Encouraging book.
No-one shall go through life without suffering loss in some way. This is an excellent book to help Christians work through their grief whilst maintaining their faith. It’s also great to read and remember when helping someone work through their grief. Suffering, loss, and grief is a part of life that has and shall touch each and every one of us. God doesn’t want us to go through this alone, this book helps us to remember that, drawing us back to His word and to Him.

Suffering. It’s a part of life and something we all endure at some point. In Enduring Trials God’s Way, Pastor Scott LaPierre takes you through a extensive look at the nature and purpose of suffering. As you read, you will learn that God’s main purpose for suffering is “my good and His glory.” God desires for trials to grow us in character and bring glory to Him; however, our hearts have to be ready to receive it. We all have two choices when it comes to trials: to become bitter or to become better.
You will be encouraged as you read about heroes of the faith enduring suffering such as Job, Abraham, Joseph, Peter, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Each one of them were humans and subject to the same weaknesses as we are, but even though all of them (except Jesus) stumbled, good things still came out of their trials.
In this book, there is a significant emphasis on the sufferings of Christ, especially when paralleled to Abraham, Joseph, and Job. Jesus had joy in suffering because His focus was on what the trial would accomplish. For me, this was the key takeaway! We need to keep the focus off ourselves and on what God’s purpose is – for the blessing received for enduring trials well is worth far more than the trial. Ultimately, while trials teach us to “let go and let God” as we live in light of eternity, they also bring us to a crossroads: will we stumble like Peter, fall like Judas, or trust like Abraham? The grand question is: “Will you trust God?”
I highly recommended this book to every disciple of Jesus Christ! Whether or not you’re in the midst of suffering right now or not, this book will give you some encouraging promises to cling to as well as fresh perspective on the truth that God still cares and is sovereign!

This book explains how to look at some of the most difficult to understand passages in scripture that so many of us have difficulty with – saying we must look at trials with joy. This sounds so hard, but the author simplifies it only the way he can. So many of us are knocked off our pegs by trials. No more! This book gives the struggling Christian the tools to deal with this difficult part of everyone’s life. A must read for those who want to mature and draw closer to our Lord.
I highly recommend my husband’s book for anyone going through trials, or for anyone who wants to be spiritually prepared for trials…which should include all of us :).
An inspiring read which will help you deal with all the ups and downs she may face as you go through life. It gives you some coping ideas to get through any downs you may be going through

Trails are a daily part of life and having someone like Scott show me how to endure them or help others endure them in a Godly manner is amazing.
Pastor La Pierre has provided thought-provoking and biblically supported way for God’s people to work through the trials that are a part of all of our lives. If we remember how Jesus was treated, how can we question what we are to endure? Jesus needed no “growth” through trial by fire as we do, and we do grow and are strengthened by trial, yet He was our model of behavior. Thank you, Pastor La Pierre for this wonderful book to further build our relationship with a Father who knows how to give good things to His children even if we do not see them as so good. God bless you.

The first chapter of this book is titled Expect Trials and it immediately grabbed my attention. Author Scott LaPierre explains that trials may be unpredictable but they are never accidents. He goes on to explain that “before trials reach us they must first pass through the thrones of God”. Accepting this is evidence that we believe that God is directing our lives and He is fully in control. The next eight chapters challenge, encourage, and instruct us in how to meet our trials head on. The author asserts that God uses these trials to truly know his people. Anyone can stumble—the difference is that non-believers stumble and fall but believers stumble, get up and turn back to their Father in Heaven I especially appreciate this assurance that God will not let Christians fall and I love the final point. Many of our Bible heroes who faced immense trials did not have the advantage that Christians enjoy today. True believers have God’s Word in its entirety and it is available to instruct us and encourage us when we don’t understand why God is sending these trials.
Scott LaPierre is also a minister and his knowledge of God’s Word is evident in the abundant use of Scripture that he uses to substantiate his statements. He has also included questions at the end of each chapter to further increase our knowledge and understanding. This is a book meant to be read, re-read and highlighted and I heartily recommend it.
