I really thought at some point my life would be my own, that I’d gain a little control over the chaos. I desperately hoped allies would be allies and enemies would be obvious. No such luck. When I’m forced to ally with Braden, the man I hate more than anyone else, I only do so out of desperation. But I couldn’t see a way to win without Braden’s help, especially once my father showed up. Another … Another man who was supposed to love me but decided my death was better. As if nothing else could go wrong.
And where were my elementals in all of this? Weren’t they supposed to be keeping me from making stupid decisions? Decisions that could affect the outcome of the battle against a crazed vampire. They’re conspiring with an enemy I didn’t know existed.
In the midst of a literal whirlwind, I’m forced to choose between the life I want to keep and the one everyone else needs me to embrace. Can I put aside my selfish desires and sacrifice everything to protect the supernatural community? Maybe it won’t matter in the end.

I really don’t have much to say about this third instalment, other than ‘Wow! Loved it!’ This was such an unexpected conclusion to the trilogy but the story is obviously not yet finished (not by a long shot) and I have me a good feeling where this one is off to in the next book. Still, the beauty of Bostic is that nothing is predictable, so I may yet be wrong. Anyway, in short: if you want to discover a new brilliant author, you NEED to start this series – no if, but, or maybe! As for me… well, I cannot wait for the release of her next book!
AJ learns more about her new fae powers as she finally meets Cedric, her father, as he reveals that he taught her many things over the years, but protected her by blocking her memories. AJ learns many truths about the sordid people in her life, testing her emotions and heart while feeding her darkness inside her as the confrontation with Jack looks in Cairo. There’s plenty of drama, action, surprising twists, and heartbreak that will keep you turning the pages just to see if there’s light at the end of AJ’s path because it seems to her that her life isn’t her to control, as everyone, even her own elementals have been manipulating her entire life. This one tests her resolve but will it break her? Read it and find out for yourself! I highly recommend this one!
Well, I certainly never saw THAT coming. Oh, sure, you can expect a major battle, and you won’t be disappointed. AJ finds more of herself and those around her. The elementals play their predictable part in everything that happens. But there are some plots and twists that come completely out of left field and catch the reader by surprise. I loved it – and you will, too.
Of course, going into this book, I expected it to be the end. It’s not, and I’m eagerly looking forward to the next installment.
This book is such a page turner! I’ve loved this whole series, but this is my favorite. AJ is growing up in this book, dealing with harsh realities of life and death. The romantic turns this story takes are fun and not what I expected.
As I read more paranormal books like this one, I’ve noticed a trope: A paranormal male character who has long life or is immortal is a real jerk. But somehow, the female character (who’s human or, at the very least, young) falls in love with him, and he turns likable (or he turns likable, and then she falls in love with him). One side of me likes this trope; I’m a sucker for redemption stories. Another side of me tends to be disturbed by such a storyline; should this girl really give such a jerk another chance?
In Elemental’s Domain, I appreciated how Bostic handled this particular trope. I won’t give any spoilers, but there’s a believable, satisfying reason for a male character to undergo a shift that makes him more likable. As a reader, I developed trust in the male character, so I was able to get behind the subsequent romantic relationship.
Bostic’s world is well-designed, with lots of different paranormal/magical creatures & people. In this book, we see the series’ main conflict resolved, but a new conflict arises, leaving room for future books. I’ll be excited to read them when they come out!
I received a complimentary digital copy of this book, and this is my honest review.
This book is slightly different to the others in the series in that most of the main characters take more of a back set and it concentrates almost entirely on AJ. You learn some history and find out who and what AJ really is. Her life starts to go in a completely different and unexpected direction. It fits in well with the storyline, but does involve the death of a favourite character, which I am NOT happy about, but I can’t expect authors to be mind-readers and do what I want instead of what they want. I understand the reasons for it, but it doesn’t mean I have to like it.
This author makes me wish I had more time to read as I had to read this one in chunks instead of all at once and I really didn’t want to put it down.
