When elite members of the military are murdered on the streets of Washington, DC, FBI Special Agent Bailey Ryan and NCIS Special Agent Marco Agostini must work together to bring the perpetrator to justice. Unfortunately, all evidence points to a Navy SEAL sniper whom Bailey refuses to believe is guilty. This book involves several different areas of government agencies to solve a horrible crime. Bailey is with the FBI and she was assigned to this case with Marco from NCIS due to one of the victims being from the Navy. Little did they know how far they would have to reach to truly find answers for the innocent victims. I really liked how strong Marco’s faith was. His references to God and his faith throughout the book warmed my heart. I also really likes the fact that there is a lot of support among the women within this book. My favorite quote was “As awful as this life can get, there’s an eternity ahead of us. This is just our temporary situation. A fallen world, and we’re all broken people.”
The reason for 4 out of 5 stars is because the storyline sometimes was a little hard for me to follow all of the different agencies that were incorporated and all of the different characters who were mentioned. That could have also been difficult for me because I wasn’t able to dedicate long periods of time to read the book, I had to do it in short increments.
All in all, I would recommend this book if you like contemporary inspirational love stories I received a copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All opinions in this review are my own.
END. GAMES ……..Rachel Dylan
A similar case in three days, bring Marco from NCIS and Bailey from the FBI. to be working together on the case.A common labor worker and an elite military person. They disagree on the evidence pointing to a sniper in the navy as the killer. Things heat up in romance, and when a target is aimed at her. It is a tense tight plot with the different branches. Along with 3 women are friends, in high demanding jobs. From this first book one can tell it will be a series readers will want to read. Given Arc for my voluntary review and my honest opinion by Net Galley and Bethany House.
The author begins this book with us wondering what is going on, and when independent government agencies come together, you know this is something big happening here.
When more tragic victims are put down, the team is attacking all different leads to bring down the culprits.
When facts start to be revealed, I wondered if this isn’t a true story, but I sure hope not.
Evil perpetrates more evil here, but we hope justice will prevail, and with the hit squad trying to take out our agents, well, we hope all will survive.
We are offered non-stop action, and a real page turner for answers, and maybe throw in a little romance, but this one is a winner!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Bethany House and was not required to give a positive review.
This is an amazing start to a new series written by the talented Rachel Dylan. The intrigue grips you from the beginning and continues throughout the story. Three murders put Bailey, an FBI special agent and Marco, an NCIS agent together. At first there is so e friction between the agencies but these two work together beautifully. As they work together the find that other agencies are involved and there are some higher ups who are manipulating the investigation. There are a lot of other characters involved and we learn about them and their involvement in this investigation. This story is a page turner and is wrapped up nicely. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
(Thank you to the author and publisher for an advanced reader copy of this book! All opinions are of my own wording.)
End Game by Rachel Dylan
Heart stopping. Keeps you on your toes! And definite page turner!
I read this in 2 days! From the very first page your attention is grabbed! From the whirlwind of different deaths, to the on-going investigation, and all of the different characters. I found myself rooting for the accused suspect and devastated later on. Also the interaction between all of the different agents and lawyers was really good. I really enjoyed the whole aspect of this story and really felt like it was playing out before my eyes!
This was a great read and I look forward to the next one!
Rachel Dylan has once again written an engaging, suspense-filled tale that will keep readers enjoying the book until the conclusion. In her newest series, Rachel introduces us to three friends Baily, Layla and Vivian who bonded while attending law school. Each woman has a career that causes her to have secrets from each other, but it doesn’t inhibit their friendship. Then readers are introduced to NCIS Marco Agostini who admittedly wears his heart on his sleeve so to speak. He is upfront and direct, but he also knows how to bring justice.
What starts out as just a simple mystery involving a contractor’s death turns into a vast web of murderous and possible treasonous activities. Soon other agencies and agents are involved in attempting to find out why particular deaths have occurred, seem random and not related, but where will the facts lead the investigators?
