Harper B. Cole’s Embracing His Omega is the first book in The Cafe Om Love series. This is a re-release that offers new content and reediting. It’s a sweet and sexy non-white mpreg that will leave you satisfied and excited for the next book in the series.
Jace is not your typical Omega…in fact, up until he is tested as an omega everyone was sure he was an Alpha. And as a non traditional omega, he deserves the non traditional Alpha like Naheed. Naheed is caring and works to help omegas in need. And together they seem to find a complimentary partner in each other. I absolutely loved them together.
The story offered entertainment and had me feeling good. Some humor, some sweet moments, a dash of drama and lots of steam and lots to love about this story. I can not wait for book two.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
I’ve read this author before. This is a book set in the mpreg world. Main characters are Naheed and Jace. Not your usual alpha and omega. I’ll read more from this series and author.
3.5 rounded up
This is a sweet little fluff romance. The romance comes almost too easy, but in the world of fluff, I suppose that is to be expected.
Jace has grown up believing that he is an Alpha. His parents, teachers, and everyone else have been preparing him for the future of an Alpha. So, when he learns that he is in fact an Omega, he is understandably upset. However, he eventually makes peace with it, but he knows he will never find an Alpha who is willing to accept him for who he truly is inside.
Naheed is an Alpha who was raised by two Omegas. When he comes of age, he searches for his biological father to learn about being a real Alpha. Unfortunately, the man is an alphahole, and for a while, Naheed takes his teachings to heart. However, he learned from his mistakes, and now plays a huge role in running a shelter for abused and neglected omegas.
I mentioned that I felt that the romance came a bit too easily, but it was still endearing. I suppose if you are a true believer in the myth that all fated mates are made perfectly for one another, this is the perfect romance. And, with as short as the book is, it made everything else going on flow a lot more smoothly. I guess I’m just more of a “progressive thinker,” in that I believe fated mates are meant for each other, but that doesn’t mean they change their personalities overnight to be a perfect couple immediately.
Overall, the story was short and sweet. It does have some serious moments, but they are kind of glossed over. But, if you are looking for a light, quick HEA, this book fits the bill.
* I received an ARC of this book. *
A very satisfying introduction to Cafe Om. Poor Jace has a body that says he’s an alpha but biology says he’s an omega. Jace has resigned himself to being single, no alpha wants a guy like him. Naheed’s life is about Omega house and helping serve omegas in need. He knows that Jace is his mate but leaves every choice about their relationship to Jace. They are equal partners in all things. I liked that Jace was finally willing to embrace parts of his omega nature without giving up who he was. Naheed’s love for Jace and little Trevor was beautiful. Seeing them come together as a family left me with a smile.
This author is new to me and I was eager to read their take on omergaverse. The first thing I noticed is how well the author was able to give us such a compelling story while teaching us about this complex and intriguing world she created. Naheed and Jace aren’t you’re typical alpha and omega. Plus there are a lot of things about their world that they want to change. I can’t wait to see where the author takes this. Plus, I’d love to know what happened to Miles. That’s why I gave this only four stars. Seemed to me that if we see him at such a devastating time we should know what he’s up to now or at least know why Jace doesn’t mention him again.
