Thomas Elkin officially came out gay 4 years ago, ending his marriage to his wife and affecting his relationship with his son Ryan. Now, 44 years old he is struggling with balancing his professional life as a highly regarded architect and his personal life. Enter Cooper Jones, 22 year old, newest intern under Tom and also his son’s friend. Work visits at Tom’s home, a respect for the art of architecture, sly glances and flirty comments leaves Tom wanting more from Cooper. But his company has a strict no fraternization policy, the age gap between the two men is significant and Cooper is Ryan’s friend. Should Tom risk it all for a shot at love?
I loved, loved, loved this book! The witty banter between Tom and Cooper had my laughing out loud. I typically read books with alternating POV because I like hearing from both perspectives. This book is told only from Tom’s viewpoint and honestly I think it thrived. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything by not hearing Cooper’s; Tom was a great narrator of his story and you could understand the emotions and inner turmoil he was facing as his attraction to Cooper grew. The chemistry between the two men had me swooning and I gladly would recommend to all to read this book!
KU. I loved, loved, loved this book. The characters, the banter, the low angst yet still realistic relationship issues. Two distinct personalities. Tom & Cooper are fantastic together.
My grumble ~ this isn’t a book, it’s a serial. It’s a single book broken up into three small novella sized parts. It took me less than 8 hours to read all 3. Sadly, I would LOVE to own this on Audible ~ but there’s no way I’m shelling out 3 credits (or even 3 whispersync discounts) for what’s a single book.
(And yes, I’m putting the same review on all 3 “books” because they’re all actually part of the same story.)
What a delightful May/December romance this was! It was fast-paced, steamy and had very likable characters. I loved Cooper. His zest for life and cheerful attitude were infectious. He knows what he wants for himself professionally and personally, and there is nothing sexier than such confidence and self-assurance. Thomas is a successful architect who is in the prime of his life. But something is missing – that special person to love and cherish. The last thing he expects when he meets Cooper is to fall for a man half his age.
I loved how their relationship developed, how Cooper understood Tom and how perfect they were together both in bed and out. There was humor and romance, passion and a little bit of angst, the inner workings of architectural firm that made this book very engaging. I loved secondary characters namely Jennifer and Ryan. They made this book well rounded and I enjoyed reading their interactions with both Tom and Cooper. I will definitely continue with the series. I highly recommend it.
And my N.R. Walker binge continues!
My cousin has been after me forever to read this series and now I understand why…s0 sweet and and sexy! And that Cooper is such a sassy pants, so adorable!
Disclaimer of sorts- if this was an m/f book with the H 22 years older than the h, I would have never picked it up, the age gape would have made me way too uncomfortable. But for some reason it just doesn’t bother when me it’s m/m. Heck even m/f with the h being older than the H I would have been all over it!
