A Recommended Read!!!
What a fantastic start to a new series! Rachel Dylan kicks it up another notch with End Game, where action and adrenaline flow rapidly as an FBI agent and a NCIS specialist unravel a tightly woven conspiracy that becomes murderous. The plot is detailed and well-constructed with interesting twists and turns and how it all came together at the end was really fascinating. The storyline is easy to follow and each event had me turning the pages a little faster to try to figure out what really happened.
Bailey and Marco are both easy to like and cheer for. Bailey, in her structured, regimented way, is relatable and understandable. Marco, in his easy-going, spontaneous way, is quite lovable. The romance did not overshadow the suspense component of the story and balanced out the multiple near-death escapes. If you enjoy romantic suspense, this book is a must-read. I’m anxiously waiting for the next installment!
I received a copy of the book from Bethany House and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
In End Game, FBI Special Agent Bailey Ryan teams up with NCIS Special Agent Marco Agostini to solve the murders of several victims. While the first is a civilian, the others are elite military. Are the murders connected? Will they find the perpetrator before others fall victim? Although evidence points to a Navy SEAL sniper, Bailey doesn’t believe it. When it becomes clear that there is a coverup, she becomes a target. Now who can they trust? The more they uncover, the more the truth is unclear and the more danger they find themselves in.
Readers will be engaged from the first chapter when Bailey and Marco meet in the morgue, following the murder of a Navy SEAL who was off-duty. Dylan creates strong characters who are willing to dig for the answers and fight for justice. The relationship between Marco and Bailey is a clean romance but not the focal point of the story.
Dylan pens a tightly-written suspense filled with well-developed characters, a faith element that is clearly evident but not pushy, and plenty of plot twists. Dylan introduces an ensemble of characters that will most likely appear in future books. Look for the second book in this series coming in the fall of 2020.
Disclaimer: Book reviews are written for books I either purchased or received free of cost from the publishers, publicists, or authors. I voluntarily reviewed this book, and my review represents my honest opinion.
End Game by Rachel Dylan is an exciting contemporary Christian crime suspense that completely consumed me. It is the first book in the Capital Intrigue series.
Rachel Dylan has produced a well thought out, complex plotline that both intrigued me and kept me on my toes. The action came thick and fast as an air of suspense wafted throughout.
The characters were realistic and likable. The reader witnesses that teamwork gets results as members pull together and have each other’s backs. Inter agencies need to pool their resources to solve the case.
There is the theme of trust as the body count rises. Is there a serial killer out there? Or is it something more sinister entirely? What is certain is that God can be trusted. We need to call on Him at all times. “Lexi wouldn’t consider herself a particularly religious person… but… she felt like she needed God’s help to get through this.” God hears all our cries. His ability to act does not depend on our level of faith.
Characters are struggling with past events. It always helps to share our burdens with others and ultimately release them to God.
When life is hard, we may wonder if even God has deserted us. “He’d… had tough times… when he wondered if God still loved him.” God loves us unconditionally. There is nothing we can do to make Him love us any more or any less.
End Game was a positively thrilling read that I absolutely loved. I am on to book two now. Rachel Dylan is a marvellous author.
I received a free copy of the book from Baker Publishing. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.
End Game by Rachel Dylan is book one in the Capital Intrigue series. With both FBI and NCIS involved, this book is absolutely packed with action and calamity. I highly recommend this book for readers d suspense. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
Battle had something to hide – something so big he was willing to kill to protect his secret!
Don’t even think of going out alone until you finish this book, and then you might want to stay away from dark alleys! The author has given us a story that has so many twists and turns in it, you begin to wonder if the mystery and murder will ever stop. Bailey Ryan, an FBI agent, is on loan for the duration of this investigation. Marco Agostini is the head NCIS Special Agent and her partner in the quest to solve this multiple murder. Add another NCIS agent, an Army Ranger and a JAG lawyer to the team and the possibility of solving the case gets better…or does it??
With multiple murders, possible suicides and targeted attacks this suspense thriller will keep you guessing the whole time. Follow the team as they forage through the evidence until they can bait the trap to catch those who are guilty. This fabulous book, which you don’t want to miss, is just the beginning in the Capital Intrigue series and one I look forward to thoroughly enjoying!
