to be mean but this book was a mess to me. It focuses more on sex then anything else. Yes, there were parts that seemed to have a real plot but then it rounded right back to sex. I’m all for hot and steamy books but all the sex, sex talk, thinking about sex really pulled me out of the book. I couldn’t like Lily nor Alfie. I thought lily was going to be this strong girl who wouldn’t let anyone screw her around and I was wrong. I just didn’t connect with either of them like I wanted to. I’m still not sure if I will read the other books in this series. It was just too much and sadly, not in a good way. 2 stars #2OCCJD
So this is about Lily. She’s from London and has decided to go to college in Miami. There she meets Alfie. He’s a rock star that wants a “friends with benefits” relationship. At first Lily is totally cool with it, but soon starts to have feelings for him. But he’s not reciprocating. Confused and hurt she tries to move on and everything just gets worse. I’m definitely interested to see what happens next.
Lily moves to America to study Music, while sharing an apartment with her friends.
Heading to the campus to organise her classes, Lily heads to the meet and greet area for new students to meet existing student. On the way, she hears music and stops captivated by the musician playing the guitar. After watching him for a while, she learns his name is Alfie and he is a big flirt, but she can’t help the way he makes her feel.
With the chemistry between Lily and Alfie undeniable they agree to be friends with benefits and no commitments as Alfie says he can’t offer her that. After a while Lily realises that she is starting to develop feelings for Alfie and needs to put some distance between them and see if he has feelings for her as well.
With things moving on well for Lily, even though she still sees Alfie, they keep their distance until, Alfie tries to get what they had back and Lily lets him know she can’t because of her feelings for him and needs someone who can love her, they decide to give being friends a try.
Lily always tries to do the right thing and keep everyone happy but decides that it’s time for her to work on what she wants to make her happy. I can’t wait to see where Lily and Alfie go in the next book.
