#1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci returns with his most breathtaking thriller yet Will Robie and Jessica Reel are two of the most lethal people alive. They’re the ones the government calls in when the utmost secrecy is required to take out those who plot violence and mass destruction against the United States. And through every mission, one man has always had their backs: their … always had their backs: their handler, code-named Blue Man.
But now, Blue Man is missing.
Last seen in rural Colorado, Blue Man had taken a rare vacation to go fly fishing in his hometown when he disappeared off the grid. With no communications since, the team can’t help but fear the worst.
Sent to investigate, Robie and Reel arrive in the small town of Grand to discover that it has its own share of problems. A stagnant local economy and a woefully understaffed police force have made this small community a magnet for crime, drugs, and a growing number of militant fringe groups.
But lying in wait in Grand is an even more insidious and sweeping threat, one that may shake the very foundations of America. And when Robie and Reel find themselves up against an adversary with superior firepower and a home-court advantage, they’ll be lucky if they make it out alive, with or without Blue Man . . .

Will and Jessica are both damaged people who have a very hard time getting close to another person. It has been very interesting watching their relationship develop. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Another enjoyable book by this author, have never been disappointed
David Baldacci does it again! Interesting plot and great characters. Always a pleasure.
Not his usual over the top thriller. Interesting premise but kind of disjointed. It was hard to join the tension between Ribey & Reel with a very implausible tale.
It kept you guessing up to the end as to who was the bad guys that were responsible for blue man’s disappearance.
I enjoy all of Baldacci’s books
Anything he writes is a great read…you don’t want to put the book down.
Another great book!
Excellent, action-packed read from beginning to end. Baldacci never fails to entertain!
Surprisingly uneven writing for this author, swings from exciting read to boring and back again within a few pages. I found myself leafing through pages to get past the tedious bits. Disappointing.
An engaging and fast-paced story conflating several subplots: the impact on Robie and Reel of being the most lethal people alive – professionally and personally – long past events with current impacts on the people involved and a once rich trust fund child and brilliant youthful scientist combining to take over the opiate drug market with a massive lab in a former missile silo in Colorado using slave labor and killing all who even suspect their plan. A straightforward assignment – find their boss, the Blue Man – succeeds but only after Robie and Reel are forced numerous times to demonstrate their lethal skills.
I couldn’t put it down. It was engaging to the end. He is a brilliant writer and I can’t get enough.
One of my favorite authors
I’ve read all Baldacci’s books, he’s one of the best. Well written, hard to put down, exciting and a real thriller.
It’s Baldacci, I have never read anything by him that wasn’t really good!
David Baldaci never disappoints
It was awesome!

Baldacci makes me think when reading his adventure books. I wasn’t sure his characters could the torture.
Baldacci always delivers, and this is just one more great example of it. He is simply a great story-teller.
