#1 New York Times Best Seller!”Eleanor & Park reminded me not just what it’s like to be young and in love with a girl, but also what it’s like to be young and in love with a book.”-John Green, The New York Times Book ReviewBono met his wife in high school, Park says.So did Jerry Lee Lewis, Eleanor answers.I’m not kidding, he says. You should be, she says, we’re 16.What about Romeo and Juliet?… he says.
You should be, she says, we’re 16.
What about Romeo and Juliet?
Shallow, confused, then dead.
I love you, Park says.
Wherefore art thou, Eleanor answers.
I’m not kidding, he says.
You should be.
Set over the course of one school year in 1986, this is the story of two star-crossed misfits-smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you’ll remember your own first love-and just how hard it pulled you under.

Got this book free. Loved this book, not one for love stories but, this was so easy to read and the characters were very real, fragile people. The story was of a hard reality laced with a warm and sweet affection.
One of my favorite books by one of my favorite authors. You can boil down the plot into one meh-worthy phrase: a tale of teenage star-crossed lovers. But any summarization of plot for this book strips it of all its potent magic.
I enjoyed the sweet tale of overly tough hard life Eleanor and seemingly perfect Park with his overbearing mother.
The meeting of the pair, the development of the story and the over charismatic relationship the developed.
Not only my was this a sweet innocent romance but it highlights the lesson of you can judge a book by its cover.
I chose an …
This brought me back to a time in the 80’s with all the music that was shared. This book was more than music however with intense plot line and wonderful characters that made it hard to put down.
I adored this book! It was very nostalgic for me because I was the same age as Eleanor & Park when this story took place in ’86 and it just brought me right back to the great ’80’s and what it was like being a teenager back then. Great story and engaging characters
It sad and a bit of happy at the sametime like the writter is a perfectionno comments on that …fantabulous work
I love it!! So so so much!!
It took me forever to getting around to reading this book—I finally did it! I really didn’t like the profanity in it (man, F-bombs going off continually, and occasionally worse, including using God’s name in horrid ways) but the voice was Pure Awesome. Such a great writing style, sparse and surprising and profound and poetic. The characters are …
The ONLY thing I didn’t love about this book was the ending. Felt like I was jipped when I got so involved in the characters lives.
This is another of the books that jumps back and forth viewpoints between Eleanor (awkward, poor new girl) and Park. At first, it is just the story of the two of their lives and how they circled around each other. …
This book was really good! I loved feeling like I was a part of their everyday interactions. Great writing, left you wanting more of the story
Eleanor & Park, by Rainbow Rowell, is a 2013 YA novel about, as you might guess, two characters named Eleanor and Park, who seem at first to have little in common but end up meaning everything to each other.
It’s 1986, and Eleanor has just returned home after being kicked out of her house for a year by her drunkard stepfather, Richie. She’s been …
Real life teen romance
Loved this book. Reminded me of middle school and real life as an adult all in one. Unforgettable characters that stick with you for weeks.
If you know what it’s like being an outsider, this book is for you, no matter your age.
This is my first read by Rainbow Rowell. Don’t you love her name? I also love her wild mane (so apparent in her …
Eleanor & Park is an outstanding novel that dives into the deeper meanings and struggles of young love and leaves the reader with overwhelming emotion and empathy. I definitely give this book five stars for the overall themes brought out from a simple-seeming love story between two simple-seeming teenagers. The author really digs out important and …
The characters are just awful and off-putting. I just couldn’t like them.
The story of an unexpected love affair between two unhappy teens. The genius of this story is the transformation of the reader’s understanding of their families. In the beginning, it sounds like two dysfunctional families, two misunderstood teens. But by the end, both families look completely different. I can’t say enough except that these kids …
I absolutely loved this book. The perspectives are unique and the writing is imaginative and engaging.
Rainbow Rowell has done it again with yet another amazingly written, page turning book.
Though I feel as a Reader and Aspiring Author, I feel that Eleanor and Park is hugely underrated and needs to be on more peoples TBRs.
I love this book and highly recommend it.
Es mi libro favorito, todo es tan bonito y triste a la vez. Eleanor y Park te cautivan, no solo los personajes sino también su historia. Es conmovedora y magnífica.
