There are no words worthy enough for this book. M. Robinson has seriously outdone herself with this one.
Damien and Amira broke my heart in El Santo (book 1), like broke it through every ups and downs, every conflict that they faced, every enemy they faced and book 2 was no different. It surpassed everything before it.
El Pecador is an emotional rollercoaster that is hard to describe, I swear M. Robinson broke my heart several times, gave me heart attacks, literally made me stop breathing. She will shock you, excite you, break you before she makes you. I cannot say enough about this book without giving away spoilers and trust me, I am dying to talk about it. This is a MUST READ for everyone.
M. Robinson has a gift with words, she has an unparalleled talent of making you see what you are reading, feel what the characters are feeling and every other emotion in between. She is very gifted in making you feel so much pain, her books are so full of angst and all these differing emotions, you’ll be as confused and broken as these characters are.
Damien is one of the best, if not the best, anti-hero you will ever meet. He is complicated, broken, charming as hell, and absolutely enthralling. Amira is his perfect half, she is as strong as he is, standing beside him always.
Let’s not forget the twists and turns embedded in their story. This is a really crazy ride you will NOT want to miss.
Please, do yourself a favor and read El Santo and El Pecador.
I thought Martinez was it, but damn, Montero is unparalleled, by far.
I just finished this and I’m already dying to do a re-read..
WOW. I am speechless after finishing El Pecador. This book couldn’t have been more worth the wait! I can’t stress enough how much I highly recommend this book. The author has really out done herself with this story and duet conclusion! It was one more roller coaster ride! I couldn’t believe the plot twists in this book. You never saw them coming until they slapped you in the face. I could NOT put this book down. I flew through the pages like a women possed. This conclusion is seriously EVERYTHING and so much MORE! My heart is still trying to process all the feels and ANGST that was El Pecador. The suspense entranced you. I had so many jaw dropping OMG moments I couldn’t even begin to count them all. I never swooned so much one minute, then cried my eyes out the next. You WILL need lots of Kleenex and lots of alcohol to survive El Pecador. The author gives you absolutely no choice but to love the saint and the sinner that is Damien Montero. I definitely just finished one of my top reads of 2018!
I couldn’t get enough of Damien and Amara. They are one of my top favorite couples of this author’s. They are one of the most consuming characters I have read to date. You could feel their emotions pouring from each and every page you read. Damien and Amara was a perfectly spun web of heartache, hatred, and love. Any relationship that spans over 20 years is bound to be EXPLOSIVE and keep you on the edge of your seat. The lies, secrets, and passion wrapped around these characters enthralls you, making you beg for their story not to end. I seriously can NOT stress enough how much I LOVED every scandalous, heart gripping, emotion fueled page this couple had to offer me.
*5 STARS* well earned for a story that comes in with a bang, and ends owning your soul long after the pages end. I can’t wait for the next story this author is going to tell. With each book she sets the bar higher and higher, and manages to top them each and every time.
*I voluntarily read a advanced copy!*
MIND BLOWN!
This has been Monica’s best book yet! I don’t even know how to move on after what I read. I’m a jumbled mess and gushy inside with my face still swollen from all the crying from even the day before. I mean a book hangover is one thing, but Monica Robinson has taken that term to a whole other level. El Pecador is definitely a book that will stay with me for a very long time, in only all consuming Damien Montero fashion. This isn’t a book that you will read and get hit with the “emotional roller-coaster”. Nope, not Damien Montero. This book was written for one to experience wholeheartedly and take in these characters feeling like they were your own. You will feel their pain, their lust, their happiness, their anger and anguish, and most of all their intense love. Someone please send hard liquor, because wine just won’t cut it for this one. Monica has truly lived up to her name yet again as the Queen of Angst. The mindfkery that comes along with the Damien Montero experience is one that doesn’t hold back and pulls all the stops. Every messed up twist and turn will have you hooked in the best way turning page after page. Now back to reality to put back the mind blown by yet another M Robinson book.
El Pecador was perfectly written in dual POV with the most epic ending and even better epilogue. This book was definitely not what I expected at all, making the unexpected such a gratifying surprise. I can’t wait for Lost Boy and any other masterpiece Monica’s brain is cooking up. The main reason Monica has been and will always be one of my automatic 1click authors.
My love affair with Damien started in El Santo, and it just explored in El Pecador. M always brings her A game in all her books and this was no exception. The wait was worth it.
I love the sudden twist and turn and the complete 180 that is a stable of a M. Robinson book. And although I (and all the ladies who have read the books will agree) flove Damien, Amira was by far my favorite female to date. From her sweet and innocence in book one, to the brilliant, strong woman she became in book two was just exceptional. She went toe to toe with El Pecador and came out fight stronger.
And Damien, what can I say about him? His emotional upheavel turned me into an emotion mess.
M’s brilliant vision of all her characters and story lines has always kept me in awe, and I eagerly await to read more of her words!
