Lovely book, gripping read and “wow” ending. ~ Long and Short Reviewer
A lady should be the image of elegance and calm, but those words have never applied to Mercy, Duchess of Romsey. A widow and mother, Mercy is lonely and floundering to keep the estate afloat. When she discovers the existence of Leopold Randall, her husband’s estranged cousin, Mercy immediately offers to help him locate his … to help him locate his missing siblings if he helps her return the estate to order.
Leopold has returned to Hampshire for only one purpose—to learn the fate of his missing siblings. Unfortunately, the current duchess is clueless and out of her depth. Her struggle tugs at Leopold’s sense of duty and her bold nature tempts him unbearably. When Leopold discovers their lives are forever entwined, he vows to protect Mercy and her innocent son.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Leopold and Mercy are a perfect couple in this swoon worthy story. What a hero (sigh). Great story with lots of action, mystery and intrigue. I enjoyed it so much, had to purchase book 2. ~ Amazon reviewer
ENGAGING THE ENEMY is a full-length steamy regency historical romance from USA Today bestselling author Heather Boyd. It’s the first book in the emotional four book Wild Randalls quartet.
Every great family has a few secrets. The wild Randalls of Hampshire excel at them.

Silly
I loved it with the twists and turns. Never expected the villian
Good characters and storyline.
Great enthralling story of finding out long lost love and family!
THOROUGHLY enjoyed this book — humorous, sexy, steamy. I had only ONE “humph”: The image on the front cover? Her dress has an invisible zipper! Sorry, but I’m an unfortunate stickler about things like that. I can overlook fashion faux pas with regard to dates (anytime during the 19th century); frankly, I think long, flowing skirts are much more …
Mercy’s husband wanted an heir and had his brother lie with his wife. After Mercy is widowed and left with a young son, the brother returns. She needs help with the estate and welcomes his help, but the connection forged many years ago, and their love for their son, bring them together despite pressure and social mores that want to tear them …
This story line was very believable. Nice amount of suspense and mystery. You couldn’t tell who was a good and who was a bad guy.
Sex, sex, sex, yuk
The characters were wonderful, well written and the cat andmuouse spy game was a great backdrop. Kept me hooked
I’ve enjoyed reading Heather Boyd’s books throughout the years so I wasn’t surprised when I realized I had already read this book many years ago. Even though I was familiar with this title I continued to re-read it and absolutely loved it the second time around! I usually don’t care for the heroines to strongly take the lead involving romantic …
After I read the first book in this series, I had to read them all back to back. I barely left the couch all wk-end. I literally was reading 24 hrs nonstop. Can’t wait to read all the books she has written. Unfortunately, I had to break down & actually buy the rest of the series when so many good books are offered for free. Bummer.
Just didn’t think the characters were ever fully developed.
I love her books they have a good theme and nice romance
OMG! Even though I was pretty sure where the plot was headed, it had enough twists and turns to keep me interested. This is one of those books that 2:00 am rolls around and you are still reading! Great book!
Enjoyable read.
I love reading Heather Boyd’s regency romance book. She an awesome writer. This book will keep you engrossed from the first to the last page.
Enjoyed this fast read so much I bought the rest of the series to see what happens to all the characters! Good summer read.
An enjoyable read.
I like to be able to follow same characters into next books.