The deeper they dig the more dangerous it gets…
There was absolutely nothing not to like about this book! And it’s, in my opinion, Rachel Dylan’s best yet! End Game had all of the ingredients necessary to make a great romantic suspense novel, including plenty of surprises and ‘switches on switches’ as they said in the old Audrey Hepburn movie. Once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down and I finished it the same day.
I was completely impressed with End Game and its well layered plot, good pacing, and the easy to like characters. Though, I’ll admit I almost didn’t like Marco in those first few pages as he came off a bit arrogant, but it didn’t take me long to change my mind. Bailey, however, seemed like a friend right away.
One of my favorite things about this book is that both heroine and hero are already Christians. They both sometimes struggle with faith in light of the terrible things they see in their line of work, which I think is pretty realistic, but there is no convenient last minute conversion just so that they can get married. It was a refreshing change from what is usually seen in Christian romantic suspense.
Needless to say, End Game is by far my favorite Rachel Dylan book, well, at least until the next Capital Intrigue book comes along. So now, I wait, and wait, and waaaiiit…
(I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
What a great book. I believe this is Rachel Dylan’s best yet. Amazing characters which included people from the FBI, NCIS and the CIA. I loved the two main characters, Bailey and Marco, and their struggles with their Faith and the budding romance between them. Also the plot of this book was fantastic. So many twists and turns and so many dangerous situations that kept me turning pages until I would get too sleepy to read. I recommend this book to everyone who loves Romantic Suspense. It is a winner.
End Game gives readers a fast-paced suspense-filled novel. FBI Agent Bailey Ryan is forced to team up with NCIS Special Agent Marco Agostini to solve some inter-related murders, one of them a Navy Seal. The more Bailey investigates, the more she finds herself with a target on her back.
If you are a fan of FBI, CIA, and all of the other alphabet organizations, this novel brings several government agencies together to solve the crimes. Watching Bailey and Marco interact from rival agencies adds another layer to the intriguing crimes. They find themselves with the perfect chemistry suited for a personal relationship and struggle to keep their professional demeanor. Several of the minor characters actually steal the spotlight, and I hope they show up in other installments of the series. Lexi Todd is a JAG lawyer who adds to the investigation. Izzy Cole, NCIS agent, overcomes quite a bit of her own personal obstacles to add to the investigation.
Definitely kick of the new year with this new release. If you love action and intrigue, look no further than End Game.
I received an ebook review copy of this book through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
What a great edge of your seat, nail biting read! I definitely had a hard time putting this down. Highly recommend!
I like suspense, and this was an intense look out! What next! and, wow, they need to run again kind of book!
YAY! A new series by Rachel Dylan!
I love everything that I read by her. She always writes stories that leave you in shock.
This is book one in the Capital Intrigue series. It grabs you in right away.
I read this book over a 2 day period – because I could not PUT IT DOWN.
My poor family was worried about me when I kept gasping with every twist and turn.
In this book – we see a series of murders happen. We see two departments who do not want to work together – try and find a middle common ground to solve the cases. All evidence points to a NAVY seal – but Bailey – does not think he was capable of doing it. Was he framed? Did he kill a team mate? You will have to read it to find out.
READER BEWARE — this book will take you on so many twists and turns – you will think you have it solved and boom – another fork in the road.
I received a copy of this book through the author — all thoughts are my own.
I can definitely say that Rachel is one of my new favorite authors! Each book takes you on an amazing ride and this book was no different. I love all of the different twists and turns. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! You should definitely give this book/author a try. You won’t be disappointed!
In Rachel Dylan’s upcoming release, End Games, the first book in the Capital Intrigue series she ramps up the suspense, intrigue, and action.
The character development and story pace is where Ms. Dylan shows talent and growth as an author. She has created character’s with depth and the pace is so good that it compels the reader to keep reading.
SEALS, NCIS, DC, and the FBI is the perfect setup for an action packed read!
Highly recommended!!!

End Game takes you on a high-speed chase through mystery, intrigue, and your favorite crime-solving agencies! It’s a must-read this winter! I love ‘NCIS’ – as in, I’m watching the series through for at least the sixth time since I discovered it a few years ago – so imagine my giddiness when I found out that Rachel Dylan was writing a book that featured an NCIS agent! Whoo-hoo!
