I loved being back on Pentecost Island, being back with the girls it was so good, this time we get to meet Eliza, who we met at the end of the first book Pippa, and what a story Eliza has to tell this one is very heart wrenching at times, but so very moving as the girls pull together and get to know Eliza and the new male who arrives Phillipe.
Eliza Pengelly was travelling with her friend in Italy and having the best time, but when she makes a mistake that will change her life forever, everything as she knows it changes. When a chance to get her life back arrives she takes it and moves on, she finds herself on Pentecost Island with four other woman working on Eco resort and with the wood working skills she has Eliza jumps in to help. But when someone from her past arrives things could go horribly wrong.
Phillipe Renton is a Frenchman sailing the world on his yacht he pulls into Pentecost Island to have a drink and a look around the island when he thinks he is seeing a ghost when he meets Eliza, he feels for her and knows part of her secret and he has never felt a pull like this before for a woman but Eliza is not only beautiful she is vulnerable and he is determined to help her and get to know her better.
I am loving this series and the characters that MS Seaton has bought to life on the pages and on the beautiful island in the Whitsunday’s, they are so easy to get to know and become friends with and seeing them find happiness while building the resort has been fabulous and I cannot wait for Nell’s story, catching up with Pippa and Rafe and seeing their relationship grow and I am sure that Ren and Eliza are going to fly to the moon together.
This is a story and series that I highly recommend, so well written the descriptions of the islands makes me feel like I am there and the characters what can I say these girls show what friendship is all about, thank you for another fabulous story.
Interesting and entertaining characters. Like a story where the characters have issues and turmoil to deal with on their journey to love! Would recommend.

This is not a standalone, it picks up from the cliffhanger of book one. These are shorter stories and love seeing that the book still has the female friendship up front. We learn more about a new girl, Eliza who escape a horrible marriage. Can’t wait to see what happens with the resort and hope more of them get the HEA. Wish it was a bit longer. So far Book 1 and 2 could of been one book. So far loving this series! Can’t wait for more of them

An exciting and mysterious next installment in the Pentecost Island saga. I enjoyed getting to know this new character and see those we grew to love in the first book. I’m looking forward to learning more about Nell soon!

Wow what a story! This follows the story of Eliza and her Journey to the Island! It’s fantastically written and keeps you wanting more! I can’t wait for the rest of the series!
You will want to read book 1 to see the character growth and how they came about being on the island.
This book is two stories running on a slightly different time line. I knew they would mesh eventually but wondered how and why. Who on earth is Eliza anyway, another mystery thrown into the mix, it will all make sense eventually.
A lot of ‘heart in your mouth’ moments in this book with one of the threads. The author touched on a lot of emotions. Horrified, sad and happy the story had it all.
A great Saturday afternoon read for me, I highly recommend it.
Eliza is Annie Seaton’s second book in the Pentecost Island series. I had not read the first book but found that the second book stood well on its own.
The story has two threads, firstly that of Pippa, Evie, Nell and Tam building a resort called Ma Carmichael’s Place on Pentecost Island. Sitting toasting the start of the building works, their peace is shattered when they discover a woman floating in the bay. Eliza is dark haired and wearing a long white dress, but unable to explain how she came to be in the water.
At first Pippa is very suspicious of Eliza, but as she recovers Eliza shows herself to be a willing and skilled worker with great ideas for how to turn Ma’s into a roaring success. Yet underneath it all it is clear that Eliza continues to hold many secrets close to herself.
The second thread is about Marissa, a blonde haired blue eyed beauty who has fallen madly in love with Roscoe, an Italian man with movie star looks. Roscoe is kind, generous and loving and six weeks into their relationship Marissa finds herself marrying him. So what that he has chosen the fabric and design of her dress, paying for it and her hand made shoes, that she has had no say in the organisation of her wedding day, that she is getting married without her parent’s knowledge. She is an adult, and in love, and any niggles she feels must just be the result of wedding nerves.
We flip chapter by chapter between Pippa and the excitement of the progress of the resort on Pentecost Island and the increasing fear and desperation felt by Marissa as the man she married becomes increasingly controlling and abusive, until the arrival of the French Captain Phillipe on Pentecost Island changes everything.
I spent much of this book with my heart in my mouth as my initial fears that Roscoe would turn out to be a controlling, manipulative, perpetrator of domestic abuse unfolded. Seaton describes the events and escalation of domestic violence and the increasing fear, desire not to trigger a response and inability to get away without embellishment. Whilst at the same time acknowledging the skills that a group of women exhibit and combine to create a wonderful resort.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Eliza and am grateful to Annie Seaton for providing me with an ARC to read and review.
