I don’t love him. I don’t even like him.I just want him.Eli Loveless was my nemesis from the first day of kindergarten until we graduated high school. Everything I did, he had to do better – and vice versa. The day he left town was the best day of my life.Ten years later, the day he came back was the worst. Now he’s my co-worker.Grown-up Eli Loveless is sexy as sin. He’s hotter than asphalt in the … is sexy as sin. He’s hotter than asphalt in the summer. The irritating kid I once knew is gone, and he’s been replaced by a man with green eyes, perfect abs, and a cocky smile.
It’s bad that I want him.
It’s worse that he wants me back.
There are looks. There are smirks. There are smiles that make my panties burst into flame.
And then there’s a shared kiss that leads to the hottest night of my life.
This is no office romance. This is a five-alarm fire.
What’s a girl to do when the man I can’t stand is the one I can’t stop lusting after?
Enter into a friends-with-benefits agreement, of course.
No dates. No relationship. Just blisteringly hot sex, because if there’s one person I could never fall for, it’s Eli.
…right?

I really enjoyed this book. Eli and Violet have such a love/hate relationship that captures your attention from the very beginning. The competitiveness between them is so strong and has been there for so long. Of course when they were younger neither seemed to realize that it may have been an effect of the attraction they felt for one another. This book had me laughing at times when each give their POV of what went on between the ages of 5 and 17. Once they meet again as adults the banter starts again and so does the attraction. The chemistry between them is so hot and steamy. This is a well written book with a wonderful HEA!
In my opinion this was a fun and interesting story. Roxie Noir grabbed my attention from the start and kept through out. The enemies aspect of the story could have gone either way, so immature I can’t stand either one or a balance of competitiveness with a little immaturity. In my opinion Roxie Noir found a happy medium on both accounts. Eli and Violet had moments of immaturity but I could feel the struggle to be adult and professional. I liked both Eli and Violet both are smart, competitive and want do the best job they can. In my opinion I thought Roxie Noir did a good job of writing some humor, lots of steam and enough suspense to keep me turning the pages. I really enjoyed this book. In my opinion if you are a Roxie Noir fan, I think you will like Enemies With Benefits. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader’s copy.
Amazing story of enemies to Lovers. I couldn’t put this book down once I started. The main characters, Eli and Violet, play off each other so well. Everything you want in a story. Family, friendship, humor, anger and love. Great author and a great story. No cliffhanger and Hea.
I voluntarily received this arc in exchange for an honest review.
Fun read! I enjoyed both Eli and Violet on their own but we also got the added enjoyment of Eli’s family in their story. Eli has 4 brothers and one of them has a 6 year old little girl. Let me tell you that little girl almost stole the show. Also, I highly recommend the audiobook version. The narrators did such a great job with these characters. It’s an easy and fun listen to a great book.
I loved Violet and Eli! This was such a fun, cute read!
Violet and Eli were competitors at everything since the first day of kindergarten. When graduation takes Eli in one direction and Violet’s plans take a serious detour, they each live their life with what they’ve been dealt. But with Eli’s return to town and the fact he’s now her co-worker, the competition is on again.
”Besides, dear God, Violet is pretty when she’s mad. She’s pretty all the time, but anger sparks something in her eyes that makes her light up like a human flame, burning and flickering from the inside, dangerous and alluring all at once.”
This couple were so cute despite their constant bickering. As the story progresses, the arguments change into a fun, flirty banter that I loved. The chemistry between these two absolutely sizzles and the gradual change from enemies to lovers to more was wonderful. There really isn’t a lot of drama here, and what we are given is relatively low angst. I loved how things worked out for them and the epilogue was perfect. I know we’ll be seeing more of Eli and Violet as we get more of the Loveless boys and I cannot wait!
It checks all of the boxes.
Long enough to let you know you are reading a novel and not a short story…check
Witty/Snarky banter…check
Sizzling chemistry hot enough to melt your e-reader…check
Romantic feel-goods with a happily ever after…check
And probably most importantly – written by Roxie Noir who can’t seem to write anything BUT a great story…check and Mate (pun intended)
Roxie Noir did a great job on Enemies With Benefits, the story was well written with a great plot. Violet and Eli were great characters. They have been at each other since they were young. always trying to do better than the other. Neither realizing how much they were alike. Now that they are older, they still have that same thing going but now it’s more of a lust/love/hate thing going on. No matter what these two do to one another, they were meant for each other. Their chemistry was sexy. They were great together.
I enjoyed this story, it was great. Thank you, Roxie Noir. Great work 🙂
This is a good enemies to lovers story. I really liked Eli from the very beginning. Violet was harder to get used to. She is very stuck in her ways and wasn’t very nice at first but she grew on me.
Nemesis Becomes Much, Much More!!
Eli and Violet grow up competing through their school years. Both are eager to leave for college and beyond. Both end up back in their small town. “She always had to be the very best at anything, and woe to anyone who stood in her way – – usually, me.”
Never truer – the enemy of your enemy is your friend. When these two join forces and allow the attraction they have to be fulfilled everything changes. Can lifelong enemies change their stripes?
