The White House, infiltrated. The president, running for his life.A traitorous general, intent on burning the world to the ground. When everything falls apart, who do you trust?President Jack Spiers fled Washington DC on the heels of a devastating attack on CIA headquarters, masterminded by one of America’s own, former General Porter Madigan. While the world believes Jack was killed in the bombing, … was killed in the bombing, he embarks on a wild infiltration mission, smuggling himself into occupied Russia to rescue the love of his life: former Secret Service Agent and First Gentleman Ethan Reichenbach.
Reunited, Jack, Ethan, and deposed Russian president Sergey Puchkov, along with President Elizabeth Wall—the only person left in Washington DC who Jack trusts—must work together. They piece together a desperate plan, hunting Madigan to the ends of the earth and the bitter frigidity of the Arctic, where Madigan’s world-shattering doomsday plan comes together.
Outnumbered, outmaneuvered, and outgunned, Jack, Ethan, Sergey, and the rest of the team struggle to put a stop to Madigan and his army. In the desolate extremes of the Arctic, their resolve, their strength, and even their love is tested, pushed to the absolute limits as choices must be made: choices that pit the fate of the world against the love in their hearts, and the loves of their life.
As the world crumbles around them, Jack and Ethan find themselves waging a war on two fronts—against an enemy they can see, and another, hiding within their ranks.
Who can be trusted when the enemy is within you?

Wow, that was too much and not enough! By the time I was finished I fell in love with the men who gave their all to protect the planet. Oh, how hard they loved and fought because they had so much to lose. Jack and Ethan were absolute darlings that made me sigh, Adam and Faisal were so endearing and loving, Sasha and Sergei nearly destroyed me with their words and choices…that beach of heartbreak! It was so thrilling to be along for the ride with these heroes, for they were heroes – in danger, on the edge of the world and facing the most deranged mastermind ever lived.
There is constant on edge tension, betrayal and risk of discovery. It was too much but I could not stop. Who was friend or foe? There were so many questions, and the author slowly unveiled them, peeled the layers off to the center within – how one man’s ambition nearly brought the world to its knees. I loved it. I loved the turbulent emotions, the impossible odds, the nick of time rescues and the heart rending moments that made me tear up all over again. I am putting this series in my definite reread favorites. So much heart and courage, so much strength and determination, so much work and sacrifice – I have to experience it again. Absolutely sublime series that cemented these men in my heart! Loved it!
Five stars plus plus. This third book completely floored me I was an emotional mess when I finished in the very early hours .
Trying to stop Madigan was so intense I sat over the kindle reading every word
again the detail was absolutely brilliant, painstaking hours it would have taken forTal Bauer to research – I even got the atlas out so I could follow them while I read … that is how great this book is…
The horrendous conditions of the arctic the bravery of all these men undid me completely….
I was completely into the pages as I could visualize what was happening I could see it so clearly!
Adam and Faisal and Sergey and Sasha their story’s were the icing on the cake brilliantly written….
I was on tenterhooks for these men and then ~~ my grin !!!!
The beautiful love between all these men including Jack and Ethan had me on a romantic high and the end of the book was to die for……………
Tal Bauer brought me in a world of politics and love and I recommend this series to everyone ….. absolutely a stunning and beautiful book…
This book, this entire series, is truly amazing. The writing his superb with such complex and compelling storylines and characters. Throughout this series, readers are fully engaged with Jack, Ethan, Sergey, Sasha, Scott, and so many other characters. The amount of research completed by the author speaks to the high intellect level of this series. However, this series is still very much a romance; love of friends, love of country, love of humanity, and love of your soulmate. Watching these characters fight for their hearts desires is the best, heart wrenching experience provided by Tal Bauer. Don’t miss this series, you won’t regret it.
Enemy Within wrecked my heart so many times over. This book was nonstop action, heartache and assholery in the form of General Madigan. Every chapter something was changing, and a secret was revealed that had the potential to shatter everything that Jack and Ethan had been working towards.
The sheer amount of action that happened in this book left my mind reeling. From submarines to waterboarding and even betrayals there was never a moment where I could have predicted the outcome of this story. Being back with Jack, Ethan, Adam, Faisal, Sergey and Sasha was so much like coming home that every moment they felt terror I felt it too. Not only for them but for the people they loved and everything that they were fighting for.
“He didn’t want to let that memory go, let it become just one blip in a long line of prayers. If he’d known how much those moments, those breaths, those whispered words would come to mean, he’d have paid more attention. Kept every moment in his memories, like capturing fireflies in a jar.”
Jack & Ethan will honestly always have my heart. Everything about their relationship from the very start was such a force of passion and wills that rooting for them is like breathing. Their relationship might be at its strongest point it has ever been, but they still have a madman to take down before they can even begin to think about what their future might look like. Through separation, explosions and other forces trying to keep them apart Ethan and Jack are the driving force behind keeping America safe. They will stop at nothing to make sure that happens even if that means losing their lives in the process.
Sasha & Sergey broke my heart at every damn turn. Their “relationship” started off in “Enemy of My Enemy” and through all the hurt and confusing feelings they came together despite the odds. Every move Sasha made was to ensure Sergey’s safety and make sure that he was able to bring Russia back from all the disaster it has faced. Through fear, feelings and mistakes both men want nothing more than for Russia to be restored but what if to ensure that happens Sasha must put everything else aside, including his feelings for Sergey?
Adam & Faisal had already lost so much before this story even started and as they come together time and time again to keep POTUS safe all that they lost was at the front of their minds. Adam couldn’t stand the thought of everything he worked for being for nothing but losing Faisal again was no longer an option. Adam will do anything he can to ensure his safety even betraying everything he stands for. Faisal lost Adam before but not like this, never like this. How can he survive when the man he loves is gone because of him?
Honestly, Enemy Within might have been the best book in the trilogy so far. We get to see everything come to fruition including the people and they love. Every question was answered, every fearful thought you have had since the start will come true and you will be left shattered and broken. Don’t fret though, Tal Bauer will put back those pieces (mostly??) and you will be left with all the feels. I will carry The Executive Office Series in my heart probably forever. Ethan, Jack, Adam, Faisal, Sasha and Sergey gave me so much not only in just their love stories but in the love and passion they shared for keeping the world safe.
5 Stars. For the Prince who stole the show. My God this was fast pace. I loved it.
Wow! Just wow. You’d better buckle up cause this series will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end! I can’t say enough good about it.
This is the third of an exceptional trilogy. It has all of Mr. Bauer’s exceptional writing, great plot and charismatic, engaging characters. Of the three books, this one is the most action-packed with an edge-of-your-seat scene in almost every chapter. If you haven’t read any of Tal Bauer’s work do yourself a favor and get started, but only if you have an open mind and are accepting of alternative lifestyles and characters that stay true to themselves.