I found the suspense-filled story very engaging and exciting from start to finish. The author does a masterful job of painting her characters so real it was amazing. The story kept going deeper into the world of military, legal, and other law enforcement personnel that I often wondered how it was all going to come together. Rachel Dylan really takes her audience on a rollercoaster ride with the FBI agent, NCIS, Army Rangers and a host of others. I kept turning pages to see where the action was leading.
In the novel, there are romance and relationships building between other characters that make me wonder if the author will bring some of them back in future books. I have read other stories by this author and here I can see how much the author has grown in her skills of telling a tale that entertains and keeps readers up until they finish the book. I personally cannot wait to read the next installment in the series to see what new mystery, suspense and possible romances are going to bloom! Don’t miss the start of Rachel Dylan’s new and exciting series!

Another great book by Ms. Dylan. I had to force myself to go to bed instead of read. The suspense just kept going. Bailey and Marco join forces to catch the person responsible for the murders of a Seal, Ranger, and a seemingly unrelated person. Then someone starts trying to kill Bailey. Only she doesn’t know what information she has worth killing for.
I recommend this book to those who like suspense. Be warned, you won’t want to put it down either. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
I was given this book by Bethany House Publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
As is the norm with Rachel Dylan books I couldn’t put it down once I started it! She keeps you turning pages to figure it out! Can’t wait for the next one!
Excellent start to a new romantic thriller series by Dylan. This book kept me turning pages as the different governmental agencies worked together to solve the murders of elite military men. I found myself rooting the team on and feeling their pain. I loved each of the characters and feel invested in their lives. I can’t wait until the next book.
*I was given a copy of this book by the publisher and this is my honest opinion.
Wow! This novel exceeds all expectations, a new level of excellence of the author! It is in-depth, terrifying yet full of faith and hope, full of action with one startling event after another. This Christian thriller includes men and women working for some of the most elite areas of government and military. I very much like the well-defined women in this novel who are authentic with other women, as well as the two men on the team to discover who killed the Navy SEAL and Army Ranger while trying to frame another SEAL for the crime. While for me it is secondary to this fabulous web of deceit, romance is possible for at least one of the women and healing found only in Christ to two of the women.
FBI Special Agent Bailey Ryan is called to the crime scene of a second victim in 3 days of the same type of murder. Upon arrival, she meets NCIS Special Agent Marco Agostini. The first murdered man a few days ago was a construction worker. This man, however, is a Navy SEAL. NCIS doesn’t want to share, despite there being the risk of a serial killer and the SEAL being off duty. A couple well-placed calls brings Bailey to be a member on the investigative team Agostini leads. He calls the young woman on his team “Rookie”; she has worked for him for less than a year.
Bailey, a law school graduate and FBI agent, is used to taking the evidence to build a case. Marco is a man of action, wanting to interview those who knew the victims and revisit crime scenes. Regarding Rogers, the civilian, some saw him as too quiet, and thought he was the killer-for-hire type of guy. The platoon leader of murdered SEAL Sean Battle did not believe another SEAL would have killed him. While they felt Lt. Alvarez was protecting someone, he wasn’t giving up any secrets.
When examining Battle’s storage locker, Marco and Bailey barely escape before explosives go off. Evidence at both crime scenes indicates another SEAL was there. An Army Ranger was found murdered. Bailey was assaulted in her parking garage. And it only heats up from there.
There are several things that impress me about this novel beyond the incredible plot. The author demonstrates God’s daily love for the men and women in the book and miracles are seen along with the prayers of His people. I like how vital the friendships of women are shown to be and miss having these close friendships in my own life. The women are open and honest about themselves with each other, and welcome other women into their activities. I appreciate how just the right mentor, and friends, come into Izzy’s life at the right time.
This is a fabulous, intricate mystery with complex characters and multiple possible suspects. It becomes evident that criminal activities come from the highest levels and that Bailey is in the crosshairs of the most dangerous even as those behind the murder are not yet identified. It was impossible for this reader to determine the truth, including the motives behind the murders, and there are surprises throughout. I highly recommend this to fans of Christian romantic thrillers, various federal and military levels, espionage, and seeing faith in the Lord during even the hardest times.
