Stone Reeves was my neighbor, and I’ve hated him since sixth grade.Gorgeous and charismatic, he became the town’s football god, while I became the town’s invisible girl.He went to a Division 1 school for football, while my father was fired by his father. His team won the National Championship, while my mother died the same day.He was a first round pick for the NFL …… while I made the worst … …
… while I made the worst decision of my life.
Now I’m in Texas trying to pick up the pieces of my life.
But, Stone is here.
Stone is everywhere.
It doesn’t matter that disaster has struck my life again.
It doesn’t matter that he’s the one trying to console me.
It doesn’t matter that he’s the nation’s newest football obsession.
Because for me, he always has been and always will be my enemy.

…and just like that I’M IN LOVE!!! My heart is completely happy and full…perfectly content!
Stone Reeves is in a league all on his own!
This story is much more than an enemies-to-lovers romance; more than just two childhood friends who lost each other along the way. There is so much more than meets the eye with Enemies! Some revelations that come to light are startling and life altering; however what they lead to is nothing short of amazing!
Football Superstar Hero + Feisty Determined Heroine = Some freaking amazing hate sex!
Probably the most intense hate sex I’ve ever read!
I first got hint of this book back in February/March(2019) and immediately knew I needed it in my life. At that point I’d read about 5 of Tijan’s books and loved each one. Her writing is so different from so many other authors I’ve read. She has a way of pulling you into the story; has you holding your breathe waiting for what’s next. It doesn’t take very long after you start her books, before you find yourself needing EVERY SINGLE WORD.
This is her 3rd book that’s just hit me right in the gut and made me cry! Don’t let that stop you though. I know some don’t like to read emotional books but they are definitely my FAVORITE! My favorite books by her touch on subjects that make life a bit more difficult; whether it be something small or huge. This one isn’t a constant emotional high though; you’ll have some tears, some laughs and probably a bit of anger! The hate though…WHEW! It’s enough to melt icebergs and freeze oceans all at the same time! Haha!
I knew Tijan would not let me down with this book and I was right! Overall though, the story of Stone and Dusty is one that MUST BE READ! It’s going in my FAVES for 2019!
PS…STONE REEVES IS ALSO ALL MINE! I won’t share him!
This book had me from page one until the last, I absolutely love it. Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope, this book had it all. Stone and Dusty are perfect for each other. The angst was beyond good. their chemistry and past history made it unforgettable, I wish I could start it all over again. Can’t wait for the audiobook but Stone is my new book boyfriend. I need more books like this one, I know Tijan always delivers amazing books and she is my one-click author for that reason, but really I need more like this one, enemies to lovers, with a bastard hero and a great heroine. Kudos Tijan this one was epic!
WARNING: THIS BOOK IS ABOUT TO WRECK YOUR EMOTIONS!!!
Bully Romance Second Chance Romance Friends To Lovers A little bit of Sports Romance = Enemies by Tijan!
Enemies is Tijan’s latest contemporary, new adult, sports romance! It’s no secret that I am a HUGE Tijan fan, one-click, one-click, one-click! I LOVE sports romances, and when they are new adult romances too, well that’s just the icing on the cake, right? Enemies has EVERYTHING I look for in a book, PLUS some!!! I already knew that Tijan could write a killer sports romance, I mean you’ve read Teardrop Shot right?! AHH-MAZING! But I wasn’t ready for Enemies, not at all! My heart has broken, healed, then was ripped to shreds just to start the process all over again. Enemies put my emotions through the wringer but I loved every single minute of it. Enemies isn’t a fluffy, sweet and light read, it’s heartbreak and turmoil and it’s REAL!
We knew just from the prologue that these two were enemies. Plain and simple, Dusty Phillips despised Stone Reeves. But what we didn’t know was why…
, .
Stone Reeves is like football royalty in Texas. He’s a handsome, wholesome, small-town boy living his dream after being picked during the first round draft for the NFL.
After certain events cause her to reevaluate her life, Dusty Phillips leaves her hometown before her junior year of college. Dusty heads to Texas intent on studying to become a marine biologist. Now she’s living in a new state with a house full of strangers, going to a new school, completely starting over. Dusty knows that Stone is there too but she has no intention of interacting with him.
