An Upper Young Adult/New Adult Paranormal Romance series, featured in USA Today.
Kristia Tostenson prefers Earl Grey to Grey Goose and book clubs to nightclubs. But when she transfers from her one-stoplight Oregon town to Cardiff University in Wales, she falls in love with Ull Myhr. Her new boyfriend isn’t exactly what she was expecting. His cashmere sweaters and old world charm mask a warrior … a warrior who’s spent an eternity fighting for his very existence. Ull is an honest-to-goodness Norse god — an immortal assassin fated to die at Ragnarok, the battle destined to destroy Asgard and Earth. On top of being marked for death, Asgardian law prohibits Ull from tying his fate to a mortal. No matter what she feels for Ull, Kristia knows she’s the one thing he can never have.
With Ragnarok on the horizon and a lunatic haunting her dreams, Kristia has to find a way to convince Ull that breaking the rules is the only way to survive; that defying the order he’s sworn to uphold is their only chance to be together. And when someone starts asking the wrong questions, Kristia realizes the crazy visions she’s had all her life might be the key to saving their realms… even if they end up costing her her life. ELSKER by S. T. Bende
Norse mythology, modern day Midgard intersects with Gods
I posted this same review on Amazon
I enjoyed the first two parts of the Elsker Saga so much I bought the rest of the Saga. Although the novel seemed to start slowly, the pace picked up to an exciting conclusion (to be continued). I have been interested in Scandinavian …
I love everything I’ve ever read by this amazing author. This series is particularly close to my heart. I love everything to do with Norse Mythology and it brings it to life in a fascinating and amazing way. 110% Recommended!!!!!
Kristia moves to Wales for her study. She wants to do something different for a change, feeling not the crazy one, because everybody knows about her visions in her home town. She wants a fresh start.
I like the way she first goes sightseeing in London and running into Ull before going to Cardiff. Always funny to read about some familiar places in …
Wish I could get the whole series for free
Typical romance, but I liked the main character A LOT, more than I normally would in a story like this. I enjoyed the romance even if it was fast. It was a bit cheesy, but I mean falling in love always has those awkward moments so the first book has a lot of world and character building, so the over arching plot didn’t really come to full …
Out of all the books by S.T. Bende this one is my most favorite. It shows you the world of norse mythology in a whole new way, a more human lifestyle way. It is absolutely a book you never want to end. Thankfully the author didn’t let it and continued on to 2 more books plus a novella! Put this on your book list you will not be disappointed!
Great story line and character development. Nice job tying in the real world and mythology
I really liked the book. Enjoyed plain girl meets handsome guy fall in love.
I’m not usually into this kind of book but this was unpredictable. Couldn’t put this one down!
Interesting, kept my interest all the way through. Recommended.
Interesting premise
This was completely derivative dreck…I am willing to read just about any type a sci-fi/fantasy genre books and something based on the Norse gods sounded intriguing but it turned into a drivelling romance that was not even marginally compelling. I actually deleted it from my kindle library as I never even would entertain the thought of wasting …
Well written and often funny.
Written so well you can put yourself in this exchange-student’s shoes; studying abroad, learning to get along with dorm-mates, finding a boyfriend…who has an intriguing history. Fun, alive, and definitely a chick-flick story. You’ll want to read the other 3 books in the series, and maybe even the tie-in series, too!
Enjoyed it.
Good read right away and keeps you wanting to keep turning pages. I love how respectful Ull is toward the woman he loves and desires. If only all men treated their ladies this way!
Another romance where the girl would do anything, oh anything, for her big, strong, handsome man. Yawn.
A quick and eaasyread. Fun , pure fantasy, and some scary parts. Found myself staying up to finish it. Ended up doing thr same wilh the rest of the set. Looking forward to getting the next series. Says for young adults, but at 72 I can still enjoy a fun read. I will probably read it again.
Fun paranormal story in which an American meets and falls in love with Loki, the Norse god, who is parading around Caernavon Wales as a University student along with a few other Nordic mythological characters. It;s the first in a series, and they are pretty good. I’ve noticed an increasing number of books and a few movies which deal with the …
Not only did I love this book, I read the entire series!
