Love love love!!
This is one of my all time favorite books! I always end up re reading ALL of Suzanne Wrights books.
I love both Harper and Knoxs personalities, she’s a stubborn fearless badass. While he’s a dark intense GQ type of man. Dominating and dark, my favorite combo. Their chemistry is on fire from the very start.
No no no! I refuse to accept the end of Knox and Harper’s story. I love these two too much to let them go. I could read about this amazing couple forever.
Embers is the fourth book in the Dark in You series and the last told from Harper and Knox’s perspective. In this one, the two are parents to baby Asher and still trying to figure out who is against them. Now that they have their son to protect, their vigilance and fierce protectiveness is more intense than ever.
I really like the way Suzanne Wright explored demons in this series. The idea of different species amongst demonkind is very original to me. Also, the concept of soul duality with demons was something I liked and the way the demons protected their other selves was pretty cool. As I did with the previous books, I enjoyed the writing style and perspective.
Harper and Knox’s son Asher was so cute. His antics were hilarious and the power he emanated was fascinating. Many were trying to protect him, but this baby can protect himself! I would love to read about Asher in the future.
Kick-A** Strong-Willed Female Characters who are not your average damsels in distress just waiting around to be saved and their Alpha Hot Bad-A** Male Counterparts – cunning, loyal, and fierce heroes who protect what’s theirs and will definitely be getting their hands bloody while doing it.
The plots were excitingly well-developed, the plot twists and villain reveals were well-executed and just plain cool.
All in All – This was definitely a series I would recommend if you are into preternatural fantasy adult romance.
I’m at 4 and counting (because it’s not over yet.)

I really enjoyed this book. This entire series, so far, has been wonderful. I love Asher and his “Ma!” and “Da!” and seeing his bond with Knox and Harper. I just loved it all! Great wrap up and I can’t wait to read about the other characters.
Book four in the series is Knox and Harper again.
For the moment there settled and enjoying family life along with there young son Asher.
The fourth Horseman has up to now kept a very low profile, but that changes when their son is again targeted and whoever this unknown enemy is they’ve resurfaced and are yet again targeting Knox and his family.
They’re also in control of a convenient puppet who is currently carrying out their dirty work.
Also, this time around it’s Knox having to deal with Harper’s past for a change something he is most definitely struggling with karma really does suck.
We also get to see a side to Harper here that we haven’t experienced yet.
With her family threatened she totally goes postal and brings the goods to the table in a way that was as vicious as it was protective.
Harper is one scary mother when her loved ones are threatened.
So here we finally get some much-needed closure in regards to the final Horseman and also concerning little Asher.
This also brought the heat and the chemistry between Knox and Harper yet again explodes off the page with its raw intensity.
This was such a fitting finale and while I am sad to be finally leaving these two behind I’m also equally excited to finally get to experience Tanner and Devon’s story next.

Perfect
Another great read with Knox and Harper! With Asher in the story now, it was even better. I loved that little boy! I think I enjoyed reading the parts when he was in more than anything. I kept second guessing who the 4th Horseman was, but then got more interested in Asher’s antics and to finally find out what type of demon he was! I am glad this is the final book starring these 2 characters, really love them but I think I’m ready for the secondary characters, Those are going to be fun! It would be fun to read about another child from them though, maybe a little girl??
I also really enjoyed seeing how fierce Harper can be when her child is put in danger. Seeing Harper in her “berserker mode” was chilling but satisfying! And of course Knox, can’t really say anything more about Knox except yum 🙂
Bittersweet…
Embers was bittersweet in that this is the end of Knox and Harper’s story. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know these characters and look forward to seeing what is in store for some of the secondary characters.
Title: Embers (Dark in you #4)
Author: Suzanne Wright
Publisher: Piatkus
Amount of pages: 359
Genre: Adult, Fantasy, Romance
Date Read: 21-07-2018 – 22-07-2018
Favorite Quote: “I’ve never had someone as deeply enmeshed in my life as you are, Harper. Never wanted anyone to be. I don’t have any real experience with emotional intimacy, which means I’m often flying blind here. Not being good at something pisses me off. But you … you’re something I need. I absolutely refuse to live a life that doesn’t have you in it.”
Review:
I was really excited about this book and it sure didn’t dissapoint! I didn’t see that plot twist coming. And I definitly didn’t see the revalation about Khloe coming. I would love to see how that’s going to work out.
What is this book about:
Things seem to be going well after the hardship Harper and Knox went through in the previous book, but with Asher savely in their hands they couldn’t be happier. Fate doesn’t seem to be willing to give them some slack thought. The remaining horseman isn’t done yet. And their target remains the fall of the primes and the death of Knox. Not only are they willing to use Harper for their plans to weaking Knox, no they have moved to their son Asher. Asher isn’t weak by any means, we saw that in the previous books and he continues to grow stronger. He isn’t a easy one to take but that doens’t stop the horseman from taking him.
Will the remaining horseman finally succeed or will he or she meet the same end the other had?
What did I like about this book:
I loved seeing baby Asher. He seems like such a cute kid. I hope to see more of him in the next few books through the eyes of the others.
As always it’s fun to see the banter and snark between all the characters. I really hope the authors will write more books in the series. I still have hopes for Devon and Tanner and Khloe and Keenan. With some news about Khloe I am even more curious as how and if something more will grow between her and Keenan.

