This book is the sixth book in the internationally bestselling Eagle Elite Series. It’s an interconnected stand alone novel with no cliffhanger.
Twenty-Four hours before we were to be married–I offered to shoot her.
Ten hours before our wedding–I made a mockery of her dying wish.
Five hours before we were going to say our vows–I promised I’d never love her.
One hour before I said I do–I … her.
One hour before I said I do–I vowed I’d never shed a tear over her death.
But the minute we were pronounced man and wife–I knew.
I’d only use my gun to protect her.
I’d give my life for hers.
I’d cry.
And I would, most definitely, lose myself, to a dying girl—a girl who by all accounts should have never been mine in the first place.
I always believed the mafia would be my end game–poisoning my heart, while it claimed my soul. I could have never imagined. It would be my redemption.
Or the beginning of something beautiful.
The beginning of her.
The end of us.

I wish I could give a book more than 5 stars because this one would have the most I could give. I loved this book and hated it at the same time. How can a book be so sad and so happy at the same time? It was such a good love story between 2 unlikely people that find love together and then lose it to an awful disease. It was my favorite of the Eagle Elite series so far. I would highly recommend it but be sure to have a lot of tissues handy.
This book was amazing. It had me laughing and crying throughout the whole book and I rarely ever cry when it comes to books. This love story though sad was beautiful. Words fail to fully express all the feels that Rachel makes you have while reading it. She did a amazing job
Eurgh, this book! It really, really got me!
Sergio and Andi’s story is honestly so beautiful and emotional and loving and scary and sad and all of the words and feelings.
This genuinely is the first book that has made me cry in a long time. I’m quite hard, so for this book to have me shedding tears at the end is an absolute win!
A book with a non-happy, happy ending is always a hard one for me as I do love a happy ending but in this book, I get it.
Elude is such a great addition to the Eagle Elite series and if you have loved the books in the series previous to this one then this one will definitely blow your mind.
If you haven’t started the series yet then what are you waiting for? It’s complete, full of hot and sexy mafia men, and honestly overall just an amazing series!
Rachel Van Dyken is a genius, no joke.
This book broke me.
I fell in love with Andi as soon as she opened her sassy mouth. She was full of light, optimism and happiness even though she knew her fate, she lived and the way she lived brought Sergio to life. As you turn the pages and Sergio finds a reason to live and to laugh, you fall in love with them as they fall in love with each other.
I laughed out loud more in this book than the previous ones. Each book brings the guys to another level of their loyalty to one another and with the dark moments they deal with they also hand out this amazing banter that makes you smile and laugh only to leave your heart shredded the next moment.
I can’t wait to see Sergio get his forever in book 7
*4-4.5 Stars*
Another great instalment in the EE series. I wasn’t too sure going in, if I would like Sergio. And by the end, I can’t really say that I liked him a huge amount, but he had definitely grown on me. He changed his ways and came alive a lot more.
I loved Andi, she was an absolutely wonderful character. Full of life and just lots of fun, I think she’d be a wonderful person to be around.
Lots of other things at play in this one as well, and of course all our favourites are back, because family is a huge part of this series, so they’re never far away. Each book is as much about the workings of the family, as it is about the individual characters in the books.
Looking forward to more from this series, hopefully diving in soon.
I WASN’T PREPARED!! Oh my god…the tears, the sadness, the love…it was so overwhelming. The sadness, love and hope filled these pages in equal measure.
Sergio’s punishment for his betrayal was to marry Andi. A daughter of a Russian mob boss that needed their protection. But the marriage wasn’t to be a long one and he was nothing but angry for being put in that position.
Andi knew her time was short but she refused to let her eternal optimism be taken away. She still looked at at the beauty in everything and it was that characteristic that eventually wore down dark and brooding persona. She was his match in skill and wasn’t afraid to put him in his place, but she did it with so much grace. I LOVED HER!!
And poor Sergio. To finally have his walls torn down so that the sunlight shone and to only have the sun taken away from him… I cried for him and his heartbreak and pain. Oh, this story BROKE me.
Make sure you keep the Kleenex nearby. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
I just… I can’t even… this is the first book of Rachel’s that I actually inboxed her and expressed my hatred. This review is going to be short because I can’t wrap my head around this s***. I really loved Andi she was playful and always upbeat, “you heard him.” I slapped Sergio on the as**. “Put me down. Wouldn’t want to hurt me?” There was nothing bad about Andi she was just a great girl this was more her story then Sergi’s, “well…” I licked my lips. “…you could start by taking your hand off my boob.” He looked down again. “Or you could keep it there if that’s how you start all your mornings, but then it begs the question… do you grab your own, or do you simply imagine someone else’s?” The ending killed me Rachel I just can’t even… it
Wow! I love the Eagle Elite series and this one does not disappoint!!
Do not miss this one. Trust me.
I really liked the love story between the two characters. I enjoyed history interacted with each other and how they truly say each other for who they were. I am not one that enjoys violence so there was to much in this story for me. I cried at the end but it felt good. This book is part of a series but you can stop or keep reading to continue the story.
