It was okay. not to excited about this version of the fairy tale.
Very well written! Couldn’t stop reading!
Enchant is a retelling of the fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast. One twist is that the prince’s curse actually came through a mirror enchanted by Belle (Zaleika). Belle was ordered to curse the mirror by Thorn, the evil king and brother to Vardan (the Beast). A charming tale, full of romance and hope and honor. Oh, and a few pirates!
Interesting story. Nice retold. Though you can see the inspiration it is a totally diferent story. Got to read to find out! 😉
Great easy read. Caution author does touch on subject of rape, but once you get past that part its a quick easy read.
I’ve read the reviews of this retelling of Beauty and the Beast story. Although I understand some may have some issues with certain actions by the king, but this is a wonderful ADULT tale set in enchanted times. When the story involves good vs evil, there will be ADULT evil involved. When King Thorn demands the enchantress, Zuleika’s mother, be brought before him with a needed curse or her children and family would pay the price, Zuleika, youngest daughter an enchantress herself, sets a curse upon a hand mirror as requested and appears before the king to take her dead mother’s place. Afterwards, the king proves to be dishonorable and not only holds Zuleika captive in his castle, but informs her he not only owns and commands all the land but everyone in it and proceeds to take her by force placing a curse upon himself. Zuleika wants to take the cursed mirror back from the king when she uses magic to leave, but decides she is more honor bound than the man who rules the land. There are consequences both good and bad, but you have to read and follow what happens. This is a wonderfully told story with twists and turns. Truly an adult Beauty & the Beast with twists.
Absolutely enchanting book! I love it and you will too!
I really enoyed this Beauty and the Beast retelling. It never gets old to me. I loved the fact that Belle A.K.A. Zuleika is an enchantress. The fact that she can do magic adds so much to her character.
I also liked that Zuleika is battling her own demons while trying to help Prince Vardan break the curse surrounding his land. It definitely follows the traditional storyline, but a twist as to how the curse affected the people loyal to the Prince. I loved that there’s pirates as well.
I think this book was well thought and such a joy to read. I sped through this book in no time. I found myself falling in love with both characters although I felt their story wasn’t quite over, despite the HEA ending. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it. If you Academia of the Beast by K.N. Lee then you’ll like this book as well.
I couldn’t get enough! Read it through in one day!
I could not get engaged with these characters or the story The characters seemed very shallow, and I didn’t enjoy the writing style at all.
To find one act could change the world of others…wow
I stopped reading it after the first chapter non-chalant rape scene.
This was the worst Beauty and the Beast retelling I’ve ever read. No plot. No character depth. No point to the story. Absolutely awful!
Such a refresh for fairytale stories.
This author retells old fairy tales in a refreshing new way.
very quick read, sweet, could have done some more character development, but an interesting twist…
Captivating retelling of beauty and the beast.
Clever!
This book was not what I expected. I wanted the heroine to see what she had done. It took her a long time to get it. The hero was a good person. An easy read.
I enjoyed this book which is a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast. It was a good story but a little disjointed in places.
