What happens when a hook up leaves you hooked?Ripped muscles. Sharp suit. Sharper wit. These weren’t usually enough to make me bite, but Jackson Callaghan was a treat I wanted to taste. Return visits, however, couldn’t be something on my agenda. I needed my sole focus to be on my marketing company. I didn’t want just a hook up to turn into an addiction. The woman in my gym was better than coffee … better than coffee for waking me up. Gorgeous, driven, ambitious – she was exactly what I didn’t need. But I was hooked from the moment I saw her doing pull ups, and it didn’t take long until I had stopped trying to get away. The problem was, Vanessa Moore didn’t want to be hooked by me.
Two workaholics, two people with their own dreams. One desire. But will being hooked be enough to reel them in?

This was my first Annie book and I can happily say that it will not be the last! its a very relatable book(even though they are rich!) I come from a big family so it made me laugh at how normal it all was. I love that love kind of knocks him on his butt! Definately worth the read!!
This book held me captive from the moment I opened it. This is the first book in the Callaghan series. If the rest of the series is as good as this one I’m in for a treat.
Jackson is the new managing partner of his family’s law practice. He’s commanding, smart, handsome and driven. With the firm taking on new direction they are looking to update their marketing and advertising. Enter Vanessa Moore, part owner and head of operations at Cole Henderson. Vanessa is creative, beautiful, a stand on her own kind of women. Besides her qualities, she has her own set of issues. Together these two hit it off even with their dominant personalities and issues.
As if all this isn’t enough we get to meet the rest of the family and friends that add to the delightfulness of this story. This story will bring smiles, tears, aww moments and unbelievable heat.
I said in the beginning that this is a series and if this is the beginning I can’t wait to see what the other books bring.
Loved it! The entire Callaghan Green series is such a fabulously fun, hot, steamy, and addicting series to read and Jackson and Vanessa’s chemistry is off the scale no question, but it’s the strength of these characters that keeps you reading that and this amazing family bond that all the Callaghan siblings share makes this an amazing read and series.
Jackson and Vanessa’s book was the best book to start off this series. I loved their chemistry and how well they complemented each other. The family story line in this book is amazing and all the rest of the series captures their friends and families stories wonderfully. Jackson’s book was one of my favorite Callaghan books and I hope you all love it as much as I did!
4.5 stars
I have been waiting to read the Callaghan Green series, but only because I knew I would have to binge read the series once I started.
This author writes characters with realistic flaws and realistic scenarios. I really liked Jackson, who is a man used to getting what he wants. Vanessa is tough, smart, fit, and sexy and also used to being in control. I loved how their dynamic unfolds as they learn to be together. The bedroom scenes are steamy and still address the reality of wet spots and how couples often discuss them. I read some reviews that did not like that, but I actually appreciated that it was part of their story.
The black moment is not contrived and I appreciated that. It was based on a miscommunication like couples often have. I really liked how the characters showed respect for each other.
I enjoyed this book and will continue my binge with the next in the series.
Great story idea. I enjoyed the book very much, as I liked the story line, the characters, the family and the atmosphere it managed to create. My criticism comes from the fact that there were many errors. Grant, Jackson’s father was twice referred to as Ed. Clearly a mistake, along with the numerous spelling and grammatical errors and missed out words. A Spellchecker, can not distinguish between homophones, as the meaning is different, although spelling might be correct. I strongly suggest engaging the services of a proofreader. I would be happy to pay for sequels if the annoying errors were removed or at least reduced in number. As a proofreader myself, maybe I notice errors more readily but people generally spot mistakes quite easily and are quite frankly put off. This has the makings of a good book by a good writer! She should be able to fly and sell a great many copies if these issues were addressed.
One of my new favorite authors.
I’m so glad I finally discovered her books. This was my first one, but not my last. These characters are so real. The right touch of humor. If you love family dynamic series then this one should be on your TBR list. I can’t wait to start the next book. I admit I looked a couple things up because the different lingo, but I didn’t have a problem with that. In fact it fascinates me. Give her a try.
This is the first book I have read by this author. Far from the last. The characters, his whole huge family, were warm, funny, and wonderful. The hero and heroine had off the charts chemistry. Can’t wait to read the next!!!
I loved all the characters in this book which was a good read. It was well written and funny and just so entertaining. There wasn’t a moment that I wanted to put this book down. Jackson and Vanessa just had an attraction towards each other from the first time they met in the gym and then when they were at breakfast together but neither of them wanted more or at least tried to fool themselves into believing that.
I love Jackson & Vanessa. Jackson is a workaholic, taking his position in the family’s law firm very seriously. Jackson is used to spending time with his family, working hard on cases & enjoying his poker nights. He has never felt the need for a relationship. Vanessa was a great woman, full of sass & she was quite feisty. I loved how strong she is, even though she is at the point of breaking all ties with her ex. Another character in this book that I loved was Vanessa’s Grandma.
This one was hot from the get go. It was instant attraction from two people who lived and breathed work and escalated from there. They seemed to ground each other, give each other a sense of home and comfort. I also loved the bantering and love between the Callaghan sibings, and can’t wait to learn more about them.
Wow! Talk about steamy! Absolutely loved this book and I can’t wait for more!
I enjoyed this book, I love office romances. This story was well written and I absolutely loved both characters. This is my first book by Annie Dyer but certainly not my last!
When Jackson and Vanessa first set eyes on each other the attraction is instant but when they realise they have to work together can the put the attraction behind them??
Vanessa is trying to prove that she is the brains and brawn behind her company not her ex.
Jackson is all about work and family but finds it difficult to stay away from Vanessa.
I loved getting the first look at the Callaghan Family and can’t wait for more.
I enjoyed reading Engagement Rate from the Callaghan Green series. The book took right off into Vanessa’s and Jackson’s story. After Van had a terrible relationship with her ex she had no clue what to expect with Jackson. She questioned thier relationship through each step it took. They both were workaholics, but found time for each other. They both were willing to make the necessary compromises to nake a relationship work. I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of the family in the other books.
Annie Dyer is a new author to me that I discovered through a Facebook group and I am so glad I did! All I can say is, WOW! This is the first in a series that revolves around the 6 siblings in the Callaghan Family. In this debut novel we meet Jackson Callaghan the hot, tattooed, workaholic lawyer that runs Callaghan Greene, LLP. He is arrogant and independent and not looking for a relationship. Then he meets marketing exec, Vanessa Moore and he starts to rethink his single status. The character development and Annie’s smart, sexy writing style make this a 5 Star read.
This was a fun read. I loved the characters and the story line. Good way to spend an afternoon.
An unexpectedly awesome book. I had no expectations when going into this book and I was pleasently surprised. Love the family dynamics, the banter and the storyline. My first book from Annie Dyer and I can’t wait for the rest of this series!!
You will fall in love with this family! Such a great book
This is book 1 in the Callaghan Green series. This is alsmost my 1st book by Annie Dryer. It was hot and steamy. Jackson and Vanessa meet at the company gym. Jacksons business has hired Vanessa to rebrand their company. These 2 have sparks from the beginning. I really liked the family dynamic. You get a feel for them all. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to get my hands on book 2.
