Very poor reading experience. –
I was excited to get this arc after reading Restless by this author. Unfortunately, the only time we got to see the beautiful cover is when we looked at it at amazon. We received a blank white page, text only PDF instead of a proper arc and we didn’t event get a title page just a blank white page as shown above in the first book position. It was very disappointing and I probably won’t do it again if that is how the author treats her readers. Covers are very important for me. I often buy based on the cover. So, I started off reading this arc already feeling let down by the author. I wish authors let us know ahead because I wouldn’t have bothered and the price to buy the book in Canada is off the hook so I wouldn’t have done that either. The story was love at first sight. It revolves around Zoey and Ty and when they first met she was smitten immediately but just already got heading off to college and his band is taking off on their first tour. Zoey breaks it off with Ty unselfishly so he can be free to go after his dreams but it is devastating for both of them. It takes 8 years for the same person who guilted her into letting him go to bring them back together. The separation was hard to read. It was heartbreaking for both. I voluntarily offered to read an arc- I didn’t get one but a cover less, text only copy without even a title page but, I am still leaving a review, discounting 1 star for the poor experience,
Book one in the Less Than Zero series. Full length told in dual POV with HEA. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Each band member gets their own book, with the secondary characters the same throughout the series. I liked the beginning with the young couple falling in love. I did not like the 8 years without contact. There is drama and angst when they finally make it back to each other. Lack of trust and forgiveness causes a lot of back & forth before finally moving forward. The epilogue was a sweet HEA for the main couple while also setting up the next book & couple.
I really enjoy the rock star trope so I was looking forward to reading this book. This author is new to me and I find it very impressive that this is her debut rock star romance! It took me a while to get into it and I liked Ty and Zoey but they had a lot of baggage trailing behind them and the angst that came along with the baggage was, I found, difficult to deal with which is no fault at all of the author or book, it’s all me! But all in all it was a good book.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Zoe and Ty have such an emotional and intense story. True soulmates, love at first sight. This book was a rollercoaster. It was filled with angst and really tough emotions. My heart hurt for the mistakes they made with each other.
I am every careful about reading intense emotional books like this. When they are good, they take a lot out of me. This one was good. I feel like I need to read the equivalent of a bubblegum pop song right now.

Zoey and Ty meet at his rock show, instantly fall in love and are ripped apart for “Ty’s own good and the good of the band”. Eight years later and they meet again. They have so much baggage to work through before they can even think of picking up where they left off. Sometimes these two are likeable and other times they are not. I struggled at times to get behind these two and believe in their story. I’m not a fan of the overuse of pet names, and his use of her pet name was a turn off due to how many times he said it. Some of the dialogue felt repetitive so I did find myself skimming. However, I still wanted to know how their story ended. I am curious to read Jace and Alex’s story.
Ty and Zoey have paid their dues. They deserve the happy ever after. The toll of being young, in love, and listening to others only made them stronger and more determined. I was captivated and drawn in from the first story and hope to read more.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book.