Cake emergencies, bowling shoe protocol, folded cranes and epic battles ensue in between sizzling action. A highly entertaining read!!
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
This was a really good read! The writing flowed well from start to finish, and I liked Eli and Violet together for the most part. They had great chemistry in the bedroom, it was when they were interacting with each other out of it that I didn’t like. I know this is an enemies to lovers romance, but the enemies part lasted a little bit too long for my tastes. Violet liked Eli, but the second something went wrong, she was back to yelling at him and accusing him of stuff. Eli hadn’t given her a reason since they had reconnected to doubt him. It really irritated me. I was happy that they were able to work through it, and get their HEA. Eli’s family is great, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these brothers!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
WOW!! Loved this book and this author she can write. I have read everyone of them. this book is about two people that bicker back and forth and boy do they. and of course they have feelings for one other. the story goes from there. You don’t want to miss out on this one. I voluntary received this for a honest review.
Roxie Noir has delivered on all fronts with her latest release of Enemies With Benefits. If you are looking for an enemies to lovers read that includes quick verbal sparring, whitty and funny responses from both Violet and Eli, and a full cast of characters that make this story feel so real, then look no further. The author draws us in from the very beginning and just keeps us enthralled with Violet and Eli and their story of why they are home and back in each other’s lives. I enjoyed every minute of this read and hope we get to see more these two in future books.
First of all, YAY for a new Roxie book! And that cover definitely catches the eye. Okay anyways- this is an enemies to friends with benefits who aren’t friends situation. Lots of banter. These two were CRUEL to one another growing up. Wow. Like seriously ouch.
Violet and Eli are competitive and smart, they both had the chance to do bigger and better things, go far in life, but both ended up in their home town. At the same job. With a bonus to COMPETE for. I feel like they feed off each other’s energy and thrive on it. Plus the attraction is like sparks and fireworks between them. I also like Eli’s family- especially his mama. This was one of those books you don’t want to put down until it’s finished.
Violet and Eli blister up the pages from the first chapter. Their banter and constant bickering was so much fun to read!! I literally had trouble putting it down to do my normal day to day things. I really enjoyed everything about this book. It had a fun plot line and great characters that suck you in and don’t let go. It was sweet and sassy and everything I hoped it would be and more!!!
I love this book and this entire series! Enemies to lovers is my trope jam currently.
Well, this is certainly a good start to a new series. Ms. Noir is a new-to-me author, which is what I’m trying to read lately. I love discovering new authors that I want to read more from. Roxie Noir is definitely going on my list of “read future books.” Enemies with Benefits kept me reading well into the wee hours of the morning. Thank goodness I’m on fall break right now.
Eli and Violet have known one another all their lives. They’ve been rivals all their lives. It started somewhere around the first or second grade. Both of them had big plans to leave their little town of Spruceville, VA, and discover the world. Or, rather, take the world by storm. Only one of them made it out. But he crashed and burned in his first year of college. He went on to travel the world and found a niche for himself. But, now he’s back in Spruceville. He’s changed, but all Violet can see is that her nemesis is back and the competition is fiercer than ever.
These two have the greatest chemistry! Even in their sexy times (which don’t really mean anything), they are bantering back and forth. The snark in this book is real and extensive. Neither of them will give an inch. Theirs is a different, but unique, relationship that definitely works for them. It just takes them a while to figure it out. Enemies with Benefits is an entertaining, laugh-out-loud read that will keep you turning the pages.
This is the 2nd book I read by Roxie Noir. I felt sorry for Violet. I tried to connect with this story but I couldn’t with the characters.
Enemies-to-lovers is one of my favorite genres. This one is slightly different, and I loved every minute of it. Eli and Violet find that after growing up, they still hate each other, but they’re drawn to one another.
I would highly recommend this book. It is a quick read and can really turn a bad day around and make you smile. Sometimes the ones we need are right under our own noses but we just can’t see them!
Violet is having the worst date ever and her night gets progressively worse and the cherry on top is coming face-to-face with her childhood enemy. Eli Loveless was the bane of her existence growing up and they were rivals in every way. She had hoped to never see him again after graduation but he’s back in town and they keep running into one another. After her miserable weekend, Violet heads to work on Monday to discover Eli now works there, too.
They continue to clash at work but hating someone has never been so tough because Violet’s never been more attracted to anyone. They eventually succumb to the attraction and begin a friends-with-benefits arrangement despite the fact that they’re not actually friends but it doesn’t take long before feelings come into play. Their chemistry is off the charts but this is a slow-burn, which really ups the tension but it’s worth the wait.
Eli’s a very likeable character and although I quickly fell for Violet, she got kind of mean as the story progressed. She was downright cruel to Eli at times, which I didn’t enjoy. Eli’s mom eventually shares a secret that helps Eli — and the rest of us — understand Violet better, which changed my perspective.
This can be read as a standalone since it’s the first in the series but the supporting cast is mostly comprised of Eli’s brothers and I’m already interested in their stories. This is a fun read with a lot of heat so the Loveless Brothers series is new to my TBR list.
