There’s no such thing as a casual romance in this unforgettable Accidental Billionaires novel by New York Times bestselling author J. S. Scott.
After finishing a hard-won medical residency, Owen Sinclair now lives his dream as a family physician. The windfall that brought him newfound wealth has also made handsome Dr. Sinclair the town’s most eligible bachelor. But Owen’s eyes are on Layla, his … eyes are on Layla, his onetime best friend, his clinic’s dedicated nurse practitioner, and the one woman in Citrus Beach who has no interest in either his body or his billions.
In high school, Owen and Layla were always there for each other. Layla could confess almost anything to him. But wanting more than friendship was a confession too far, and Layla’s teenage longing was crushed in a heartbeat.
Two buried hurts are now in need of mending, and Owen has a proposition—if Layla is game. It’s a matter of trust as they discover so much more about the past, each other, and themselves. It’s not too late. Maybe they can make up for lost time. A love this true is worth the wait.

Can this book be read first yes but I promise you it’s so much better if you read the whole series….. A beautiful collection of characters and a story that keeps you turning the page…. Definitely a one sitting book.
If you’re a fan of second chance books, here is one for you. J.S. Scott writes some of the best and hottest second chance romance books around. The characters are realistic and situations are real as well.
Friends to enemies to friends to lovers with an alpha billionaire to boot!
The youngest Sinclair, Owen, has returned to Citrus beach and has purchased the clinic where his high school best friend, Layla, is working as a nurse practitioner. They were best of friends until right before they left for college. Back then, they both felt deeper feelings for each other than friendship, but they were both too scared to say anything. Now that they’re back in close quarters, they are forced to deal with those feelings that are resurfacing after all the years.
I absolutely loved watching them navigate their friendship, and feelings, as they continued to adjust to life as adults. Owen’s brothers play a part in helping him navigate what to do with how he feels towards Layla and I loved catching up with them!
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
Owen has decided to settle down in his hometown. Having bought a practice he now has to deal with his former best friend Layla. For the life of him he has no clue why she hates him.
Layla can’t believe her luck that Owen bought the practice she is working in. How is she going to handle working with Owen after he purpose ruined her chance for a scholarship. Or did he?
People should never assume and should talk to each other. I love that these two found each other!
Book 5 in Accidental billionaire by J. S. Scott
Owen is one of younger Sinclair that is the family doctor but feels like he doesn’t fit in the family he has now especially after the money they inherited from the original Sinclair family.
Layla and Owen were bff in high school but after a awful incident between the two they stopped talking.
Layla is a qualified nurse practitioner and works in the hospital that Owen now owns.
Absolutely loved this book so much heartbreak and misunderstanding between the two. Love the way they work through there problems and eventually being in a relationship.
Can not beat J. S. Scott for billionaire romance. If you haven’t read the original Sinclair definitely need to check them out.
5 Finding Love With His Best Friend Stars!!!
I’ve been waiting for Owen’s story since I started this series and let me just say the wait has been worth it. Owen is everything I love about a Hero… somewhat geeky, but filled with love and compassion and really not letting his overnight wealth change him too much. He and Layla were best friends in high school and things have definitely changed for both of them through the years and to say she wasn’t excited to be working with Owen is putting it mildly!!
I adore Layla and everything she’s accomplished in her life given her background and how she’s really reached her goals because of her hard work and determination. I also laughed a few times when she didn’t trip over herself when Owen returns to Citrus Beach seeing as his this newly minted billionaire and oh so handsome!! But Owen is determined to not only get their friendship back to also see what lies beyond that “friend-zone.”
I loved how this book is paced allowing us to see how their friendship and love grew and that it wasn’t given easily. Layla is the perfect woman for Owen but nothing about her life has been easy and how Owen accepted her past made my heart happy! On the flip side, Layla refused to treat Owen any differently now that he’s the most eligible bachelor in Citrus Beach. In other words, they’re truly each other’s perfect match.