Dusty and Stone may be enemies now but they didn’t start out that way. At one point in time, they weren’t only neighbors, they were best friends. Until things changed when they were teenagers. After they fell out, it wasn’t long before their families fell out too. Then while the Reeves had success after success… the Phillips went through one tragedy after another.
, .
But when a devastating tragedy strikes back home, Stone is the only person that can reach out and deliver the heartbreaking news to Dusty. But unlike before, this time Stone is determined to be there to help Dusty through her pain. Stone feels an obligation towards Dusty and he won’t stop until he sees it through.
‘ , .
But when Dusty needs “something else” from Stone to help her heal, their relationship turns physical. Turning these long-time enemies into… more.
But the closer Dust and Stone become the more Stone finds out about the unknown history between the two families.
What happens when things between these long-time enemies don’t feel like their enemies anymore?
‘ . ‘ ‘ .
Angst for days, drama, turmoil, passion… Enemies has it ALL! This story, these characters, you can’t help but root for them. Even the secondary characters had so much depth and their characters continued to grow along with Stone and Dusty.
. , , ****** . . ‘ ****** . , .
Dusty. This girl. I don’t even know what to say. My heart was crumbling for her. I kept thinking, SHEESH it can’t get any worse than this for her. It just can’t. And then the next awful thing would happen to her and my heart would break all over again. Dusty is an amazing character. That girl was taking punches left and right, first the things that were going on in her life, then the catty girl’s in the football party house that she found herself living in, then everything with Stone… she is a survivor! She was hard-headed as they come which caused me, as well as Stone, to get a little frustrated with her at times, but Dusty is who she is. She’s a hard worker and she doesn’t accept handouts or want anyone to pity her, which is one reason she fought Stone the whole way through.
I LOVE that Tijan wrote Dusty going through all the stages of grief. It wasn’t just a fluff read where love all of a sudden healed her overnight. No, she had to go through every single stage and every single emotion herself, and Stone was there by her side while she did it.
. , .
Stone Reeves is EVERYTHING I look for in a book boyfriend. Gahh… yea Stone ‘Rager’ Reeves is totally swoon-worthy! I liked him even more because although he was a hotshot NFL player, he still stayed humble and grounded. He wasn’t cocky, nor did he show off like most characters like Stone would. They broke the mold with Stone. Don’t get me wrong, he’s growly (and I mean he literally growls, a LOT!) he has a smart mouth and he’s possessive as I don’t know what but behind that tough exterior, he is the sweetest guy. He came in and took charge at a time in Dusty’s life when, whether she liked it or not, she needed someone to do just that. He really did a lot of Dust. No matter the cost, no matter what it COULD have cost him, he was dead set on being by her side while she overcomes everything going on her life. Even though she sure tried like hell to push him away, he stood strong.
. .”… “ , , . .
The back and forth between these two was awesome. There’s no denying the chemistry right from the start, even when they hate each other. Stone may have reached out to Dusty under less than stellar circumstances, but he was really trying to make up for the mistakes he made when he was just a stupid teenage boy. I adored watching the two of them, especially Dusty, come to terms with their past to be able to give the future a chance. And let me tell ya, Dusty and Stone are smokin’ hot! Whether they are hating each other or loving each other, they are attracted to each other and THAT makes for some smokin’ hot steamy scenes!
.
No one does angsty college romances quite like Tijan! I have been OBSESSED with EVERYTHING Tijan ever since I first got my hands on The Fallen Crest Series. Seriously, every single thing this woman writes is GOLD! After I binged that whole series in a weekend I went on to read every single other book that she had released and I’ve one-clicked every release since then too! I love that there isn’t a topic that she shies away from. She takes on the hard stuff, the tough stuff, the REAL LIFE stuff! And she does it in such an amazing way that you are completely enthralled and can’t put it down. Enemies was no different!
If ANY two characters deserved a happy ending, it was these two. The bond these two shared when they were children may have been bent, but it was far from broken. And although they went through a whole lot of heartbreak to get there, they got their happily ever after. Gahhh, I am SOO not ready to say goodbye to these characters. *SIGH*
Enemies is most definitely up there on the 2019 favorite reads list!