From a thankful heart: I received an ARC of this novel from the publisher and NetGalley, and this is my honest review.
I received the book in the mail after work on New Year’s Eve. I started reading it around 6:30 pm New Year’s Eve and only stopped to refill coffee cup and let out the dog. I could not put this book down. Finished reading it around 12:30 a.m. New Year’s Day. It’s a really good book and you just want to keep reading to find out what happens. Loved the story line, loved the flow of the story and the characters are all really good and build-able stories in themselves! Can’t wait for the next book!
I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my review!
“One thing you’ll learn in this job is that we see some of the hard truths. The darker side of humanity. And there’s one fact we have to come to grips with. Even those we believe are heroes can sometimes be villains.”
This was like watching a favorite episode of NCIS for me and I imagined Gibbs voice in my head as things played out on the pages! I really like how Dylan pulls together NCIS, FBI, JAG, Navy SEALS, and Army CID to solve the homicides that take them by surprise and continue to scramble the puzzle pieces around. With each clue, they seem to be getting closer to the killer or killers, and then something else is thrown in to make them question everything all over again. It was interesting trying to connect the dots and follow the paper trail along with Marco and Bailey. Dylan ramps up the danger even more when they start targeting Bailey. What a ride!
I also appreciate the faith thread Dylan weaves throughout the story. I admire Bailey’s concrete, steadfast, unchanging faith in God no matter the circumstances or how dire things got. She helped bolster Marco’s shaky world and remind him of who God is. When they focused on that, I think it made them a stronger team. Talking about team, there’s many characters who play a vital role in the story. Bailey’s best gal friends Viv & Layla, Izzy, Jay, and Lexi, just to name a few. I really enjoyed getting to know them as well and look forward to future stories featuring them.
All in all, this was a terrific story that kept suspenseful, high-octane, and kept you in the dark until the end. Like I said, my favorite part was trying to tie the knots together along with the team involved in the case. Dylan knows her stuff when it comes to this sort of story!
*I received a complimentary copy from Bethany House and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinion are my own. *
The most recent release from Rachel Dylan is an exciting, seat-of-your-pants military suspense novel that hooks the reader from the first word. Set in Washington DC, FBI Special Agent Bailey Ryan and NCIS Special Agent Marco Agostini are in a race to find out who is murdering elite members of the military.
In their crosshairs is a Navy Seal sniper, but something isn’t quite right. Bailey can’t believe it is something the Seal would do alone, and as she digs a strategically, well-hidden trail begins to appear. As Bailey and Marco form a team to investigate, someone ups the ante by trying, almost succeeding, to kill Bailey.
Sparks are in the are as gun battles ensue, but that not the only thing sparking…Bailey and Marco are experiencing their own kind of personal sparks. An FBI Special Agent and an NCIS Special Agent together? Who says the two government agencies don’t play nice?
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and am under no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions therein are solely my own, and freely given.
“These people are willing to kill to protect their secrets.”
One by one, members of the most highly trained branches of the US military are being murdered in cold blood; not to mention that one of their own is the prime suspect, although the Navy SEAL vehemently insists upon his innocence. When NCIS Special Agent Marco Agostini and FBI Special Agent Bailey Ryan form an investigative team to track down the killer or killers, the clues they unearth multiply into questions that quickly spiral out of control. They’ve stumbled onto something bigger than they ever imagined; including their own unexpected attraction.
“End Game” proves to be an exacting blend of story and character, and although the plot moves quickly, the reader has no reason to feel rushed in and out of the story. The secondary characters are beautifully layered in between the primary ones, and the inspirational elements; although light, are strategically placed. But what seals the deal, so to speak, is the brilliant plotting, which is nearly impossible to crack, which makes this “end game” all the more enjoyable.
I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. The opinions stated are entirely my own.
I loved “End Game” by Rachel Dylan! This is the start of a new series for her, and I can’t wait to read the next one.
