This book picks up right where the first one left off. Jacob is now trying to keep a balance between 2 worlds. All the while, he is trying to come up with a way to save Aloren. And typical of a teenage boy, he has a hard time being patient. Andrea is great at creating and describing wonderful fantasy worlds and this book does not disappoint!
Another 5 star book by Andrea Pearson! The big mystery continues through the entire series, but we do see a must-have conclusion in the saving of a friend left behind in the first book. Jacob’s (the main character) family gets more involved and supportive of his dreams and responsibilities. I may be an adult, but I really love this series so far. A fairly quick read (Under 3 Hours) just before bed.
The continuation of Jacob journey is better than the first. You learn so much more about him however there is clearly so much more to learn. I love the character development. I really felt if I was there with them in the story
Jacob still mourns the fact that he left his new friend, Aloren, in Maivoryl City. He wants to go back to save her no matter what. But will his impatience help him succeed, or get him in deeper trouble? And by the way, what are Ember Gods? Ember Gods picks up where Forsaken Prince left off. The story-line heats up as Jacob tries to find a way to save Aloren. And to make things more interesting, he is still trying to get on the basketball team. Will Jacob be successful at either endeaver? Another must read book from Andrea Pearson. *I received a free eBook copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*
Exciting and a part of a series by this author. Spell binding and full of excitement and adventures. You will want to read the whole series to read.
I loved the original Ember Gods, book 2 of Andrea Pearson’s original Kilenya series (which can still be purchased on Kindle). This despite that fact that I was already several multiple times it’s targeted middle school aged audience. It was a magical tale with a gripping story that held me just as much as similarly targeted stories (Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, et al) managed to do. Now the author has done a remake of that story for her new Kilenya Chronicles, which is target at a young adult and mature adult audience. This is no simple editing of ages with minor tweaks. Instead it is a substantial rewrite, and yet it holds true to that original story and still gives the reader that same sense of wonder. The cast of (somewhat older) characters is wonderfully crafted (with matured emotions and approach to relationships, life crises, etc) and the plot works beautifully and is very (very) well written. I can’t tell which version I prefer, but I can say they are both superb and I’m happy to highly recommend this book (though it’s best to read book 1 in the series first).
This book is about Jacob’s attempt to rescue Aloran who was left behind in Maivoryl City. He has his brother along this time providing a humorous interlude. Pearson has invented some fantastic characters in this second book in the series. New characters are introduced in this version such as The Fat Lady with her potions to help them succeed without the smells making them ill. Great world building. There was a very exciting and intense fight with the Fire Turners, who like to call themselves Ember Gods, towards the end. Very well written so you can easily picture each move. Very exciting. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this book to all young adults and older.
KEEP A STEPPING!!!
Talk about a jam and no jelly. This little guy right here is one exciting adventure that captures your attention from the start. I’m just gonna go ahead and give you guys a warning. You’re going to want the whole series at once. As soon as you finish one installment, you’re going after the next. If you want, you may can use as an investment cause these little puppies you’ll read over and over. Yes, they are that good. I haven’t found anything Andrea has written that’s not worth it. You get your action packed, fast paced, excitement, drama and enough suspense to keep you on your toes and full focus on the words of this page turning dynamo. The characters are well developed and believable with just enough flaws to add a little spice in the mix. Their personalities are unique, vast and varied with qualities and traits that play off one another brilliantly. The scenes are so graphic and descriptive it paints an incredible backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. All the twists and turns with danger around every corner keeps your adrenaline pumping, spine tingling and heart pounding. You will not be able to put this bad boy down once you pick it up. As soon as you finish one book you’re going for the next one. You won’t be able to help yourself. Andrea’s talent and keen sense with detail she brings each to life flawlessly. Fantastic job Andrea, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.
Ember Gods is the second book in the Kilenya Chronicles series. You can read this book as a standalone, but it does begin where Forsaken Prince ended and sets the stage for future books. If you like fantasy, magic and adventure, you will like this book and series. There is violence and use of magic.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I’m not going to repeat all of that info here. The characters are well written and multidimensional. The author does a good job of keeping a steady pace throughout the book to keep this reader interested. It keeps you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed in the pages ahead. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading future books in the Kilenya Chronicles series.