TOTAL MUST READ, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

What can I say about this book. These two were best friends for most of there life. Rich son. Poor daughter. Dusty has lived a very hard life. She has had a world of hurt brought down on her. A famous football god who plays like a god. They hate each other but they need each other . Friends to enemies to friends to lovers!! Amazing read !!
“We weren’t enemies anymore. I wasn’t even sure if we’d been enemies in the first place.”
Enemies by Tijan is an enemies to lovers romance that stole my heart! I am a HUGE fan of Tijan and she continues to blow me away with story after story.
“I was going to make him hate me. I was going to make us enemies, once and for all.”
Stones Reeves is everything you want in a book boyfriend. He’s smoking hot, he’s possessive as hell, his dirty mouth makes you swoon, and he can be the sweetest man.
“Good. I like you standing.” His eyes flashed, growing molten. “I like you in other ways, too, but I want you fighting the most. I need you to fight again.”
Tijan sucked me in with this story. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. The characters were so relatable and I was able to connect with them from page one.
I can’t wait for Tijan’s next book. I know no matter what she writes, it will be phenomenal.
Sports romances are one of my favorite genres, add written by Tijan and it’s one of my top books of the year.
These characters Stone and Dusty are some of the best I’ve read about in a while. They are enemies, known each other since they were children, misunderstandings have one time friends hating each other.
This is one of those books that you can’t put down. This story grabs you and the characters lasso you in. I absolutely loved it. You definitely need to read this one!

I LOVE Stone Reeves!! Tijan brings out all the feelings with this book!
Stone and Dusty may just be my new favorite Tijan couple! I mean what is not to love about them? A hot AF football hero, and a fiesty, determined heroine who brings him to his knees.
Dusty’s life has been full of heartache and lose. She lost her mom to cancer her senior year of high school, she lost her best friend in sixth grade when he thought she was no longer cool. She’s had a horrible thing happen to her all because of who she knew.
Stone The Rampage Reeves is one of the greatest wide receivers in pro football. He has it all, the big house, wealthy parents who support his career. His life is turned upside down when the girl he left behind in the seventh grade gets pushed back into his life.
The pull between these two is absolutely magnetic, they are drawn to each other. He tries to push her away, she tries to push him away but they always end up back together. The heat of this book was enough to have me fanning myself as I was reading. The hate sex these two have is hot as hell.
Everything about this book was just amazing, phenomenal. Tijan brings out all the feelings with these two, I cried, I laughed, I screamed. The characters, the plot, everything is what we would expect from Tijan just taken up a few notches.
I LOVE STONE!!! This book is absolutely phenomenal and will be a top read of the year. Everyone needs to read this book!!
Tijan does it again! God I love her writing!! There is always so much angst in her books and Enemies is exactly the same!
Enemies is a college age, sports romance about the hottest guy in the NFL and his childhood female best friend. They have hated each other since he was in 6th grade and his family (parents) did some awful things to her family over the years.
Dusty has been through more heartache and horrible life events than anyone her age should have to go through. And every time something goes wrong in her life, something good happens in Stone’s life.
When tragedy brings them together again, will they continue to hate each other or will they give into their desires?
“ ’ , , .”
This story has so much angst and heartbreak. Tijan pulls you in right away with the mystery of Dusty’s past. Tijan has an amazing ability to write quirky and different female characters, where she puts you right inside their head and their messed up thought process. While Dusty is strong, especially considering everything she has been through, she’s human and has her weaknesses. One of those weaknesses is Stone and how he makes her feel even after all of these years of hating each other.
“ – .”
I can’t say much without going into spoilers about the story so the only other thing I’ll say is that if you love Tijan’s books, read Enemies now! And if you’ve never read one of her books, you need to start right away!
This was a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers sports romance. This was such an intense and emotional love story.
All of the feels! I laughed. I cried. I swooned. I melted. My heart broke. There was a healthy dose of angst, drama, emotions, and steam. This was a well written book that hooked me from the start and had me hanging onto every word.
There were wonderful characters throughout the book. Stone was everything! He was strong, caring, sexy, and swoony. I couldn’t get enough of him! I loved Dusty too. She was strong, independent, and determined and she had a big heart.
