Traitors. Thieves. Liars. Lovers. We had been all of these.I have stolen hearts that weren’t mine to take. Betrayed my country for the sake of another night in my lovers’ bed. Lied to the people I said I loved. All for the tarnished crown of an empire than can no longer exist. The first time I saw Blair I forgot what I was meant to be.The last time I saw Ben, I remembered.I am the kingmaker. The … be.
The last time I saw Ben, I remembered.
I am the kingmaker.
The fixer.
The healer.
I am the one who can end this.

An amazing conclusion to this trilogy. As a whole it had ups and downs, suspense, stream, awesome characters and just a great plot that kept me hooked, and this book had all of that. Being the 3rd book in the trilogy, of you have made it this far then read this book. It wraps things up and ends the way we want it too, with a HEA for these awesome characters who we have came to love over these books. You won’t get spoilers in this review, but if you loved the other books, then finish this journey and read this book. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Oh my heart! I was on tenterhooks waiting to find out what was going to happen to and with Blair, Isaac, and Ben, and I was not disappointed! As far as conclusions go to trilogies, Emeralds was explosive and I loved every single page of it!
The intrigue, the drama, the love, the tension, the chemistry, the history, the future; all of woven together made for an epic story!
I knew the final part of this trilogy would be lovely, romantic, filled with hot sexy times, a little intrigue, and a couple of pretty big surprises.
Everything we thought we knew about Ben, Issac, Goldsmith Sr, Goldsmith Jr, and even Elise isn’t quite what we thought. And when information about Blair’s security and schedule are being leaked to the bad guys, everyone close to Blair is put under scrutiny. No one anticipates who the insider is. And they’re even more surprised at who the traitors alliance is with.
I will tell you, Blair, Issac, and Ben get their HEA. And it is well-deserved.
I loved this book, and this series. I just wish there was more! I want to know more about Blair, Ben, and Issac’s HEA!!!
Great end to an awesome trilogy.
First off, I really like the covers in this trilogy. Anyways, my favorite thing about these books were the connections between Blair, Ben, and Isaac. They all came from such different places and the two boys had a lot to hide, but they were all vulnerable. The connections are undeniable, the love scenes are hot, and the drama and action draw you in.
I like how it ended, I was totally shocked as to some of the big reveals in this story. I’d totally read more like this from this author, who was new to me before this. I loved it, and will probably read the whole series more than once.
Awesome conclusion to this trilogy. Full of intrigue and drama. A great wrap up!!
This is the final installment in the Tarnished crowns series and it was fantastic. We finally find out who the traitor among them is. Ben, Issac and Blair are such fantastic characters. This whole series was different from the stories I have read from this author before but I truly enjoyed them all.
Blair Stewart is struggling with the role her brother was born for, to lead Scotland when her father the King passes away. Now her best friend, lover and personal guard Benjamin Smith is missing and presumed dead. By her side stays Isaac Everleigh whose relation to the British crown makes Blair somewhat concerned about where his loyalties really lay.
As Blair’s life is still in danger Isaac must tread carefully as he knows not everything is as it seems and someone is betraying Blair.
Can Isaac keep Blair safe from those who wish to remove her from being the Queen of Scotland?
This book is so bittersweet as I was anxious to see how everything would conclude but at the same time I was sad that the series was coming to an end.
This book was from Isaac’s perspective and it was a good way to conclude with all of the issues between England and Scotland and stealing dealing with the aftermath of the proposal of a merger that Blair’s brother Lennox had been hoping for. In this book we also see Isaac come from behind the shadows of his brother, William, and father, also William, and take a role in the political scene in England.
I also liked this book from Isaac’s view because of what happened with Ben and what Isaac was aware of. Isaac was aware of who Ben’s sister was and the threat that she entailed and he was anxious to get to the bottom of everything knowing that Ben was innocent of the things that were being said about him with his apparent death.
When certain things are revealed to Blair I completely understood why she was so mad but I also do think it was the right thing to keep everything so quiet given what was at stake.
I had my suspicions about the spy right from the beginning and I was glad that I was right! I was surprised about why and how everything came to be though! I thought it was pretty ironic with everything else that had happened with a certain other character.
The end was great and I am hating to say goodbye to these characters!!
This whole series is stunning. In the final book we have more mystery and intrigue and political machinations, and the relationship between Blair, Isaac, and Ben is beautifully written. The traitor is revealed and wow, I didn’t see it coming. The ending is satisfying. Love this trilogy.
The much anticipated ending to Annie Dyer’s Tarnished Crowns trilogy was every bit as tension-filled as I expected it to be. Emeralds wraps up the story of Blair, Ben, and Isaac, a trio of main characters that were entangled, not just with each other, but with the goings-on of their countries. I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone who hasn’t read it yet, so I’m stopping myself from going into too much detail. All I can really say is that you should expect the unexpected. Revelations are made, as well as life-changing decisions, and I enjoyed every single bit of it. It should go without saying that the books in the series need to be read in order: Chandelier, Grenade, and Emeralds. The series follows the same set of characters throughout and there is a continuing story arc. Five stars.
