Empire is the coming-of-age story of Reza Gard, a young boy of the Human Confederation who is swept up in the century-long war with the alien Kreelan Empire. Nightmarish female warriors with blue skin, fangs, and razor sharp talons, the Kreelans have technology that is millennia beyond that of the Confederation, yet they seek out close combat with sword and claw, fighting and dying to honor their … honor their god-like Empress.
Captured and enslaved, Reza must live like his enemies in a grand experiment to see if humans have souls, and if one may be the key to unlocking an ages old curse upon the Kreelan race. Enduring the brutal conditions of Kreelan life, Reza and a young warrior named Esah-Zhurah find themselves bound together by fate and a prophecy foretold millennia before they were born.

This is a very good story. Very original type of science fiction.
One of the best I have read
Really good book. Might keep you up all night reading.
Premise was interesting but main character threw away feelings/friends/former life in a way that made you wonder who the alien was. Morphed into a written video game of fighting/survival skills and ended with a ridiculous emotional outcome. The character development is seriously lacking, along with transitions. Wasn’t the worst *free book I have …
This is the best science fiction I have read since Michael Crichton. Unlike most recent science fiction the plot is original. I have bought and read the sequels, and look forward the sequel where Riza returns.
Nice read. Look forward to reading sequels.
Good read, interesting story line. Good character development.
Scary ina good way Nice for a winters evening with the rain thundering against the windows
I enjoyed this book didn’t want to put it down until I read it all
Got a free book, then HAD to buy the rest of the series, 9 of them, because I was so hooked!!!
This is a strange story. One wonders how a civilization can survive when they take their best youth, train them to be savage fighters, then have a graduation ceremony in which they fight each other to the death with only one warrior remaining? Really? They kill off all the brightest and best except one? I read it to the end but have no …
For sci-fi fans. If you read the first in the series, you’ll most probably find yourself buying the rest of them!
Different enough setting and story to keep it interesting. Did hate it to end abruptly but then it is a part of a series!
Well written great read
good reading
scence fiction …almost believable in charactor presentation and world
Very good book on keeping your personal values in very challenging situations. Enjoyed the different settings the author used to show that all one really owns is reaction to the situations challenging the person.
One of the best series I have ever read and I have been reading sci-fi for over 50 years. I read the whole 9 book series in a bout 3 weeks because I could not put them down for long. I would read the books when commercials came on during football games which I had never done before.
bad language
Great read couldn’t put it down.
