I am not a good man. Wait, that’s a lie. I’m not even a man anymore. Signing away my eternity to the Devil kind of erased what makes me human. Corrupting and collecting souls is my job now. The perks are good—fun, sin, highs, sex, and climbing the demonic ranks of the lower kingdom. Now, I’m only one soul away from becoming a crowned prince of hell. My goal for the past four centuries. The one … centuries. The one soul I’m assigned to corrupt is Nephilim-born Maggie Westbrook—a shy, beautiful seventeen-year-old who has no idea who or what she is.
Easy as sin, right?
Wrong. She turns my world upside down and tears down walls I’ve been erecting for centuries, leaving me raw, exposed, and feeling—feeling things I didn’t even know I was capable of feeling. Ever again.
How can I get the only thing I’ve ever wanted without hurting her?
I am not a good man. It’s important that I repeat that. I am the demon Abraxas Shepherd. And this is my Testimony of the Damned.
Trigger Warning: Testimony of the Damned contains dark subject matter and may not be appropriate for all audiences. Reader discretion is advised. Contains cliffhanger.

Wow…..this takes paranormal romance to a whole new level. It has you gripped on just the prologue before you even start the very first chapter. It just sucks you in until you realise that you have devoured the entire book. An absolutely first rate book and I cannot wait to devour every single piece of work from this author.
None without possiblity of redemption.
When ones sins pile so high no light can shine. Would a flicker be enough to bring forgiveness and grace? Is there one out there capable of saving each of us?
The cover, which is stunning, is the only reason I one clicked this book. I didn’t even read the blurb lol. Admittedly I have an obsession for that couple on the cover. But on to the book.
Testimony of the Damn was this deliciously dark paranormal romance that sated my thirst for the kind of PNR I’ve been searching for. The story is told entirely by Brax, my new favorite demon, and it was oddly refreshing to read a single POV romance. And from the males POV to boot which was even more refreshing. From the start you see these small glimpses of good in him even if he doesn’t want to see it himself. The story is made even more delicious by his genuine pull (fascination? Obsession?) with the literally pure holy, Maggie Westbrook. She’s only supposed to be a job but without knowing it she becomes far more than the job she’s supposed to be to give Brax all he’s ever desired.
Because at the root of it all, it’s her he desires most of all. We spend most of the book watching him try, in every way he can, to resist the desire. Convinced he can keep her as the job she’s supposed to be. I loved being inside his head and seeing his thought process. And the author does an amazing job showing it. Brax comes across as your typical male alpha on the outside, and on the inside with his inner thought process but he’s also, and my favorite kind, an alpha with the ability to be gentle, romantic and sweet.
And Maggie, while she comes across as the doormat we all hate in romance novels, has this undercurrent of strength that’s enduring. She’s special but doesn’t know it. She has faith and strength in her beliefs. I found myself loving her when I almost thought I might hate her but loved her.
The chemistry is thick between Brax and Maggie and I was rooting hard for evil to collide with good. Cheering for Brax to be the man I knew he could be while battling his own inner demons to stay the man he believed himself to be.
The only complaint I had was in the writing it itself, while very good, the overuse of adverbs was obscene and somewhat distracting. But the story was enough to keep me reading. I couldn’t put it down. I will say this though, it is not a HEA or even a HFA since it ends in more of a cliffhanger fashion but it’s more than clear that there’s more to the story. So it’s far from over and I hope (I HOPE) we get the HEA these two will more than deserve. So go into it knowing that. The ending was still, oddly, satisfying because it worked with the build of the story. This is definitely my new fave recommendation for anyone looking for their next paranormal romance read.
Received ARC. Really enjoyed the concept and premise of the book. Shows you that love can change and move mountains.
Please, please read this gorgeously written story. I read this and was thoroughly captivated between the demon and the pure soul. I wish I’d gotten this book sooner but now I don’t have to wait so long to get the sequel!

