You’re never too old to run away from homeEllie Dwyer, 61, is convinced bad luck comes in threes, and not just garden-variety, oh-well bad luck. How many people have to flee not one, but two natural disasters? And in between the wildfire and the hurricane, her husband of nearly forty years suddenly up and left her for no reason she could fathom, disappearing from her life without a clue to his … life without a clue to his whereabouts.
Determined to reinvent her life, Ellie sets out on a journey across the country. Along the way to nowhere in particular, she buys a camper, becomes friends with a remarkable octogenarian, and starts to believe that good luck might also come in threes.
Or does it? That depends on how she defines good luck.

I highly recommend
Excellent read, with one walk of life.
A great read!! Thoroughly entertaining! A very interesting plot and memorable characters. I enjoyed the whole book.
I loved that Ellie just never gave up, even when she wasn’t sure what she was doing. Very inspirational
I’m a camper and was interested because of this. Decent book overall.
My only disappointment was the reunion. It was unrealistic. Otherwise, it was a great read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I don’t normally read this type of story, but I gave it a chance because I felt that I could relate to the main character due to our being the same age. Her adventures held my attention throughout the book and the author made the storyline and characters very believable. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an easy enjoyable read.
This was a fun read. Pretty far fetched ending but I enjoyed it anyway.
Draws you in and has great character development! Timely and heart warming! Fun read!
As an independent married woman I went on trips and camping and lived all of the things this woman eventually did and then some. If I had met her I could give her a ton of tips about trailering or tenting or fishing or hiking or….Anyway, I did really enjoy this book and I felt for her when the end was coming.
I loved this book because it was a different topic and story centering on a mature woman and her camping adventures. I loved the friend she found and the bond they developed.
There were many things in this book that were not plausible but it was still interesting, especially for campers who can relate to many incidents. Characters were very well done.
I loved this book from the first word to the last word! I’m about to embark on the nomad lifestyle myself and it gave me an insight to the process of becoming a new person. Thanks for writing it.
This was a quick read and kept me interested. For fiction it was pretty good. A fairly surprising ending. All in all, worth the time to read it.
I enjoy most stories about life on the road. This book started out after a major even in the main characters life had already happened. It was the ribbon that twisted and turned through the whole story. A rough ending, but life is often like that. I’d love to read another book about this character and what happened next.
I thought the author did a great job of building a older gals life, experiences her reaction to these experiences. I did somewhat the same thing and just never looked back. A great summer read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The characters were diverse and well developed. Great story and a satisfying ending. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed the subject matter of the book, different from most I have read. It was easy to read and held my interest.
Well written and real life. Thoughtful life processes although painful were loving and inspirational.
I just thoroughly enjoyed this book. Life like!