What a crazy ride ! I loved this series from beginning to end. These were my first reads from this author and I will definitely read her again. We have some big shocks and twists revealed. The chemistry between the main three characters is undeniable even with the secrets. We learn more about each character through each story. Such a great read !
This is the conclusion of the Tarnished Crown trilogy. Mostly told in Issac’s point of view, we get to learn more of him.
Emeralds is a good ending. It’s quite perfect for Blair, Ben and Issac’s unique love story, even if I felt it was a HFN. My questions were answered and the twists had me turning the page to see what would happen next. I enjoyed the trilogy and liked Ben, Blair, and Issac very much. Annie Dyer wrote a MMF romance that felt original to me.
More secrets are unearthed in this conclusion. We get mainly Isaac’s POV as we learn how his colourful past intersects with some previously revealed scenes.
Isaac is the most fascinating character for me, he’s as equally important as Blair and Ben. He insulates his feelings however vulnerability cannot escape his life. He doesn’t let his upbringing shape his destiny. As much as he’s in the public eye, his importance is severely underestimated by many.
This sweeping trilogy blends intrigue, charm, old-school politics, and sexiness.
When book one ended I wondered where this was going to go. When book two ended I was a bit more concerned and when I started book three I was very concerned.
I shouldn’t have been. Book three was amazing.
Everything wrapped up and explained.
This book had all sorts of twists and turns yet it kept us loving our characters. Ben, Issac and Blair stayed true to themselves yet grew with one another to be stronger. I don’t think Blair could have done what she did without these two men by her side.
It is a great trilogy and worth the read! Annie branched out from what she has previously written and to me it appears she can write just about anything and it will be worth the time to read!
Wow! I am at a loss of words after finishing this trilogy. It has taken me a little bit to come up with a review that does it justice but all I can say is it is fantastic and everyone needs to read it.
Ive said it before and ill say it again…. Annie can honestly do no wrong when it comes to writing a goddamn good book, i trust Annie with my book life. This trilogy was just …. amazing and so so so goddang well done
I love Blair, Isaac, and Ben’s relationship, I love that its not convential and not for everyone, but its them and it works for them
I dont want to say much and risk giving away or spoiling anything but please, oh please read this book, well this whole series really, you honestly will not regret it.
….. i wouldnt be mad if there was more either (wink wink)
Emeralds is hands down the best book I’ve read so far this year!
Going into Emeralds I still wasn’t sure whether Blair could trust Ben, or Isaac, or if both were planning on selling her out. Things didn’t look well for Ben at the end of Grenades, it was difficult to determine whether he would defend Blair, or back the sister who’d been a thorn in his side for what seemed like forever. Isaac’s furtive, secretive behaviour dealing with the PM of England, and Lenox’s fiancee made it very hard to become attached to him, but what endeared both men to me was their obvious, undying love for Blair and each other.
Annie wrapped the entire trilogy up in a nice, neat, tidy bow, even if she did wait until the very end to answer all the questions. I loved the care she took to ramp up the suspicion, intrigue, and holy wow (!) the sexual tension to the very last moments! By the end of the book I was deeply in love with Blair, Isaac, and Ben, and I never suspected the actual culprits. To say I was surprised with the last few twists and turns, and the reveal of all the characters involved in trying to force Blair’s hand is an understatement.
An amazing end to a phenomenal trilogy that was so rich in dialogue, such care taken to show the beauty of their home and the surrounding countryside, and the life they spent together, I am still in awe. If history, suspense, political intrigue, and an undeniably beautiful love story is your jam then you need to read the Tarnished Crowns trilogy. I know it’s a story I will love and enjoy for years to come.
his book is the final one in the trilogy. It is intense, full of action and even angst to some extent. At some point I stopped reading and took a break by listening to another book because I was on edge. I loved these characters, Ben, Blair and Isaac are so wonderful together that it made me feel Blair’s pain at some point. I definitely loved this book and even wish it wasn’t just a trilogy, but a longer series, as I want to know more about this throuple.
Absolutely fantastic conclusion to this trilogy.
Blair, Ben and Issac are incredibly likeable characters , Ben in particular with the choices he has to make him incredibly loveable. I enjoyed that this MMF book had a great story line, with characters that you loved , an HEA that you were desperate for and although at times hot and steamy , not just full of sex like some MMF books. The intrigue, lies and plot keep you turning the pages . Loved Loved
HOT DAMN!!
The conclusion to this trilogy was just as I expected. It had everything, mystery, intrigue and some damn fine sexy scenes between the main three characters.
There are so many twists and turns in this series, everyone has secrets and more and more are exposed as the story continues. Culminating in a very interesting and disturbing reveal leading to the ultimate betrayal.
No one is spared in this gritty and gripping final book, I love how Annie is able to keep her readers guessing right until the very end.
I can’t recommend this series highly enough, this will stay with me for a long long time!