Powerful and emotional. Brax has been a demon working for Satan for four hundred years. He has been sent to corrupt Maggie and bring her soul to Hell. Maggie is already living a hellish life. Her mom is a drunk and her stepfather beats both Maggie and her mom. Maggie has a goal. To get good grades, earn a scholarship, and get out of her situation. In spite of her circumstances Maggie is beautiful, loving, and kind. Through Maggie’s love Brax starts changing. He is getting a heart. But other supernatural beings want Maggie. Another demon wants to corrupt her and a Nephilim has been watching over her for quite a while. Who will claim Maggie’s soul? And can Maggie to save Brax? I loved Maggie and grew to love Brax. He was becoming caring and more human the more he was with Maggie. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review
So Testimony of the Damned was mostly enjoyable.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the writing at all and my overall investment in this particular story was more a case of it’s me, not you.
I am not sure why I struggled slightly with this I just did.
There is nothing I could actually pinpoint with this I just wasn’t quite feeling it at times.
This had everything here that usually does it for me but this time it just didn’t for some unknown reason.
I did prefer the second half of this much more than the first which I found a tad slow going.
I also thought that this was a trifle lengthy and long-winded: maybe that was why I struggled somewhat I just felt that this took the scenic route which was a bit of a trek.
I also don’t think I am invested enough to do this all over again but from Maggies POV this time add in the cliffhanger and I’m out.
Look plenty loved this book and it really was a great concept.
I also did enjoy this somewhat It was after all excellently written just not totally my bag.

Wow this was intense! KG Reuss sure knows how to write! My emotions were all over the place. I actually cried! This book is about a demon, Brax, who isn’t looking for redemption, but he sure gets it. There are some heavy and dark themes, he does horrible things, but they make his rise so much better. Maggie is a young girl who is abused by her stepfather and she has no idea she is part angel. These two fall in love, but they have so many things working against them. I kept thinking there is no way Brax can get out of his deal with the devil, there is no way for them to be together long term. I hope I’m wrong There is action, despair, heartache, and so much love! I did not see that twist with Eliza being who she was before Brax was a demon. I can’t wait to see what happens! The cliffhanger is a biggy so beware. It’s sooo good!
When I started reading this story, I couldnt put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I cannot wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.

In K. G. Reuss’s new series “Emissary of the Devil”, the main theme is a tale as old as times, the ongoing battle between Heaven and Hell. Brax is a high ranking demon, Magda is an earth angel. His task is to corrupt her soul and bring her to Hell, to start the Apocalypse. But even in his darkest soul there is light and Magda’s heavenly goodness infiltrates his soul. Will she save him? Will he be redeemed or will he end in the worst pits of Hell?
“Testimony of the damned” is written from Brax’s POV. With her unique writing style K.G. Reuss captures Brax’s internal struggle, Magda’s hardships as well as the relationship dynamics between not only Brax and Magda, but of the secondary characters of the story as well. Extremely well written, with attention to detail, especially as far as Brax’s emotions are concerned and well developed characters, the book was an emotional roller coaster. There are plenty of twists and turns that had me at the edge of my seat. The book ends in a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next book from Magda’s POV.
Warning: This is not a book for the faint at heart. It’s angsty, dark and deals with issues that a lot of readers might find disturbing. If you’re okay with that, go ahead and grab it.
I have to say I was surprised on how much I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t really care for Brax at the begging of the book because of what he represents but as the story moved along, you get to see beyond his facade. There is more depth to him and he slowly transforms. It’s also not only him but the other characters in the book. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
Testimony of the Damned by K.G. Reuss is a wonderful story to read. This is a wonderful start to a brand new series. I am so glad I read this story, cause if you like walking on the darkside you will love reading this story. I highly recommend this story.

Brax isn’t human and his job is corrupting and collecting souls. Four centuries of collecting and he’s one soul from becoming a crowned prince of hell. Maggie Westbrook is the one soul he needs but once he meets her something changes in him. This book captivated me and the good vs evil intrigued me. The writing is perfect, the characters are interesting and that cliffhanger left me anxious to read book two Testimony of the Blessed.
It is no surprise to me at how much I enjoyed reading this book as the author is a favorite of mine. Brax and Magda’s story is the beginning of a new exciting series. Of a demon tasked with corrupting an innocent soul and collecting it for his Devil of a master. But ends up falling in love her. The book ends in a little cliffhanger that left me feeling so blue. But not for long as the next book is waiting for me to read!
