#1 New York Times#1 Wall Street Journal#1 Los Angeles Times#1 Entertainment Weekly#1 Publishers WeeklyStephanie Plum is thinking her career as a fugitive apprehension agent has run its course. She’s been shot at, spat at, cussed at, fire-bombed, mooned, and attacked by dogs. Time for a change, Stephanie thinks. Time to find the kind of job her mother can tell her friends about without making the … Time to find the kind of job her mother can tell her friends about without making the sign of the cross.
So Stephanie Plum quits. Resigns. No looking back. No changing her mind. She wants something safe and normal. As it turns out, jobs that are safe and normal for most people aren’t necessarily safe and normal for Stephanie Plum. Trouble follows her, and the kind of trouble she had at the bail bonds office can’t compare to the kind of trouble she finds herself facing now. Her past has come back to haunt her. She’s stalked by a maniac returned from the grave for the sole purpose of putting her into a burial plot of her own. He’s killed before, and he’ll kill again if given the chance. Caught between staying far away from the bounty hunter business and staying alive, Stephanie reexamines her life and the possibility that being a bounty hunter is the solution rather than the problem. After disturbingly brief careers at the button factory, Kan Klean Dry Cleaners, and Cluck-in-a-Bucket, Stephanie takes an office position in security, working for Ranger, the sexiest, baddest bounty hunter and businessman on two continents. It might not be the job she’ll keep for the rest of her life, but for now it gives her the technical access she needs to find her stalker. Tempers and temperatures rise as competition ratchets up between the two men in her life—her on-again, off-again boyfriend, tough Trenton cop Joe Morelli, and her bad-ass boss, Ranger. Can Stephanie Plum take the heat? Can you?
Between the adventure and the adversity there’s attitude, and Stephanie Plum’s got plenty in her newest misadventure from Janet Evanovich, Eleven on Top.

Okay so there is a bounty hunter worse than Stephanie…Lula! In a attempt to get her life back to normal, Stephanie quits bounty hunting. It’s not the FTAs that’s making her life crazy it’s her family! Throw in a psycho killer staking her and Joe telling her he’s more interested in her body than her personality and you have a great book. (I still think she needs to kick Joe to the curb)
Love all these books, brilliant characters and laugh out loud books.
Stephanie Plum has had enough of working as a bounty hunter and so she up and quits. She gets fired from her next two jobs and the third one business burns down. Meanwhile, she’s receiving anonymous death threats and decides that maybe the safest place to be is working for Ranger and using his office to find out who is threatening her.
Okay, this is my absolute FAVORITE of the Stephanie Plum series. *SPOILERS!* Stephanie quits the bail bonds company. She takes a job—to her mother’s glee—at the freaking button factory. Something her mom’s been wanting her to do since book #1. That doesn’t work out. She gets a job at Cluck in a Bucket, and deceased enemy from the past tosses a bomb in the drive through window. All the while she’s trying to help Lula keep up with the case load at the bonds office. This one is a breath of fresh air for this series, and just goes to show how good you really have it, so don’t quit and take the dumb, boring job your mom wants you to take!—Alice Bello is the author of Hate Him XOXO and Better off Dead.
Best series ever.
Gotta love Stephanie!
Janet is an absolutely brilliant author.
Janet Evanovich is one of my favorite authors of all time. What a colorful cast of characters! I laugh out loud at Stephanie’s escapades. Bravo!
laughed till I cried.
I love the entire Stephanie Plum Series. It’s a great easy read!
I love all the plum books
LOVE ALL HER BOOKS …
I absolutely love the Stephanie Plum series, it is laugh-out-loud funny. A bounty hunter who is afraid of her own gun, but she always gets her man
I love this series of books. Unfortunately they are too expensive to keep reading even though I would really like to read all of them.
Stephanie Plum at her best.
Funny!
This book is a full of action. Do not mess with Stephanie Plum. She will make you pay. The woman has a way of getting even and doesn’t seem to be afraid of anything or anyone. And she doesn’t mind getting dirty. Janet Evanovich creates the most unusual characters. The narrator, Lorelei King, is fabulous! She is the absolute best at creating entertaining voices. You have no trouble differentiating between characters. Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter, is a street smart Jersey girl and someone is out to kill her. Her street smarts come in real handy, not to mention she has Ranger as backup. Unpredictable and very entertaining.
love her writing
I’v read all books love love her books
3.5 Stars
Stephanie Plum has finally had enough. She’s tired of being shot at and having her cars blown up and having the bad guys slam her around. So she turns in her notice and starts looking for a safer job. But this is Stephanie Plum we’re talking about here; trouble seems to follow her wherever she goes. And when Stephanie stops hunting the bad guys, they don’t necessarily stop hunting her.
This is Stephanie Plum! It goes without saying that she and Lula and Grandma Mazur are going to have some insanely funny moments. It also goes without saying that Stephanie is going to have some extremely…um, romantic? lusty? naughty? all of the above?… moments with Morelli or Ranger. You either like the formula or you don’t.
However, this entry wasn’t quite as solid as most of the series for me. Don’t get me wrong. It was just as quirky and laugh-out-loud funny as I expected. The love triangle is just as steamy. But that’s where my problem lies.
I’m starting to feel bad for Morelli and Ranger. I mean, I love reading about them. *Yum* But after 11 books, I wish Stephanie would just pick one already! I know, I know, that would undermine a lot of the books’ structure. But let’s give these poor guys a break! They’ve been waiting around on her to make up her mind for years! If I knew I wouldn’t miss them, I’d even be advocating for both of them to just move on and give up on her. If she can’t choose, she obviously doesn’t really want either of them.
Regardless, I will always recommend this for anyone who enjoys their mysteries with a heaping dose of oddball characters with a penchant for some kooky antics. I will definitely be sticking with this series!