What a rollercoaster ride of emotions! I enjoyed every minute of it. All those feel-good, swoony moments made for a wonderful, great world building read with a HEA!! I also loved that there was an extended epilogue. I highly recommend reading it!

You know that feeling that you get when you’re reading a good book? When you can feel the words throughout your entire body… even in your fingers and toes? You feel excited, anxious, hot? That’s how I felt reading Enemies. I consumed this enemies-to-lovers romance. I loved the sexual tension and the angst between Dusty and Stone. It’s my favorite!
Stone Reeves …. good grief, he lit me up! I loved how masculine he was. How he took control. Sweet baby Jesus, I was drooling all over myself! I just imagined this super sexy, deep voiced, MAN. He did not take no for an answer. He didn’t care about anyone but Dusty. She was his priority. He did what he had to do to take care of her and it was crazy H.O.T!
Poor Dusty. So guarded and broken. Full of pain and loss. Her life had not been easy. Her strength and determination was admirable. Despite all the hurt she carried inside her, she kept pressing on. One foot in front of the other. One day at a time. I loved how she let Stone have it. She wasn’t going to give him an inch! Too bad for Dusty, their chemistry was off the charts and he was just too irresistible!
Enemies was just what I needed. I love this trope and it was everything I hoped it would be. It was a super sexy, super angsty, slightly emotional read that reminds me that fate has a plan of her own, and that sometime’s, there is a very thin line between love and hate. I highly recommend!

Tough love, you know that saying~”There is a thin line between Love and Hate” That describes the relationship between Stone and Dusty. A passionate love hidden under the thin veil of hate. Well not exactly thin I mean it ran deep but it was also the only feeling they let themselves feel.
This book is full of passion in all of it’s forms. Passionate and prideful and oh so exciting is what you can expect from Dusty and Stone. Football and love two things that make a romance exciting throw in an Alfa player, mixed in with a prideful beauty and you have a powerful read.
A very short Prologue that makes up for its length with the amount of intrigue. This book definitely gives new meaning to “enemies to lovers”…the best one I’ve read to date!
Dusty moves to Texas…new state, new school, new major, new friends, new life. But when the past comes calling in the way of one extremely larger than life, sexy as hell wide receiver, her hope of a fresh start takes on a much different look.
Stone is a big time football star in Texas and when he discovers Dusty is under his nose again, he finds out more than he bargained for about the history between their families.
I’ve never wanted to hug a character so much, but Dusty’s story clutched every heartstring, and I needed to see her happy! So much angst, so much heartbreak…she’d been through so much and it needed to stop. Dusty and Stone’s connection may have been turbulent but it was also incredibly sexy and steamy in a very emotional and moving way.
The twists, turns and suffering just kept coming, which made me even more invested in a happily ever after. Tijan certainly didn’t disappoint because this book delivered in every way possible and exceeded every expectation. An absolute must read!
that’s my reaction to this book.
Another great story by an amazing author. The angst takes another level with this one and the story itself it’s definitely not what you’re expecting, it’s way much better.
Can’t get enough of it and will have to reread soon.
OH MY HEART 5 stars
“I was going to make him hate me. I was going to make us enemies, once and for all.”
Whatever Tijan writes is always Epic she has written again long novel
From enemies to lovers very good and exciting story with nice characters

She comes to live with people who likes to party and watch soccer
What Dusty hates so much

it’s not a pleasant reunion for them
This book was so emotional and tragic
I enjoyed it from start to finish and there was something happening all the time
The main topic was College life how Dusty would handle it her interaction with roommates
Stone celebrity, but also something that completely changed girl life
When it comes to Stone and Dusty, that their relationship was a complete mess
They were both stubborn but they had chemistry if they were together it was hot FIRE
Thank you Tijan!
Enemies by Tijan brings all the feels, and all the ANGST! Stone & Dusty check off all the enemies to lovers boxes, and the journey from love to hate was absolutely addicting! From the start I could not get enough of the anger and the emotion, and all of the hurt rolling between them. The chemistry and the tension was delish, and boy did Tijan turn up the heat. Just when you thought Enemies couldn’t get more emotionally intense – surprise, you won’t see this coming!
