*A Sweet, Clean Western Romance*Ella has always been determined and headstrong, vowing only to marry for love. At her age, it seems like her chances of that happening have slipped away. This is a great continuation of the Oregon Sky series. Titus Cain had come to Bethany, Oregon with the wagon train. He set to work for Walter, who turned out to be his uncle. While working for his uncle he met Ella a headstrong girl from a neighboring farm. Ella was working horses for Walter. After the death of Walter, Ella learns she is now the proud owner of half of Walter’s land. She learns that Titus whom she assumed was just an employee of Walter’s was the other part owner. This book has mystery, intrigue, romance and wonderful characters. This can be a stand alone book or read as a series. If you want updates on previous characters they do make appearances in the continuation books!
HOLDING OUT FOR A DREAM
I enjoyed this third book in the Oregon Sky Series where we have come to know the Wallace family and their friends. Titus Cain had come to help his Uncle Walter Jenkins out on his ranch after the death of his brother, Martin. Now someone has not only killed Martin, but Walter has been murdered, and Titus was unable to stop it or to see who it was. Too many mysterious incidences, stolen horses, and not only these deaths have Titus concerned. The reading of the will comes as a shock, with the ranch being shared by Titus and Ella Wallace, who has worked with Walter training horses.
The plot is full of mystery, suspense, secrets, devious characters, nefarious acts, and then throw in a determined woman, who won’t let anyone stop her from her dream and work. Ella will defy convention, will move to the shack and live on the ranch as an unmarried lady. Titus will move to the barn, and they will try and get along. Evil is lurking and has a sinister plan, wanting the land owned by Walter, but how far will they go to obtain the property? One man has been trying to buy the land for years, is he behind all the trouble. There is a great cast of characters with plenty of angst and entertainment. This is a clean story and will read well as a standalone but more enjoyable as the series in the order written.
Ella, like any woman, has dreams, she wants a man to love that will love her unconditionally, allow her to be his partner and work together and hopefully have children as part of that love. But no man has come along that makes her feel loved. Titus Cain is living with demons of his past, a cruel, abusive father who told Titus he was just like him. He refuses to be that man or put any woman in danger, so he vows not to marry. Titus and Ella have a love-hate working relationship.
They both notice the other, but both have decided not to marry for various reasons. Living on a ranch together leads tongues to wagging, but one unfortunate event will alter their life, even if it was innocent. The guilt of entrapment, an unwanted marriage of convenience, but what about love and desire? Was Walter’s plan of joint ownership a form of matchmaking from the grave?
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a fair review!
A wonderful story of two people who think they shouldn’t be together but are better together than alone! This is my favorite kind of tale! Ella will only marry for love, but feels she’s lost her chance because of her old age at 23! Titus is afraid he’ll repeat the sins of his father and grandfather and vows to never marry. Kay weaves a tale that requires them to marry and forces them to see beyond their fears and discover their worth! I highly recommend this book and the whole Oregon Sky Series! Enjoy!
This book kept me coming back for more!
Enjoyed the story
Fun weekend read. Love a happy ending.
I love the older western books with mail order brides.
Loved this book.
enjoyed reading
I could not put the book down.
Sweet historical romance with a little mystery but you can figure out who the bad guy is pretty early. I like that Ella is a strong female lead
Reminded me of myself! Very much enjoyed this book.
I really enjoy reading Historical Romances. Very good story!
It was ok, but instantly predictable.
Great book entertaining !
The storyline was predictable and the writing was too simplistic. I would call it amateurish. The thing that bothered me most, however, was the grammatical errors. Numerous times wrong words were used in the narrative (not in the dialogue, which would be understandable), such as “broke” instead of “broken” and “spoke” instead of “spoken”. Such errors are very distracting.
enjoyed, would recommend
Ella’s Embrace brings together Ella Wallace and Titus Cain as co-owners of a farm where Titus’s uncle Walter raised horses when Walter was killed chasing a horse thief. Ella wants her independence, to marry for love and to have a home and family of her own. Titus wants to find the murderer of his younger brother and Uncle Walter and return back East to Tennessee.
As they work together and find clues to the identity of the murderer and face dangers together romance develops despite the verbal sass and bating of each other. They are found in a compromising situation and have to face the consequences together until the two stubborn pair found a way to a happy ever after.
Great read..
