Another great book by Melinda Curtis! Emily Clark is The Rodeo Queen who wins Jonah Monroe’s Heart Emily loves her life in second chance but she waited for her cowboy to come along and rescue her! Although Jonah is a city slicker Emily will show him what he has been missing on a ranch! I highly recommend this book because it is a great read! The Mountain Monroe’s!
Emily and Jonah have something special, and everyone sees it but them! I loved coming back to Second Chance. I wasn’t sure how Miss Curtis was going to keep it going after the last one but she did it perfectly! Keeping the mystery in Mike Moody’s story.
An unlikely match! With book five in her Mountain Monroes series Melinda Curtis brings us Emily and Jonah’s story in ENCHANTED BY THE RODEO QUEEN. While the Mike Moody story line isn’t my favorite in this series, watching Jonah woo Emily was so much fun!
Emily Clark is an interesting character. She’s feisty, but she puts love for her family above all else. Now that things are settling down on the home front, she’s wondering where she’s going to fit in going forward. Her ultimate dream is to find a sexy cowboy to call her own and make a home filled with mini cowboys.
Jonah Monroe stole my heart quickly. He is about as far from a cowboy as you can imagine, but he’s got a laid back sense of humor that’s just delightful. He wants to prove that he’s more than others think he is … and with Emily’s help he just might be able to do it.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves a small town romance filled with unlikely matches and close knit family and friends. This entire series has been a joy to read.
I have become a huge fan of Melinda Curtis. Her writing has a warm and appealing quality. I know her stories will be full of love, while people of different views try to get along and sometimes find more than friendship.
This fifth book in the Mountain Monroes series is a perfect example. Various people have descended into the small town of Second Chance over the course of this series. They are quite different on the surface, but deep inside they do want the same things. In this book two very different people find common ground and while they get to know each other, to their surprise, they find more that draws them together than apart.
This book continues with a mystery that started in book one. I do recommend that you read this entire series, in order, to have the joy of discovering the full story as it is meant to be, however each book can be read independently.
I enjoyed this book so much and I hope there will be more books in this series!
Both main characters are Hard headed and stubborn. I feel like because of this it really made the book. The banter and the back and forth just added to it even more. I like the kids in the story I always feel when you can let kids shine in a book it really helps capture the attention of the reader. What I also like was Moody Mike’s story was finally told and I like how the Monroe’s are back. I so hope Bo’s story is coming soon I feel like there is so much more then the little glimpses we got this book of him. I like how the author kept a the story a good clean read. This book over all was a quick and fun read and if you have been following along with this family or you’re just getting started I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Enchanted by the Rodeo Queen is a fun addition to the Mountain Monroes series. This series is best enjoyed by reading the books in order, yet readers could probably still jump in and appreciate the story of these two opposites who try to ignore the attraction between them.
I enjoyed the witty banter between Jonah and Emily. Even though they came from very different backgrounds and had different interests, they seemed to really “get” each other, both having sarcastic senses of humor. Jonah had a lot of emotional baggage that he was weighed down with and had to dig himself out from, but it was enjoyable to watch their relationship develop.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
This is an awesome series. Book #5 in The Mountain Monroe Series. Wasn’t sure I would like this particular one due to Jonah being a Hollywood writer, but it was a good match. I like the down to earth heroine and her attitude towards life. Thanks for another great read Melinda Curtis, I look forward to the next book.
The legend of Merciless Mike Moody, the stagecoach robber who was killed in an avalanche near Second Chance, Idaho, captivated the people of Second Chance. Mike Moody’s ill-gotten secret hoard of gold has been found. But the whole story is still untold until the Hollywood Monroe, Jonah Monroe decides to write a movie script based on the legend. Jonah hires Emily Clark, former rodeo queen and presently working on her sister-in-law’s ranch, to guide him around the areas Merciless Mike roamed and robbed. Emily and Jonah are opposites, but they say opposites attract. The question here is, “Will they?”
Enchanted by the Rodeo Queen by Melinda Curtis is the fifth book in her Mountain Monroe series. I have really enjoyed reading this series and this book is a great addition to the series. Once again Ms. Curtis has a fun-to-read, well-developed storyline, likeable characters and great dialogue. Travel to Second Chance for an entertaining visit with the Mountain Monroes.