Ms. Scott has truly delivered in this last book and I’m not going to lie and say I’m a little sad to be losing these characters as I’ve grown to love them throughout this series! This book by far is my favorite of the series because it really is about finding love when you least expect it or want it and that when a heart is open to accepting love it can give love in return no matter what happened in the past!
I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.
I have mixed emotions with this book. I am so happy to finally get Owen’s story, but so sad because it brings an end to the Accidental Billionaires series. Endeared is book 5 in the Accidental Billionaires series. It tells the story of Owen Sinclair, the youngest of the Sinclair clan, and Layla, who was once Owen’s best friend. Owen, Andie (from Enchanted, Accidental Billionaires, book 4) and Layla were friends from school. Owen had feelings for Layla in high school, but did not say anything because he was afraid to lose her friendship, and as soon as he graduated he was leaving for medical school. Layla also had a crush on Owen, but never said anything because she did not want to lose his friendship. Layla has a horrible situation at home, and never shared it with anyone. As high school is ending there are events that happen to Layla, which ruins everything she had planned for herself after high school, and she fully blames Owen for these events. Owen has been away for years attending medical school and focusing on getting through his residency and has not really seen his family. He has tried to reach out to Layla, but has never heard from her. Ten years later and Owen is now a doctor and is returning home to Citrus Beach and will be taking over the clinic there, and much to his surprise, his high school friend Layla is the nurse practitioner there. He never really focused on his billionaire status; as he was too busy becoming a doctor. Now back home and Owen feels a disconnect with his family, does not know how to handle being a billionaire, and he really wants to find out why Layla hates him so much. That is all I am saying, so I do not spoil it for anyone. Endeared is everything I hoped for and more. The character development is perfect. You will be experiencing a lot of emotions with Owen and Layla’s story. J. S. Scott is an amazing author, and you can always count on drama, plans being hatched, groveling, hot steamy scenes, did I mention groveling, and a wonderful ending. I am a huge fan of J. S. Scott. I have read all of her books, and not one of them has left me disappointed. I highly recommend Endeared. A definite must read! You will not be disappointed. Thank you J. S. Scott for another amazing series. Cannot wait to see what you have in store for us next.
Owen Sinclair now has it all after struggling through medical school. He has more money than he can ever spend in his lifetime and a great medical practice. His nurse practitioner happens to be his childhood friend but somewhere along the way they stopped being friends and Layla is angry with him but won’t tell him what is wrong. Owen is determined to figure out what is going on so he comes up with a way to spend more time with her and hopefully find out once and for all if they can make up for lost time and have a happy ever after since she is the only woman he wants in his life.
I have enjoyed the Sinclair series and getting to know these siblings and share in their journey to happy ever after. Owen Sinclair’s story rounds out the series quite nicely. Endeared is about two people who struggled in their lives with very different hardships but in spite of that turned their lives into something good. Owen and Layla definitely were two people who deserved something good to happen to them and to be able to come together and learn to trust was a good foundation for these two once they decide to give love a chance. Although there is a very sexy hero and lots of steam between the H&H this is actually a very sweet romance. I definitely recommend Endeared as well as the other books in this series.
Endeared is the fifth and final installment in J.S. Scott’s The Accidental Billionaire’s series. After a misunderstanding of sorts, Layla Caine and Owen Sinclair find themselves in the same orbit again. Best friends during high school Layla believed Owen had betrayed her and thus she turned her back on their friendship.
Owen returns to Citrus Beach and purchases the medical practice where Layla works. He can’t understand why Layla is so cold to him. Layla finally confronts Owen with what she thought occurred in high school only to discover she was completely mistaken. She’d placed her trust in the wrong friend and was devastated when she discovered what she’d done.
I enjoyed Owen and Layla’s story and the way Ms. Scott wrapped up the series. The ending was perfect and wasn’t ruined with introducing characters that didn’t fit the storyline who were only present to set-up the next book in the series. I received an advance copy of Endeared which I chose to read. I recommend it and the entire Accidental Billionaire’s series.