Bailey Ryan isn’t working this case alone, but NCIS has a prominent role – and I love the inter-agency cooperation that is highlighted in End Game. The skill and pace is reminiscent of my favorite TV show, while the plot and storyline are all Dylan’s – and are just as fantastic.
Dylan keeps you on the edge of your seat. The action never slows, even as the characters struggle to solve the mystery and to find peace with their own personal insecurities. I loved the balance between personal journey and professional work that Dylan writes into the plot – and the intensity between Bailey and Marco plays right into that.
Not only was I caught up in the action, but I couldn’t predict ‘whodunit,’ either. Usually I have a hint, at least, but I was rather blindsided by this one – and I love when I can’t tell where the author’s going with the story! That totally adds to the excitement, and it’s definitely here in End Game.
End Game is the first book in the Capital Intrigue series, and I can’t wait to see where Dylan is going with the next books! My fingers are crossed that they’ll feature Bailey’s boss and her besties from college – but I’d love to see Izzy more, too. Isn’t it great when the characters feel like friends?
If stories about the crime-solving agents in the FBI and NCIS are your thing, snag a copy of End Game today! You won’t want to miss this one.
I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.
What an introduction to Rachel’s new series! This book had lots of surprises in store and the mystery was fantastic. I really liked the NCIS part of the story and Marco was a great NCIS agent. I actually really liked all the characters. Rachel built a great team of people for this story and I look forward to seeing more of all of them, Izzy was a particular favorite of mine and I loved the father/daughter connection she made with Jay and the surprises that resulted from that bond. I have read some of Rachel’s Love Inspired books before this but this was my first full length novel of hers. I will be looking up her previous series soon as I totally enjoyed her writing style. It was a quick easy read that held my attention extremely well. Need book two as soon as possible!!
I received this book from the publisher and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
I am already a huge Rachel Dylan fan, but her latest release, End Game, took her writing to the next level! FBI Agent Bailey Ryan and NCIS Special Agent Marco Agostini are a dynamic combination working what starts out to look like multiple serial killer murders. The mystery element was fabulously done with suspects galore. The political intrigue kept the suspense at an all-time high with suspicion on everyone. I loved the incorporation of the different government law enforcement agencies and the romances woven within each of the individual storylines. End Game had me guessing right up to the end. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
If you’re a fan of acronym-based legal, military or crime shows, turn off your television sets and read a copy of End Game by Rachel Dylan!
You guys – this book was so good! End Game was well-paced and had many layers to the story. It was thoroughly entertaining!
I enjoyed the characters so, so much! I seriously hope we see everyone as the series continues because I cannot decide who I would miss not seeing again!
This was my first time reading anything by Rachel Dylan and it did not disappoint! I’m so glad to have read this book. I can’t wait to see how the rest of this series unfolds!
End Game is available NOW – visit http://www.christianbook.com to purchase yourself a copy. You’ll be glad you did!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers. A positive review was not required. All opinions expressed are completely my own.
Wow! This fast-paced, intriguing thriller keeps the action going and the guesses coming. Who is really guilty of the murders, and what is the connection to the US military or government? FBI Special Agent Bailey Ryan and NCIS Special Agent Marco Agostini join others in trying to stop the crimes, uncover the connections, and solve the mystery. Will they survive the challenge? Not only did this novel hold my riveted attention, but I learned more about the agencies involved and how things work in the crazy DC world. The story seems quite realistic, but I hope things like this don’t actually happen (although it sounds like it could be front page news). Pick up this book for an exciting getaway where you can infiltrate the investigation but not get hurt. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
End Game is a very intriguing book. It has suspense/mystery/romance. There are so many layers to this story that it is fascinating to read.
I love a good suspense book. The characters are interesting and the plot while intricate, flows really well. This is the first book that I have read of Rachel Dylan and I don’t plan on it being the last. She really has a way with words and knows how to pull her reader in.
The characters in this book come from different departments of law-enforcement. It was interesting to see how they all operate separately, but when trying to solve a case, they will cooperate and share information. Each of the characters comes to the book with their own perspective and experience. I enjoyed how it takes a team to make a difference. In this story, they are making a difference for the families who have lost loved ones and to stop killing that may happen. As I stated above, the story is complex and good.
The book contains romance, but it is not the focus. The focus is on the investigation and bringing the bad guys to justice. I am excited that this is the first book in a series. I look forward to the next installment.
This book contains non-graphic violence and kissing.
