Blinded
It starts with a bang, but it quietly reels you in through the rest of the story. There will be laughter, there will be tears, there will be “squee”s and there will be “awe”s. Just be prepared for the full emotional roller-coaster because you’re about to be taken for a ride. The more I learned about Joey and Mara, and their families and friends, the harder I was rooting for Joey to protect the community and wanted to see the killer brought to justice. I’m fully invested in Elkridge and now I’m anxiously waiting for the next book because this is definitely part of a series: there are several questions that get asked that aren’t answered in this volume. My curiosity badly wants to know those answers.
Abandoned
This book is tightly packed with detail and emotion. And on the emotional note, keep the tissues handy. There’s lots deep, of tear-inducing moments. I’m a little at a loss for words because the emotions in this book were so intense, and in a lot of ways, cut pretty close to home. This is a good reminder that even though we talk, we don’t always communicate. And our perceptions of someone or something are just that – our thoughts about it. I was rooting so hard for Chase and Ashley to figure out how to make their relationship work. In fact, there were several times I wanted to take Ashley and try to shake some sense into her. But having been programmed for that many years with all that neurotic self-doubt, I’m not that surprised she fought it. Chase is that perfect blend of take-charge alpha and loving protector. I’m three-quarters of the way in love with him myself, Ashley had no chance of resisting him. We still don’t know the identity of Sheriff Sam’s killer, but there are more clues now and that makes me want to read the rest of the series even more.
Orphaned
Like the previous books in the series, this one takes you on an emotional roller-coaster ride. Expect the unexpected and bring the tissues because this book runs the gamut from sweet to spicy, from heart-breaking to inspiring, and everything else in between with love and laughter to keep it all moving along. The author has made a life-long fan out of me. Besides, how else will I find out the rest of the story if I don’t keep reading?
Rescued
Every book in this series is fantastic. And with each new title added, they just keep getting better and better. Each installment built on the last, enriching the fabric of Elkridge, introducing us to some of her most influential citizens, and providing us with essential clues to who killed sheriff Sam Gaccione and why. I can’t say I’m completely surprised by who the bad guys are but I totally wasn’t expecting the actual mastermind it turns out to be. Keep the tissues handy because you’re probably going to need them before the end of this emotional roller-coaster ride. Karly and Thad both have deep emotional wounds. So deep that maybe they shouldn’t even attempt a relationship. But the heart wants what it wants and these two brave souls show us that growth can happen even in the least likely circumstances.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
Twist and Turns
This series keeps you are your toes. Yes there is love, friendships, and family. But what starts is off is a murder. That starts the history & the getting of answers for everyone. Great Romantic Suspense.
very enjoyable light reading, will be reading the next set soon.
The novels in this collection make Lyz an automatic buy for me. I love them. Her well developed storylines are filled with relatable and memorable characters. They unfold so beautifully, grabbing hold of your faculties and emotions, and keeping them thoroughly engaged.
Blinded: This is an all time favorite of mine for rereading. Joey and Mara are just perfect together. So much love and healing with just the right amount of suspense. Mara, who is blind, has such brilliant input and Joey is just a dream machine.
Spurned: Both Kym and Zach have been “spurned” in their relationships with other people. They have lost their sense of joy and the spontaneity that can often spark it. Trust is in short supply. But in this little gem of a novella, they come to trust themselves and each other. They take their immediate attraction for each other and figure out what it is they really want in life. To build on their budding happiness the choices they make take courage and trust.
Abandoned: I absolutely loved this book. The story is beautifully written with a style that simply flows, with enough twists turns to the plot to increase the interest level. Both Ashley and Chase have major feelings of grief and abandonment. So, with the help of some wonderful people in the little town of Elkridge, they learn to trust in themselves and each other. Love can help the healing.
Orphaned: Again, this one is a favorite reread. Jenna is sweet and giving and full of love, but she is unable to fully trust anyone. Grant is every woman’s yumcake , and is always trying to make things right for the people that he loves. Jenna must learn that love without trust has an awful time working. This is such a fabulous story.
Exposed: Gwen and Dale make a perfect couple with chemistry that is hot, but oh, so sweet. The turns and twists in this novella challenge these two to straighten them out for a wonderful and satisfying conclusion.
Rescued: This book ends the series just beautifully. Thad and Karly are phenomenal characters who just pull at your emotions. The mysteries are solved and we have another story of healing love from a fantastic storyteller.
These are such well-developed stories that have such a depth of emotion. They should not be missed.
I enjoyed reading all of these books as individual reads. The characters and the mysterious events in Elkridge and very engaging. It starts with a murder and then other events start to unfold. The characters will keep you entertained and solving the murder and other happenings will keep you wanting to read til the very end. I highly recommend this series.