J.S. Scott has definitely saved the best for last! Endeared – the fifth and final book in The Accidental Billionaires series – was what readers’ dreams are made of. I’ve been a huge fan of this incredibly talented author for years now and I’ve grown to love and care about the Sinclairs like they were real and my beloved friends. It’s always bittersweet to say goodbye to a great series but I’m so grateful for the many hours of happiness and contentment these books have brought me.
There is something special about the way Jan writes these characters that speaks to my heart and soul. Her billionaires are gorgeous Alphas who are possesive and protective and a little bit obsessed with their women. They’re generous with their money and love and they take care of their families and friends. This is exactly the kind of romance heroes I want to read about in books. Jan’s heroines are strong, independant and smart women who are living self-determined lives but don’t mind having a bossy and attentive man at their side who likes to take the lead occasionally.
Owen Sinclair and Layla Caine grew up in the poor and less safe area in Citrus Beach and have been best friends in high school. They confided in each other and encouraged one another to pursue their goals and dreams. Both didn’t have an easy life with Owen being raised by his barely older siblings after their mother died and Layla fighting to keep afloat despite an absentee father and indifferent mother. They had a secret crush on each other but didn’t act upon it since Owen went to Boston for college while Layla stayed in California. Now years later Owen is the most eligible bachelor in Citrus Beach and has taken over the local clinic as a family physician where Layla works as a nurse practitioner. She neither wants his money nor to rekindle their former friendship, much to Owen’s frustration and regret. But then he comes up with a proposition which should help them to discover more about each other and make up for lost time because a love like theirs is absolutely worth waiting for…
Owen Sinclair is a true dreamboat. He has such a kind and generous heart. Although he was rich as sin he didn’t care about materialistic things. He just wanted to help other people with his wealth. I truly admired this about him. He worked hard for his degree and denied himself a lot of things in the process. But as soon as he saw his former crush again he knew that he needed to have her and he put all his effort into gaining Layla’s trust and love. All the things he did for her made me swoon hard and worship the ground he walks on.
Layla Caine is a selfless and caring do-gooder. She loves her job and she volunteers at the local animal shelter. Although she went through some truly heartbreakingly tragic things in her past she managed to pick herself up and make a good life for herself. I was deeply impressed with her and adored her for being such a genuine person who loved Owen for his values and deeds and didn’t care about his money or status. He needed a woman like her by his side who shared his ideals. They were a perfect match made in romanceland heaven and will make you believe in soulmates.
I’ve devoured this wonderful friends to lovers story from start to finish and thoroughly enjoyed the cameo appearances of some of my beloved characters from Jan’s previously published books. I recommend Endeared wholeheartedly and strongly encourage you to pick it up and let author J.S. Scott put you under her magical spell. I’m giving this precious gem 5 well-deserved stars and am shelving it among my top favorites!
I’ve just finished reading Endeared with tears of utter joy and happiness running down my face! It was such an emotional, thought provoking and heartbreakingly beautiful story that got deep under my skin. Despite some heavy topics it was still a very romantic and sweet read. Books like this are exactly the reason I love reading! I’ve already said it a hundred times that JS Scott is the unquestioned queen of Billionaire romance and it’s still true. Nobody writes them better than her. I thought that after all this time, she couldn’t impress me more than she has done already, but she proved me wrong! Because Endeared isn’t only my top favorite book in the Accidental Billionaires series, it’s also one of the best ones JS Scott has ever written.
