It’s the type of series that makes you go:”Okay let’s read this completely predictable book.” And then you get sucked into a awesome unpredictable book!
This is a fun series. On to the next book!
The forces of darkness are on the rise and there are traitors everywhere! Picket and Heather must find the courage to lead others, protect the true ruler of Natalia, and stand against their enemies even if it means sacrificing their lives. “Bear the flame!” Love this series by S.D. Smith!
More thrills, more danger, more friendship, more disaster, and a steady, constant gleam of hope. The next one can’t come soon enough.
I chose this book for my kids but wound up addicted to it myself. Such a fun adventure!
This is a delightful book that had my kids on the edge of their seats and begging for “one more chapter”. Ember Falls is everything a children’s book should be. Fun, exciting, life lessons and a cliff hanger. We loved this second installment of the Green Ember series.
Disappointing ending.
I have to say I enjoyed the rabbit resistance more than I anticipated. Every now and then I pick a book from a random genre that is out of my norm and the cover got me to buy this one. I have to say I was pelasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed a book created for younger adults than myself.
I decided to read the first 2 books in the series to see what they were like before I told my grandchildren about them. I had a hard time putting them down. I just really enjoyed the stories!
I wouldn’t call it comparable to Chronicles of Narnia. That’s a pretty high bar, and I don’t see the allegory so clearly. But it is an entertaining read of young rabbits rising to hero status. If rabbits are the heroes, it makes sense that wolves and hawks are the villains. A kingdom is at stake, and a prince prepares to rule. But the author keeps the suspense up, and the reader can’t be sure who is friend and who is foe. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
Love the characters in this book.
I listened to this book on Audible, and the narration was well done. A great sequel to The Green Ember. A wonderful fantasy for all ages.
Great collection, full of fantasy and great stories and characters
Riveting and inspiring prose. This book goes beyond it’s age target and is great for everyone!!
Ember Falls is one of my new favorite books. I haven’t read book this well written in a long time. No magic, language or anything objectionable.
This is the most recent in a series of fantasy-adventure books written mainly for older children, similar in style to Tolkien and Lewis. I started reading to see if the series was something to keep in mind for grandchildren to grow into, but I’ve enjoyed reading the books, and I appreciate the values the author elevates. The vocabulary is understandable for young readers but also accomplished and creative.
