What an I interesting world Fay has created in this new series. We meet Eve who lives with her grandpa after the death of her parents. Life has been hard enough due to her having visions and seeing the dead. Of course she has to hide this which is hard enough but then she starts getting new powers. Then she meets Killian her mate along with his brothers who have their own secrets. This book is one surprising twist after another that you will never see coming leading all the way to the surprise ending. Book two is gonna be awesome. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Enchantress of Death is a paranormal romance that will grip you and have you page-turning to the end. The author introduces the reader to Eve. Eve has lost her parents and is living with her grandfather. Eve has a unique ability…she can see glimpses of the future. Her life is about to become truly complicated when she crosses paths with sexy Killian and his two brothers. She may be a senior in high school, the new girl in town, and dealing with the deaths of her parents, but her life is about to take on a new level of chaos.
Enchantress of Death is a YA paranormal romance, but I have to say that it walks a fine line between YA/teen and older teen/adult. I like the dark twists that the author writes into this story. Three demon brothers, each with their own uniqueness about them and then the author gives us Eve with her uniqueness and engaging story. I love how the author gives us pieces of the puzzle to piece together concerning Eve and her past. The romance is fast-paced in this story. There are moments of where I feel that it moves too quickly, but then other times I think that it’s moving a decent pace.
There isn’t much that I don’t like about this book. I will admit that I didn’t like some of the repetitiveness of certain aspects of the story. Eve has blood red hair. I’m okay with being reminded of this a few times throughout the story, but there were some moments of where I felt that it was being repeated a few too many times. I will admit that I wanted more resistance from the grandfather towards Eve and Killian. He buckles too quickly. One minute he’s like – stay away from them and then he’s acting like he’s okay with what is going on.
All in all, I enjoyed this book and I am absolutely looking forward to the next book in this series. The author does leave the book on a bit of a cliffhanger, but it’s not an intense one so I don’t think that it should bother most readers. I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. If you like a demon, the threat of the apocalypse and characters with a hidden past then this is a book to pick up.
Enchantress is right! You will be enchanted by this first in a series story. Eve is an amazingly strong young woman who is dumbstruck by Killian. She is also able to make two new best friends in his brothers, Gabe and Luke. She is new in town and her Grandfather has some secrets he’s keeping. Steam 6/10 * Sweet 9/10 * Alt 1st POV * Cliffhanger
This was such a fun story to read. It is filled with humor, the supernatural, hot men, demons, a talking cat, action and a lot of things to keep track of. I loved reading about all the things what were going on and how each of the characters were so very unique. I did have an issue with how fast the story was, it all took place (with the exception of the first few chapters) in one day. That is A LOT of revelations, actions, lust and the like to pack into one day. Also I didn’t connect the characters the way I could have because it was so fast paced, there was no build up of background. I am diving into book two now because I did very much enjoy this story and I have to know what is going to happen next!
This is the first book in the Hell’s Apocalypse series and it was amazing! Grabs your attention right from the beginning and keeps you in suspense until the very last page. This book is well written, the characters are expertly developed, full of action, fast paced and sexy. Madeline has created a unique paranormal romance and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book of the series!
I believe this is Madeline Fay’s debut book and if that is the case she has really knocked it out of the park on the first swing!! I received an ARC of the book and I am very glad I did.
The book begins with a girl named Eve who has a rare power of gleaning the future in visions. She has a vision of her parents being murdered but is unfortunately too late to stop it from happening. Because of her parents death she has to move from Louisiana to Maine to live with her grandfather. While working in her grandfathers garage she meets a sexy stranger named Killian and finds herself trying really hard not to fall for him. The book follows Eve as she struggles with the secrets she knows Killian and his two brothers, her new best friends, are keeping from her. All while also trying to figure out who and what she is herself. Her powers keep growing and changing and someone is coming for her, will she be able to stop them? Will she be able to avenge her parents?
The character building is near perfect, you never wonder who someone is or what their reason for being in the story is. The setting is just as good, leaving you able to visualize each scene in your mind in every glorious detail.