Layla Caine and Owen Sinclair have once been best friends in high school who were always there for each other, until they weren’t. Over ten years later they’re back in each other’s lives and forced to work together in the same clinic. Owen, once dirt poor, is now a handsome doctor who has turned into a Billionaire over night. He’s one of the most eligible bachelors every woman in Citrus Beach, California wishes to capture, except one: Layla, the gorgeous nurse practioner who is avoiding him at every occasion. Unwilling to accept their situation, Owen will make a proposition to Layla, she won’t be able to refuse. By spending time together and unburding themselves, they will discover more about each other and their past. Is it too late for forgiveness? Or is a true love like theirs worth the wait?
Gosh how much I loved Owen and Layla! They were perfect for each other. I was cheering for them right from the start and hoping that they can leave the past behind and work towards a future together. Once they renewed their friendship and trusted each other again, the romantic feelings that were always there resurfaced. I loved their amazing chemistry and sexy banter!
Dr. Owen Sinclair was a dreamboat. He was a great combination of a little nerdy, a lot of possessive and extremely protective. And let’s not forget how compassionate, giving and sweet he was. He had also a bossy, dominant side in the bedroom that made him a very own version of an alpha Billionaire. I absolutely adored him!
Layla was such an amazing heroine! She went through so much pain in her young life. My heart was breaking for her! I admired her for so many reasons, especially for turning into a loving, caring and good hearted woman, despite growing up in a dysfunctional family environment.
I can’t believe that we’ve reached the end of the Accidental Billionaires series. I’m not ready to say goodbye to my beloved Sinclair family from Citrus Beach! I’ve become very emotionally attached to all these amazing characters and sincerely hope, that we will see them again in JS Scott’s future books. Thank you dear Jan for writing this highly entertaining and absolutely unputdownable story and ending this series on such a high note! I bow to your unsurpassed talent and putting this gem on my top favorite reads shelf of 2020. 5 stars
When she was a teenager Layla had a very difficult life that she never shared with anyone and that included her best friend Owen. Even though her feelings for him were deeper than friendship she never told him and allowed a misunderstanding to separate them for a decade. Not only is Owen back in town but he is also her boss so when she realizes her mistake and he asks a favor of her she can’t say no.
After Owen found out he was a billionaire instead of working as a doctor in a rural location to payoff his student loans he was able to purchase a clinic back in his hometown. Now that they have cleared up the misunderstanding he is determined to show her that they are meant to be together and has devised the perfect plan to ensure she spends time with him but when they become close he realizes that there is so much more to her than he ever knew.
Their connection between them goes far beyond the physical as Layla shows that she is stronger than even she realizes, and Owen is the champion she needs in her life. Not only are Owen and Layla captivating characters but catching up with all the characters we know, and love is always fun.
I loved Owen and Layla’s story. How a simple miss understanding could rob them of years that they could have been together. The the Sinclair Family.
Endeared (The Accidental Billionaires Book 5) by J.S. Scott
Rating : 4 out of 5 stars
The book starts us off ten years before as Layla and Owen prepare for college. It’s a sweet discussion that brings hopes and dreams for the two young adults. Readers can feel the sorrow that two friends have to part ways for college in different parts of the country.
Fast forward to ten years later; both characters ended up working for each other – Owen as the doctor that acquired the clinic that Layla was working for a while now. Their unexpected reunion didn’t have the effect that Owen first thought would be. Layla has been trying her best to avoid the boy she hung out often in high school because of something that happened during their last days of school. That is where the story takes an interesting take from friends to enemies to “more”.
I could say that this book has excellent progression. It spans for more than ten years and brings back Layla and Owen when building their careers. It tells us a lot about their strong friendship and trust but what came out of a strong turned into a crumbling tower brought forth by geographical distance.
Both main characters are flawed or ‘broken’ in some way. They might be successful professionals, but they still have their backgrounds that seem to put their self-worth into question each time they are together.
Trust had to be rebuilt by Layla, and Owen after the “truth” came out. I feel for Owen, who was oblivious to what was wrong with the friendship, and Layla shutting down on him till he took matters on his own hands and talked about it. It was a great relief as I read it since it seems like a big misunderstanding and cleared up within a few chapters at the start.
