Good read
I am kicking myself for not reading this book before now. Nothing Left to Lose by Kirsty Moseley is one of my top favourite reads of all time and seeing as Enjoying the Chase is Nate’s story who we have already met in that first book, then you’d have thought I would have gone straight on to read his story. Well I didn’t. I do know it was because I own a paperback copy, which I rarely read due to preferring eBooks, but having devoured this fabulous book over the weekend I am now regretting not picking it up sooner.
Nate Peters is a player. He’s fun, attractive, caring, wears a SWAT uniform, is a great friend and colleague but he’s cocky and boy does he enjoy the ladies and no commitments. There is nothing more satisfying than reading a book featuring a typical playboy when they find their ‘one’. To sit back and see the change in them is so entertaining especially when they have to work for that person, and Rosie didn’t half make Nate work hard for her!
Rosie York is the best friend of Nate’s best friend’s wife but they haven’t met in person until now. Nate is everything that Rosie doesn’t want in a man, in fact she’s not even looking for any type of relationship, so when Nate makes a play for her and she repeatedly rejects him, he sees this as a bit of a challenge. I absolutely loved their interactions. Just how many cheesy pick up lines can one man have? I laughed so many times at the words that came out of Nate’s mouth over the whole story. Rosie has her priorities though and I love that she is willing to put others before her own wants and needs. This couple is perfect for each other and I was rooting for them to work out their feelings and work through the obstacles that were standing in their way. Both Rosie and Nate are incredible and deserve to find their HEAs.
This book was a fun and very enjoyable read, but there are some heart stopping moments too! I thought the secondary characters in this book added to the story perfectly. I found this book very hard to put down, hating when real life got in the way. I loved spending time once again with Anna and Ashton from Nothing Left to Lose when they appeared. Ashton Taylor has had my heart for a number of years but he now has some tough competition…. Nate! As I end this review my thoughts are that I hope that this isn’t the last we see of Nate, Rosie, Ashton and Anna. And also, where can I find my very own SWAT guy?
One of my favorites of all time from one of my inspirations, Kirsty Moseley. She kicks ass and doesn’t apologize for it, which makes me love her even more. This book will make you snort, choke on a drink, and cry, “uncle.” It’s just so damn funny. Read it!
When you meet ” the one” it is life altering. If you’re fortunate they feel the same about you.
