Discover the magic of New York Times bestseller Melissa Foster’s writing, and see why millions of readers have fallen in love with the fiercely loyal and sassily sexy characters in the Love in Bloom big-family romance families.Welcome to Oak Falls, Virginia, home to horse farms, midnight rodeos, bookstores, coffee shops, and quaint restaurants where you’re greeted like family and treated like … family and treated like treasured guests. Buckle up for a wild ride. Like any Southern girls worth their salt, the sweet-talking, sharp-tongued Montgomery sisters can take men to their knees with one seductive glance or a single sugarcoated sentence.
A second chance at their first love…
Leaving New York City and returning to her hometown to teach a screenplay writing class seems like just the break Grace Montgomery needs. Until her sisters wake her at four thirty in the morning to watch the hottest guys in town train wild horses and she realizes that escaping her sisters’ drama-filled lives was a lot easier from hundreds of miles away. To make matters worse, she spots the one man she never wanted to see again—ruggedly handsome Reed Cross.
Reed was one of Michigan’s leading historical preservation experts, but on the heels of catching his girlfriend in bed with his business partner, his uncle suffers a heart attack. Reed cuts all ties and returns home to Oak Falls to run his uncle’s business. A chance encounter with Grace, his first love, brings back memories he’s spent years trying to escape.
Grace is bound and determined not to fall under Reed’s spell again—and Reed wants more than another taste of the woman he’s never forgotten. When a midnight party brings them together, passion ignites and old wounds are opened. Grace sets down the ground rules for the next three weeks. No touching, no kissing, and if she has it her way, no breathing, because every breath he takes steals her ability to think. But Reed has other ideas…

“I will never ask you to give up anything, and I will support your every dream. You are the light of my life, baby, my best friend, my lover…”
Embracing Her Heart is the first book in The Bradens & Montgomerys [Pleasant Hill-Oak Falls] subseries from Melissa Foster. This book will ’embrace your heart’ and fill it with warmth.
Grace and Reed were secret lovers in high school. Both attended rival schools–Grace was cheerleader and Reed was quarterback. Their love wouldn’t have been accepted. When graduation came around, Grace left to pursue her dreams in NYC. Both never forgot how they felt when they were together and how deep their love ran. Now they are back in town, and Reed’s not going to let her get away this time.
Grace and Reed had a sweet love. They both respected the hell out of one another and supported each other’s dreams. I appreciated that Reed wasn’t bitter that Grace’s dreams interfered with their relationship. Now that they are older and have had more life experiences, both come to the relationship stronger, wiser, and ready to wait if need be.
Embracing Her Heart has strong family elements. The bonds of sisterhood were awesome! The ties of parents and children were also explored. I learned that there is always another side to the story–and sometimes you can’t move forward properly until you are willing to listen and try to understand the other side.
I’m looking forward to continuing with this series!
Absolutely entertaining and such a beautiful storyline, the characters are so realistic and strong, they depth to the entire story. Loved the romantic steamy scenes and the little gestures that prove the strength of their love and how together they overcome the hurdles in their life. Loved it.
loved the hole story
Embracing Her Heart is a heartfelt, emotional romance that delivers!
I liked the story but some of the language was not very good.
I’m a Melissa foster fan but this one didn’t do it for me. Sometimes I like a second chance romance, this was not one of those times.
Loved this book along with all your books-Snow Sisters and Bradens series. So happy to see you have another series out there. Guess I’ll have to get Anything for Love now. Keep on writing your awesome books!
Good story but predictable
Very good story, lots of sex.
This is the first book in the The Bradens & Montgomerys: Pleasant Hill – Oak Falls Series. Grace and Reed’s second chance to love is beautifully written, sweet, sexy, and romantic. Reed is handsome! Grace is smart and independent. They share a strong chemistry. I like the family bonds, and the friendship in this story. Sebastian York and Andi Arndt did a wonderful job with the narration, as always. I enjoyed it.
Second Chances
When Grace came home from NYC to do a workshop at her sister’s bookstore she didn’t expect the one man in her past to be working on her parents porch. Reed came home to help his uncle but also to start over after finding his business partner and girlfriend sleeping together. Now they have a chance and no hiding this time.
Foster always weaves the story that grabs you from the beginning. Her story is carry you through in such a way that you feel like you’re a part of the character’s lives. Is there a more in the series, you want to read them to see how your favorite characters are doing.
Sometimes tragedy and distance cannot keep love from spanning the years and pulling people together. This was a great story of loss and love, and the wonder of the resiliency of the heart. You will want to read this one again!
Love this author!
You’ll fall in love with the hero, he says and does all the right stuff
This actually has a very interesting storyline to it. There are things to love and care about in Gracie – the lead female… and other things that really are not likeable. There were solutions that seemed obvious to me, but I am not 100% sure she got them. Reed is awesome … she really does not deserve him. He has a side story that makes him even more interesting.
There is a lot of multipage sex scenes. They are well written if you like that kind of thing. They are not needed in such detail for the story, so just skim in you don’t need blow by blow.
Coming home means has different meanings for everyone. Some see it as a short visit and others reflect on the past. Being open can change your life. Wondering why you settled for what you thought you wanted. Loved Reed and Gracie.
I like it it was a good book.
It was enjoyable to read.
The beginning of what promises to be a wonderful series!
Looking forward to the rest.