**Please note that this book touches a bit on depression. Some scenes may trigger some readers. I appreciate some discussion on the topic and steps taken to cope and slowly overcome this disease. There is a section after the book that J.S. shares with readers to bring awareness. I hope you do read through it and let others know that there are ways to cope and overcome depression before its too late.
I enjoy love stories like these wherein there is a steady foundation forming between two characters. It is not the typical “insta-love” and more like growing love over the years. The trust that comes out from these types of relationships develops into something deeper, a mature look at how friends become something more in the end. I can say that this book rounds out the feeling of young love to true love.
I appreciate books that create good, strong family bonds, and this book shows the whole family, even extended family members. Without knowing it – one of Owen’s family members met at an eventful evening in the past, made it possible for Owen and Layla to end up together a decade later. They reunite again weirdly at an online chat service that I found adorable!
I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy reading about a love tested through time and distance, loves ‘second chance’ romances, and loves main characters with flaws but find the strength to pursue the love and life they deserve. The books are in a series to get to know the other Sinclairs and Montgomerys in the story. I know it will surely be an interesting read since it’s from J.S. Scott!
I fell in love with Owen on previous book from this series. Boy ever did I truely fall in love with him in this story. Layla is amazing and lovely human that had me wanting to learn more. I was blown away reading this, DID NOT WANT TO PUT IT DOWN. A must read and while ur at it make sure to grab the rest of the series. U will not be disappointed. Thank u Mrs. Scott for another amazing story. U never fell to amaze me. U are truely a fabulous author and can’t wait to see what’s next.
4.5 STARS
ENDEARED by J.S. Scott. This was truly a heartbreaking and a heartwarming tale, all wrapped up into one. I adored both Owen and Layla. Both characters had to overcome so much and yet, still made something of themselves. Ms. Scott sure does know how to pull at the heartstrings in this one! I ran the mix of emotions throughout – feeling hurt for them and cheering for them too. This series has been terrific (although I believe this can be read as a standalone) and I look forward to the next one Ms. Scott shares with us! (received ARC for honest review)
Endeared by J.S. Scott was a very good read. Owen and Layla were friends in school but a misunderstanding tore them apart. Years later their paths meet. Can they put the past behind them and become friends again and the lovers that they both secretly want. The book did not disappoint!
A beautiful second chance love story
It’s J.S. Scott so it’s a painfully won happy ever after with misunderstandings and secrets.
Laughter and tears with healing that happens together
I’m so sad that the Sinclair’s are finished, I have loved getting to know all of the siblings
Endeared (The Accidental Billionaires book 5) by J.S Scott is a 5 star read.
Owen and Layla had secret crushes on each other in high school with neither able to say the words out loud, Owen heads off to school to become a doctor. Many years pass before these two are thrown together again and now Layla seems to hate Owen, determined to get to the bottom off it Owen tries his hardest to get his former friend and now work colleague to open up to him and realise they were meant to be together.
This is one of my favourite stories by this author, her writing style keeps you interested from the first page until the last.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book through Netgalley.
Another easy yet addictive read. Endeared is Owen and Layla’s story. I love a good second chance romance, but this isn’t a good one, it’s a great one! Owen was, just like his brothers before him, an easy character to love, he is protective and fiercely loyal. I loved his approach to winning Layla over! Layla was sweet and sassy but also fierce and determined – all fantastic qualities in a leading lady!
The story was written beautifully. The pace of the book was spot on and many of the characters that we have come to love from previous books made an appearance. I love the dynamics of the different relationships. The relationship between ‘Dreamer’ and ‘Dark’ was very intriguing throughout the book, and I must admit I was wrong in my thinking about Dark’s identity. And when that came out, I will admit I may have had a lump in my throat.
The book was full of emotion; I always find that this author subtly makes you feel the emotions, and although they build gradually the end result packs one heck of a punch.
Can’t wait for more from this author.