I really like Emily and Jonah, but they are both so single minded they can’t see what is in front of them. Emily just knows that she will be happy if she spends the rest of her life with a cowboy. Jonah is anything but a cowboy. He is such a city boy. Emily thinks Jonah’s cousin, Bo, is the perfect man for her. But, she can’t even speak when she is around him and he doesn’t even look at her. How can she get his attention? Jonah is so attracted to Emily, but if Bo wants her, he will help Emily. When Emily finally figures out that she loves Jonah, Bo finally notices her. Jonah is pretty clueless when it comes to anything with the heart. Will he finally get a clue?
Enchanted by the Rodeo Queen is the 5th in the Mountain Monroes series but can also be read as a stand alone. This is a story of opposites attract and matchmaker backfire. Emily, a former rodeo queen, just turned 30 and is looking for love, family and a ranch of her own. She is looking for a cowboy and thinks she found him in Bo; the only problem is she gets tongue tied whenever he looks at her. Jonah is trying to write a movie script about Merciless Mike Moody but just can’t get the feel of the story so he makes a deal with Emily. He will help her get Bo if she helps him follow Mike’s trail and history. Jonah is used to women throwing themselves at his cousin so he knows what will attract him. The interactions between Emily and Jonah are filled with snark, humor and an underlying attraction that completely derails both their mindsets. The story that follows shows that opinions, beliefs and needs change, and that opposites really do attract. This is a wonderfully written story filled with heart, humor, a few tears, a little anxiety and whole lot of love.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
Emily Clark is 30, she wants to find love. Love like her best friend has found not just once, but twice. She wants children and a ranch of her own. What she doesn’t want is a skinny red headed Hollywood scriptwriter who is constantly poking and prodding her. Jonah Monroe needs Emily’s sassy comebacks to help him write a script about the town’s antihero, Merciless Mike Moody but unfortunately she wants nothing to do with him, her total focus being on his cousin Bo. However, not being one to give up, Jonah finds a way to manipulate her, not realising that along the way he is falling for her. An interesting read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have loved every book in this series so far! I haven’t really know Jonah before this book. He wasn’t a “cousin” that was brought out much in the other books in this series so when I started the book, I didn’t know much about him. However, his character was fascinating because most of the Monroe cousins are social and kind of “well known” where Jonah, although being a Hollywood screenwriter, is quite introverted and quiet. He’s also non-committal. We find out the reasons for all of this in the book. He’s tasked with writing a screenplay about Merciless Mike Moody, the Second Chance, Idaho stagecoach robber legend. He spend almost the whole book trying to find the right angle for the movie and he can’t do it without Emily’s help. Emily is a cowgirl and she’s not “Hollywood” material at all. She’s decided to move on with her life because her biological clock is ticking! There is a lot of humor, sweetness, small-town life and love in this book. Characters from other books show up too and add that dash of flavor that make is so much fun, especially the kids! A very fun book with a lot of heart about being who we are deep inside and not apologizing for it.
Melinda Curtis brings us the fifth installment of her Mountain Monroes series with “Enchanted by the Rodeo Queen”.
The Monroe we get to learn more about this time is Jonah, part of the Hollywood Monroe’s. He’s in Second Chance to write a screenplay about Merciless Mike Moody. He believes he needs Emily Clark’s help in writing it.
Emily wants to fall in love and have a family like her best friend, Franny (“Lassoed by the Would-Be Rancher). She doesn’t think Jonah is The One. She wants it to be his cousin, Bo, who is more cowboy than Jonah will ever think of being.
However, as they end up work together, enchantment turns to love.
Ms. Curtis continues to bring her style of voice and humor to her writing. Can’t wait to read the next Monroe story.
“Enchanted by the Rodeo Queen” (The Mountain Monroes Book 5) by Melinda Curtis is a terrific read. I loved Emily and Jonah’s story. This is a wonderful addition to this series. This story is packed with romance, humor, family, small-town life, entertaining and interesting characters, and more. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Second Chance and with the Monroes. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, family, small-town life, and series.
