It was a good sequel where we could see the characters develop, get challenged and persevere.
I liked the system of magic and the way we found more and more about it.

Emergence by Gaja J. Kos is an awesome story to read. This is book number two in this awesome series that I have loved reading very much and I can not wait to see what this author will write next. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy.

The story continues in fine form and the author has done a remarkable job with the second book in the series. The author manages to sweep you away from the mundane to the fantastical. The world building is exceptional and the characters are flawlessly crafted. I’m blown away with the originality of this story arc and I can highly recommend this book.

The beginning of this part of the story flings the reader directly unto the chaos that navigating this world of magic will entail. Obviously a section of a series, it’s almost necessary to have read the preceding part to not get lost in all the references, and to understand the worlds-saving mission (plural worlds) that is being undertaken. The end leads directly into the next section of the story/the next book.
That said;
The incredibly intricate construction of this world, of the magic rules that reign and must be understood to survive, of the voyage of our little group of adventurers – all create a fascinating read.
Personal dynamics between the varied characters are well portrayed and delightfully nuanced. The plot is complex and excellently developed. The gradual emotional and magical growth of the main character are so well described that the reader is swept into her world, to personally feel the turmoil, pain, desperation, hope, surprise, wonder.

This is the second book in the shadowfire series, and just like the first book it does take a while to get into it. After you are involved in the story, it just seems to flow and keep you interest. My favourite character is still how the heroine is written, strong and independent.
Look forward to more from this author.

Book two of this series truly does not disappoint. The wonderful characters become even more lifelike ( as far as fictional fantasy characters go that is) and I feel more satisfied with their growing development. The concept of this storyline is truly unique and refreshing for me. I love the genius and creativity of the “traveling” . This author showcases this talent. I enjoy when the storyline is the focal point without the need to overindulge on relationship woes. Over indulgence makes me skip pages now. I am thoroughly pleased with this tale and want more! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
This book picks up where the cliffhanger from book 1 left off. The second world was very interesting, the character development was satisfying, and the plot had a decent mix of revelations and action. Though I did have a few times where it felt like some of the detours from the main task were unnecessary. The end wasn’t quite as traumatic as the last one, but it wasn’t a comfortable place either. I’m eager to read the next book, which at the moment, I assume will be the last one. The bonus chapters at the end were fun as well.