FBI Agent Bailey Ryan and NCIS Agent Marco Agostini come together in this novel as some elite military members are murdered. Evidence points to a Navy Seal whom Bailey doesn’t believe is guilty. There are many twists and turns in this novel. I was very surprised many times throughout!
I highly recommend this novel to anyone who enjoy good, clean, suspenseful fiction. Rachel Dylan is one of my favorite authors. I have never been disappointed in any of her books.
I received this from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.
What happens when you put the FBI, NCIS, CIA, WSI and Pentagon together all in one book? A heart thumping story of great intrigue by Rachel Dylan. Not only an award winning author, but also a lawyer, she can weave a storyline that will keep you captive until the last page is turned.
Murders of three men, two of them high ranking military, initially brings together the FBI and NCIS in Bailey and Marco respectively. As the mystery increases more are brought in to help. Team meetings, safe houses, attempted kidnappings and flying bullets are all part of the draw in this story.
And it’s sprinkled with just enough romance to keep the characters realistic. Although this can be read as a stand-alone, I’m looking forward to continuing this capital intrigue series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through the author but was not required to write a review positive or otherwise.
This new book by Rachel Dylan shows her readers how versatile she is at taking a complicated plot and drawing us into it quickly. This is the first book in a new series called Capital Intrigue, and it definitely hooked me right from the beginning when military special ops men are being killed, seemingly randomly. When multiple agencies are called to investigate, Special Agent Bailey Ryan meets NCIS agent Marco Agostini. The case is twisted, with a lot of secrets that are hidden being revealed and a plot that reaches deep into the bowels of the most secret agency in the U.S. Bailey and Marco are tasked with unraveling the clues and following them to solve the mysteries of the deaths of the SEALS as well as evade being killed themselves. Bailey becomes a vulnerable target during the investigation and that whole sub-plot is edge of the seat reading. This is a book that you will want to set aside time to read from start to finish because it is really hard to put down! Fans of romantic suspense will really enjoy END GAME, and will look forward to the next book in the series!

After enjoying Rachel Dylan’s Atlanta Justice series, I was excited to dig into a new one. The Capital Intrigue series is one that will follow three female friends who met while in law school and joined different governmental agencies. We are introduced to each of them in End Game, but it centers mostly around Bailey.
This novel was very easy for me to get into and I was able to picture the setting as if I were standing right beside the characters. The intensity was palpable with a clear sense of urgency. I liked that although there were twists and turns, the content kept the plot moving which kept me invested in the story.
The pace of this novel was well laid out. The initial crime left the team with a lot of questions but throughout their investigation they picked up puzzle pieces along the way that pushed them forward. As some of them start to fit together, you’re still wondering what the big picture is, knowing the solution can’t be far from your grasp.
And now it’s time to sit and impatiently wait for the next book in the series to release. If you haven’t picked up any of Rachel Dylan’s books yet I highly recommend them. Just don’t start them at night…or you might be up for a while 😉
*I received a copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers. Thoughts and opinions expressed are mine alone.
End Game is an exciting thrill ride from start to finish. An intriguing conspiracy and possible cover-up made it unputdownable. I was feverishly turning the pages to find out just what exactly was going on. I couldn’t read it fast enough. There were lots of twists and turns I didn’t see coming. It kinda reminded me of an episode of one of those really good TV crime shows.
There was a full cast of likable characters with Bailey and Marco taking the lead. They were a great pair. So different in their approaches to things, but I think that’s what made them such a good team.
End Game is exactly the type of suspense that I love. Lots of action, a good mystery, and a side dose of romance. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense. I can’t wait for book two!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.
“I think they might be keeping dead bodies in their condo”. Any book that starts off with that sentence you know you are in for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I could not put this book down I really wanted to know what was going to happen next. The author truly keeps you guessing from beginning to end. At one point I thought I had it all figured out and then the author would throw in a twist and keep you winding what was going to happen next. I really can’t say I had a favorite character in this book I have to say I really enjoyed everyone on the team for all different reasons and I really want to know what happens with them. I like Izzy and how she held back but when things needed done she got them done. This book is a good clean read and you will not regret reading this book. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion
