When people looked at Austin King, they thought he had everything. And he did…once. Shelby was his everything, his world. Sure they were young, but it didn’t matter. He knew in his gut, he knew it with everything they were meant to be. People told him all the time he was out of his mind, no one married their first girlfriend, but they were wrong– or so he thought. As soon as Austin got the chance … the chance of a lifetime, Shelby was gone. Sure he was living it up in the hottest band out there, but all the fame and money meant nothing without her. It felt more like a tragedy.
When a tornado rips their hometown apart, Austin runs home to help out. It doesn’t matter that he’s been avoiding the place like the plague. His family needs him. The moment he sees Shelby, all the reasons he’s stayed away suddenly don’t matter. One look in her haunted eyes, and he knows he’s made a big mistake. He thought that by staying gone, he was making her happy, but he had been wrong. He didn’t care how many times she told him they didn’t work, he knew they were perfect for each other. She might be stubborn, but he was determined to win her back. That’s why he wasn’t leaving until they got their encore.

My rating and review won’t be all that great for the fact that this story didn’t connect with me other then the weight issue and the self esteem problems Shelby and I have on a daily basis.
Starts out when Shelby and Austin is 16 (Austin ‘s POV). Then years later, Austin is living the rock star life (singing and the perfect women). Tornado levels their home town and he’s involved with Bren but it’s not love it’s basically all about sex with the two and to tee off his father. Shelby is also in a relationship with Colby and it’s not even what I would call a good pairing, they are not perfect for each other and he’s controlling jerk. I’d wish that the accident was more described with how it happened instead of just being mentioned as a after thought like how it happen or what caused it. I liked how the band accepted Shelby as part of the group and as Austin’s girl without being but heads like some band are. I’m a bit shocked when Shelby faced her fear when Bren showing up out of the blue, she went from hurt to anger then resolved until Austin explained his feelings then Shelby and Bren got to talking and became instant friends, with no animosity between them. Shelby became the bigger women and felt with her insecurities until her first trip to L.A. and meeting a mean girl in the guy’s apartment and her strength weakened when she read the tabloids that caused a rift between the lovers. I liked the book but I still felt like I’m missing more then I realized. If I would to read more it might be Dani’s and Nate story to find out who the father of her daughter is and her once a month trips with her daughter, but others I probably won’t I didn’t get the connection with the other band mates
This is the 1st book I’ve read written Emily Robertson; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

I enjoyed Austin and Shelby’s story. This is the first in the “Love and Harmony” series. It’s well written story about trust and letting go. I like Shelby because of insecurities she comes across as immature and fickle. I really like Austin. Overall a good story.
Well written, great characters and storyline. This is a second chance romance. They help each other to overcome their demons. I enjoyed this read. I recommend it to all. I received it from booksprout and voluntarily left my review.
The first book in the Love and Harmony series is about a second chance between singer Austin King and his first love Shelby. Shelby was there when he first tried out for the singing talent show Supernova at sixteen. Once he had joined a band she could see what was going to happen and let him go his own way. Now five years later they are in their hometown together after a tornado destroyed everything there. Both their families have suffered loses. I liked reading how these two work out their differences. This book was so down to earth. I love rock star books and second chances. It was the best of both worlds for me. Austin and Shelby have had a rough past. When tragedy strikes Austins life, Shelby’s life is set into turmoil too. Meeting your past again is always hard but seeing your past love is the hardest when you still love them. Austin is such a great boy. He loves his family to pieces. His mom, brother, sister and niece are so important to him. Its just one thing he has in common Shelby. She fits right into his family well, too well she always thought. The things that tore them apart, can they be fixed after all these years? I can see so many possible storylines coming from this book! I can’t wait to read and find out what the next installment has in store for us. Enjoy!
Five years ago Austin started a new life away from his hometown and the only woman he has ever loved and followed his dreams. Now when a disaster strikes his family he returns home and keeps running into Shelby the only woman who had the power to hurt him. Shelby’s life has been nothing of loss and pain, now her family is facing more. When she comes face to face with Austin she knows she needs to stay away but something about him keeps pulling her in. I loved Austin and Shelby’s story, so much loss has been suffered and I love a second chance at love story. In their story I think it is more of their love was put on hold. The other bandmates are great too; Nate, Wil and KT. This is an emotional journey of second chances and I can’t wait to read the next story in this series. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Encore by Emily Robertson a five-star read that deserves multiple encores. This is the first book in the Love and Harmony series and I can’t wait for the next book!! The characters are amazing the main pair Austin King from heart-throbbing band Innominate and small town local library girl Shelby Peterson couldn’t have been more opposite, he lives in the lime light and she broke his heart five years ago knowing that she didn’t want to be in the light. When tragedy strikes and a tornado breaks lives apart they are pulled back together, but they won be able to follow the yellow brick road, the lime light was too bright once upon a time, will it be any less bright now?
The thing with this book is that it’s not just the main pair, there are other characters like Anna Shelby’s sister and Dani Austin’s sister they have great qualities and give you some great background info and make you care about the characters when you see the story develop your heart will break alongside the people who are in the town of Horace. But will a storm blow over and leave behind a clean slate that will put you back together? Thank you Emily Robertson for such amazing writing, now hurry up and write the next story!!
I loved the kick off to the new series Love and Harmony! Encore had all the feels and just enough heat. Robertson does a great job developing the supporting characters, making the reader want to get to know them better in upcoming books. I loved how determined Austin was in getting what he wanted and needed. And Shelby is very sweet and true to herself. I may have been reading too much into it, but I’m hoping Dani & Nate end up getting together. Here’s one reader waiting with bated-breath for the next book. In the mean time enjoy a fun escape with Encore
I love the way this author writes a story and how she uses her characters so well to bring it to life. This story has so much depth and so many different things to keep you invested in not only the characters but all of the action as well. These two needed skills they had only used to help others and never used to voice for themselves. They learn and use those skills to make their second chance work. Their friends and family help out along the way and are a great addition to the story. Family, support, guidance, compromise, angst, and sorrow all pour out of the pages as this author does so well. My heart broke over and over in different ways for different reasons all that from this wonderful emotional read.
