The third book in the Grizzly Rim series a well written M/M story. This is otter shifter Nate Landry/Charlie Beauchamp and bear shifter McKinley Greer’s story. A story that is well worth reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This beautiful, heartwarming slow-burn MM shifter romance with a “friends to lovers” undertone was an absolute pleasure to read. This is the 3rd book in the “Grizzly Rim Series” & there are some character crossovers from the previous books but it can be read as a standalone. The characters are well-developed, endearing & perfectly flawed, they have good chemistry between them. The plot is well-written with some intrigue & realistic emotional struggles.
There is: a river guide & otter shifter (Nate Landry aka Charlie Beauchamp) with some devastating memories & secrets is attracted to a male grizzly bear shifter & brewer (McKinley Greer aka Mac) with secrets & problems of his own then the real Nathan Landry arrives in town with some news, drama, twists & turns, intrigue, secrets, friendship, various kinds of shifters, attractions, memories, discovery, panic, emotional turmoil, complications, flood warnings, compromises, verbal banter, romantic intentions, disagreements, confusion, friendly advice, surprises, love, happiness, some steam & a wonderful epilogue.
I absolutely love this series. The couples in these books each have emotionally or physically crippling issues they have to work their way through while trying to establish lasting relationships. I know when I pick up one of these books I will laugh at, cry about and feel inspired by these chatacters.
This is Nate/Charlie and Mac’s story. Mac is the intensely private pub owner, brewer and recovering alcoholic. Charlie is, on the surface, the care free river guide, who was so devastated by his brother’s death he ran to Alaska to escape. After a flood takes out Charlie’s cabin Mac invites him to stay at his home. In such close proximity their attraction for each other explodes. They have a lot of secrets to share and issues to work through before they get their HEA.

Before I say a word about this book, I have to say that I can’t wait for the next one. I love this series. So good. This is Mac and “Nate’s” story. Friends for 5 years, everybody sees the attraction, but Mac and Nate refuse to face it. They both have secrets. Secrets that they think will chase the other off. Their love is a sweet, sweet thing to discover. Sexy and also heartwarming.

I found Mia West through her Rogue Rescue series and Charlie is one of the shifters mentioned. He had already moved to Alaska during Rogue Rescue so I figured he would link the two worlds in some way so starting a new series was a no-brainer. I read the first two novellas, but I didn’t read this last one the first time around. This is my first time and I have to say I had to take a moment.
Oh wow. Nate and Charlie’s reunion hit me hard. Oh poor Charlie. My heart broke for him. I sniffled and snuffled because I knew this day was coming and it would happen at the least convenient time, too. Of course! But really, it was good to get closure for all things. I am so happy the series ended the way it did. There is so much love and friendship and family.

Hurt so bad you don’t know if you can breath right or not. Then you walk into a bar look around and you can finely breath again. Charlie found that to be true. Very good story. Charlie and Mac had a lot to work through but in the end they had each other to help with the load. They found their balance with one other. Well written and the plot is well thought out also. I enjoyed the story. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
The story revolves around Mac and Charlie and the trials they went through to form a loving and secure bond. They each had their own secrets and misunderstandings happened until they each came clean on what they had been hiding. The story is well written and entertaining. It is worth reading.
I was at first weary of this series as it isnt my normal genre, but as I continued to read and get to know the men of Grizzly Rim, I fell in love with the town and characters. The storyline is so engrossing and deep that the MM relationships just click. For Mac and Charlie other hold secrets that they feel will push people away or bring pity, but the stronger their relationship gets their secrets need to be brought to light or pull them apart. I like the meaning within the story, and this series. I would definitely read more by Mia.

This book was not what I normally read but I was intrigued by it. Nate who turned out to be Charlie was for 5 years friends with Mac and his bar’s clients. He was inlove with Mac and vise versa. Everything changed when the real Nate turned up, but not for the bad. Charlie’s place was flooded so Mac helped him. And with them in one ‘house’ they started to see each other more. In the end they both had secrets and they worked through it. This book really kept me reading till the end.
