#1 New York Times Best Seller!”Eleanor & Park reminded me not just what it’s like to be young and in love with a girl, but also what it’s like to be young and in love with a book.”-John Green, The New York Times Book ReviewBono met his wife in high school, Park says.So did Jerry Lee Lewis, Eleanor answers.I’m not kidding, he says. You should be, she says, we’re 16.What about Romeo and Juliet?… he says.
You should be, she says, we’re 16.
What about Romeo and Juliet?
Shallow, confused, then dead.
I love you, Park says.
Wherefore art thou, Eleanor answers.
I’m not kidding, he says.
You should be.
Set over the course of one school year in 1986, this is the story of two star-crossed misfits-smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you’ll remember your own first love-and just how hard it pulled you under.

I read YA so that I know what my students are reading.
I have to admit that some plot turns were a tad unrealistic, but the relationship between Eleanor and Park was probably the most realistically-rendered young love I have ever read. It took me back…..
Amazing characters. This author captures teenagehood better than almost anyone else I have ever read. And this is mostly a love story and I hate love stories. But I loved this book.
Couldn’t put it down. Finished it in one go.
Surprisingly, this book gave me a new perspective on everything.
If I loved Fangirl, I loved, loved, loved Eleanor and Park. What a wonderful story and a wonderful read. The characters are incredible.
I love this book so much that I have read it multiple times!
OMG!
Way to leave a girl hanging!
I totally need more of Eleanor and Park. I can’t just sit here wondering what those three words were. I know what I want them to be but…
Oh how I love this story. I flew through it too, it was just a story you couldn’t get enough of if you tried.
Talented writing here! I will definitely be reading more from this …
I love this book, it’s one of my favorite books. We meet two very different characters that meet and reluctantly become friends, it’s a genuine story and the characters really bring to life this great story.
I really, really wanted to like this. But the plotline and characters seemed stereotypical and maybe even a little cliched and the ending…don’t get me started. I’m going to give Rainbow’s “Simon Snow” series a chance.
This is a beautifully written book about first loves but not the normal happy popular teens first love story. Eleanor and Park both have issues and both find life in general difficult let alone just school life going wrong. This book has all the songs in it that I grew up listening to and reminded me a little of growing up with an absent father …
I finished this book in one day. The characters were realistic. Real people with flaws, while still showcasing the immaturity of their youth. The author’s descriptions of the teens first love was so realistic and I couldn’t help but be taken back to my first high school love as well. Wonderfully written.
This is a YA novel, but this grandma loved it. It takes you right back to the awkwardness of being in Jr High. The characters are wonderful.
This is one of my all-time favorite books. I was not Eleanor or Park as a child, but I was riding on their school bus, living my own drama. This book makes me wish I hadn’t been so caught up in my own drama and would have been brave enough to reach out to other kids who were, like me, not feeling like I fit in.
This story sucked me in and held me captive well past “the end.” I spend more time than I should thinking about Omaha, Nebraska, and a love story that at first glance doesn’t seem like anything special. That’s what made this story so amazing. The romance didn’t rush or push or force, but we were able to see those feelings grow from nothing to …
Oooh this was a great book! Totally recommend this book to Everyone. I even got one of my friends to read this book and she loved it too!
I loved it.
I’d been meaning to read this book for a long time on the recommendation of my friends and I finally got to it. It’s terrific! I fell in love with Eleanor and Park. Well drawn, wonderful, unique characters. This book makes you feel the thrill of first love and also shows you what it is like to grow up with a family life that is far, far less than …
I love and offbeat romance and this has been a favorite of mine for years. and loved all the 80s references too!