I loved the journey, I loved the character growth, and I LOVED the connection! Enemies is everything an enemies to lovers should be! An incredible must read.
This story. Wow. So much to unpack for you.
I don’t know how Tijan does it, but every book I have read by her has me all kinds of wound-up when I’m reading it. If there’s an emotion out there to be felt, I’m FEELING IT! It’s hella scary and very exhilarating. Her voice is unique. In the 20+ years I’ve been reading romance fiction, I’ve never come across an author as consistent as she is. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME!
Some of the paths this story takes are not easy but they’re also not dwelled on as to make the story unreadable to those who might have triggers. Situations happened but we as readers are not experiencing the situations as they happen. I appreciate that so damn much because sometimes, a girl just wants to read a real and realistic romance journey without all the REAL in her face. Feel me? Tijan does it often and she does it well. She gives just the right amount of information for the reader to get a full picture but doesn’t go over into drama filled #feels. It’s one of the things that I love most about her as an author. So as you can now guess, this story has some pretty serious twists and turns LOL obvs. Some you will see coming and some you won’t, at least I didn’t. #WIN
I discovered Tijan just this year, but I’ve managed to read seven books including this one so far. I have every word she has ever published downloaded already. That should tell you how powerfully I feel about her talent. She’s good you guys. #TRUST
Enemies is perfectly name for this intense, heartfelt enemies to lovers romance. There is definitely a fine line between love and hate throughout this read. Your heart goes out to Dusty from the beginning. Tijan did a great job with this charter. Her hurt, her stubbornness and her heart is felt throughout this read. Stone is a topicals NFL player on the field but sweet and swoon worthy off the field. The chemistry, also the anger and fun in this book is felt as you are reading. I absolutely loved the intensity and also the friendship in these characters. A great read and I hope that Tijan visits these characters again.
Some books just swallow you hole and you can’t stop thinking about after you have finished reading; and this story was definitely one for me. An emotional rollercoaster that had my emotions running wild. I had tears in my eyes in all that Dusty was enduring; I could feel her pain through the author’s words and that was just so heartbreaking to read at times. I’ve read books by this author before and this one is definitely one of my top favorites!
‘You just never know what will happen in your life and everyone deals with situations differently; we just have to make the most of the life we get!’
Dusty is starting college somewhere else and fled the town where she grew up as she just wants to have a fresh start. She tries to stay low key and has good hope when her new classes start. But when tragedy happens, she’ll have to face the one boy she never really forgot. Even though she and Stone were best friends growing up, things fell apart and their relationship never was the same. Now Dusty has no other choice than to let him back into her life…
Stone has been made for the field and has become a big superstar but when he learns what has happened with his long lost friend, he’ll make a decision that will change both their lifes. When secrets from the past rise above, it’ll shake them both to the core but somehow, it seems to be healing their strained relationship but will it be enough to mend the broken?…
If you were eagerly awaiting the release of this book, then you’ll be overjoyed when you get your hands on it. Dusty has had a tremendous bout…let’s call a spade a spade – LITANY of bad luck. And even though she hates Stone (with good reason), she isn’t a bitter soul. She’s smart, she’s driven, and she knows that being in the same town as Stone will inevitably cause issues. The history between Stone and Dusty is what makes this story so powerful; there are so many powerful details buried in the past which come to light as their journey toward each other unfolds.
Perhaps the best part is Stone. Incredible football player who has gone pro, has everything he has ever wanted, and is terribly misjudged for his public persona. I want, repeated wanted to hate him. But he wouldn’t let me. Even when I wanted to name his actions as a callous asshole, I knew deep down I was wrong. So I had to keep reading to see who Stone really was and how his life would re-intermingle with Dusty’s.
This story has a bit of grit to it, not unlike Fallen Crest. Which makes my heart warm because I miss that crew with a vengeance. So if you’re looking for a fresh story but characters who will make you burn the same way, this book is it. And if you’ve never read a Tijan book before, this is a good book to get you hooked on her writing prowess.
So now that I devoured that book in a matter of hours, I’m dying for her next one. Who’s with me??