4 1/2 I loved it Stars
I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it again…if Suzanne Wright writes it, I will drop everything and read it. Not even out of town family that I haven’t seen in years could stop me from reading. I even stayed in while everyone else went sailing and let me tell you, it was freakin’ worth it!
When someone asks me who my favorite paranormal alpha book boyfriend is, Knox immediately comes to mind. He is sexy, dominant, and he loves his Harper so much, he’d literally burn the world down if something happened to her. It takes a special couple to make me want to read more than one book about them, but I just can’t get enough of these two. One of the main reasons is Knox gets better with each and every book, which is saying a lot since he blew my socks off in the first one. With Embers, it was all about the grovel. Hoo boy, I didn’t know he had it in him because he’s the epitome of an alphahole but first he was a colossal ass and then he made it right in more ways than one-wink wink nudge nudge.
I can’t just give all the love to Knox because I freaking adore Harper too. The entire demon world is terrified of her husband, except for her. She loves him but she knows if she gives him an inch he’ll take a mile. To combat this, she goes toe to toe with him all the time which makes for a fun read. Here, she proved without a doubt that she is just as scary as her mate, maybe even more so.
Even now that they are married with a child, the chemistry between Knox and Harper is so palpable, it could be a character on its own. Holy hotness, Ms. Wright can write a sex scene. I think I have more of them highlighted than I do anything else. I thought about adding some quotes, but then decided you needed to experience these things first hand. Prepare to be blown away and might I suggest you also have your significant other close at hand, or at the very least…well, you get the idea.
As much as I adore Knox and Harper, the true star of this show was baby Asher. The little guy was absolutely adorable and mischievous with a huge side of cuteness. I just wanted to eat him up with a spoon.
True to Suzanne Wright’s other books, this was not all about the hot stuff, this was a who-done-it that kept me on my toes. I had theories running the entire time but was never one hundred percent sure until the final reveal. I love it when that happens! As if this wasn’t enough, my need for grit was constantly fed as there was plenty of ass kicking going on. Saying Embers took me to my paranormal happy place doesn’t do it justice, I was in Paranormal Nirvana.
Rating: 5 Everything I Wanted Stars
PS: I can’t tell you how happy I am that this is not the end of the series. Devon and Tanner are up next and I can’t wait!)
This series is so damn fascinating! Each book continues getting more and more spell binding and incredible. The books could each be read as a standalone, but I would recommend that you read them all because you lose out on the back story and can get lost. Plus, why the hell would you not want to read such a kickass series?!
In Embers we’re following Knox and Harper on the action packed journey to figuring out who the final horseman is. And boy what an adventurous, intense, & suspenseful journey it turns out to be. With the smoldering passionate connection between Knox and Harper thrown in the middle to heat things up even more of course.
The level of imagination Mrs. Wright creates in her books is simply, marvelous. You lose yourself in the pages of her vivid descriptions and details. I’ll be impatiently waiting for another book release in this series and can’t wait to find out which one of the side characters is get theirs first.
I thought this was an excellent finale to a great series!
5 RIP-ROARING BLOW BUBBLES DON’T MESS WITH ASHER STARS!!!! I freaking loved this story, that baby Asher? What an awesome, spectacular baby! In this story we finally find out who is the 4th horseman and I have to say I wasn’t surprised as to who it was (I kind of figured it out, rather early on) but Ms. Wright does happen to throw a couple of curveballs in there, that I did not see coming. Wow! Just wow. I love Knox and Harper so much.Their love is real, genuine and scorching hot. The amount of love Harper has for her son, holds no bars and she expresses that love to her enemies painfully, Lol. This was an amazing read and I enjoyed every delectable morsel. I can’t wait for the next book in the series and I pray we get glimpse of the Thornes…I know that it will move on with the next characters but I mean, I simply cannot exist without knowing how Knox, Harper and Ash are doing. Lol. Well done Ms. Wright!
5 stars*****
Let me first start by saying that I love this series! I love the world that Suzanne Wright’s has created, filled with dangerous, arrogant demons, witches and humans. I’m fascinated with the different powers the demons possess and the different characters that we meet. I’m so happy that the writer decided to create this paranormal world.
If you want to read this series, you really have to start with the first book. There we meet Knox and Harper, we see how they meet and in the following books we can see how their relationship blossom and how danger is coming closer and closer.
This book is a bit different than the other books, because now Harper and Know have a son. It was great seeing how Harper and Knox were reacting to this new situation and to their beautiful, cute (and dangerous) baby boy. Knox may be a father now but that doesn’t mean that he and his demon are getting soft on the contrary! He and his demon are more protective and dangerous than ever!
The search for the fourth and last horseman is on but the horseman has set something free that is feared by all demons and that isn’t easy to kill. So Harper and her son are in more danger than ever. Can Knox find the last horseman on time and can he keep Harper and their son safe?
It was wonderful to see how these two powerful demons acted when they are parents. I really loved their son Asher and just like his parents I was guessing what he could be. Again I was surprised with the outcome of the story, that’s one of the things that I love about Suzanne Wright’s stories. She still manages to surprise me. I adore that.
I have been enjoying the adventures of this couple very much but I must also confess that I’m more than ready to read about the other couples! I would really love to read the love stories of them.
I love the w.hole series
This is on of my favorite series. Knox and Harper are great together. I love how they challenge each other and support each other. In this book they are trying out o figure out who the 4th Horseman is and how they can get rid of him. They also are adapting to having baby Asher and figuring out his abilities. I’m not usually a fan of babies in books, but Asher is great 🙂 sadly this is the last book in Harper and Knox’s story, but hopefully they will pop up in their friends stories – and Luke too 🙂
As always I’m both happy and sad to see the final book It was a great ending can’t wait for the secondaries stories. Now I can start over at book 1
Suzanne Wright has delivered another great story. This is last book in the series where Harper and Knox will be the main characters. Loved the story, the twist and turns, the suspense and of course baby Asher. Looking forward to the next book.