This book – gaaaaah, this book.
The angst, the suspense, the romance, the surprises.
I could read it fast enough. I absolutely loved it.
(You must read El Santo first)
I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but just know you will be vocal while reading.
Sometimes it’s yelling at Damien, sometimes it’s a gasp and sometimes it might be a little crying, but just know in the end you’ll be shouting “thank you” to the author.
Fantastic !
M Robinson has once again given us an amazing story! El Pecador is the conclusion to Amira and Damien . Their tale is not a cookie cutter love. It is filled with destruction, turmoil, secrets, lies, and off the charts attraction . A love is born out of tragedy that spans many years and miles. . The twists and turns will have you screaming at the pages before you. This is not for the faint of heart get ready for a wild and crazy ride ! I absolutely loved it .
I am privileged to have been on this creative journey since the beginning and I can say without a doubt one of my favorites reads this year!!

A 5 star When I got this book I was so excited but also a little leery cause I knew I was going to be lost in this book for most of the day . I sat down and before I knew it I was half way through. Damien and Amira just invaded my space . I couldn’t put this book down . This book basically starts where the last one left off. I was so hoping that Damien would get his Amira back and that they would be happy . Well lets just say they went through hell and back .
Damien just broke my heart over and over . He is such a complex man , you see him at his best and at his worst . He rides two worlds and you know he is doing the wrong thing for the right reason . You get so invested in him and you either want to slap him or love up on him . He alone will rip out your heart a few times . Amira isn’t the girl that he left , she is strong and is a fighter . But there is also a secret or two that she is hiding . Man she is such a great strong woman . They do have their weakness also and that is each other . When they are together they are explosive . They know how to press each others buttons all the time . Not going to ruin it for you but the ending will melt your heart and make you smile .
This story gutted me quite a few times . The emotional roller coaster the author takes us on is unbelievable . Thinking at times I was safe reading the author side swiped me with a twist that you would never ever see coming . There is lots of angst and lots of fight but there is also lots of hot sex that could melt your kindle . The ending will make you cry for a different reason and there is a scene that will make you laugh so hard you will snort . Put a cork in it is all I am going to say . This book should be read after book one El Santo so you can understand everything that is going . I strongly recommend this book for anyone who loves angst and the trials of a good love story because yes this is a love story. This author just keeps getting better and better . I hope there is more of these characters , not ready to let them go just yet .
This book has wreaked havoc on my soul since the beginning. The ups and downs of it. By far, my favorite book. You can feel all their love. All their pain. All of it. The angst. The suspense. The hatred. The love. The heartbreak. Every ounce of it drips from the words M has written. We knew Damien wasn’t going to be easy. We knew it was going to be better than the others before it. That’s the beauty of her words. Each book sets the bar so high for the next one. I seriously can’t think of another person who writes the way she does, or who puts so much of themselves in every book. I know it’s hard on her, all the voices in her head. I don’t know how she does it. She blows my mind. Every. Time.
El Pecador is taking M to the next level.
He upped the anty.
ARE YOU READY?!
Can you handle it?
Handle him?
The one.
The only.
Damien Montero.
M. Robinson sure does know how to tell a compelling and riveting story. I was drawn in from page one of El Santo and felt like I did not take a breath until till the very last page of El Pecador. Both books blew my mind. Every emotion possible was pulled out of me, I cried, I giggled, I swooned, was definitely frustrated in some moments, and my heart broke at times, but overall enjoyed every moment of it. M. Robinson’s books are simply fantastic, there is NO author out there like her. It was one – Intense, Dark, Gritty, Emotional ride to go on.
Well we finally got the conclusion for Damian and Amira and what a freaking ride this was, it was crazy, once you think there can’t be anymore secrets or problems it all just keeps going.
We go through a bit with Damian at the beginning of this book and it takes him a long time to try and get his life in order but that man would always be tredding a thin line, there were times when i thought this is it he won’t survive and in true Damian style the guy will always bounce back.
Amira i didn’t expect her to be like she was when we get to meet her again she just comes in one page and just blows me away, she was tough and had really grown up and not in the way Damian wanted her too, so the back and forth between these two at times were funny then heartbreaking and then they got me all stabby.
This book had so much going on but it had me turning the pages quicker than i was reading because i needed to know how this book was going to end. This book had a great storyline, violence, it was steamy and oh so surprising.
If your a fan of m Robinson you won’t be disappointed and if you were like me 6 months ago and haven’t picked up her books you have to the angst the stories they are all amazing
El Santo (book 1), El Pecador is the conclusion of the story of Damien and Amira. M. Robinson once again takes her readers down an emotional rollercoaster full of unexpected twist and turns in this suspenseful romance.
Amira is back, along with Damien. They have a twisty romance, that is back and forth. Damien is the US District Attorney who has a huge spotlight on him with always being in the public eye. Damien is careful with whom to trust and whom not too. One of his guards, Bossman, is a scary guy who would do everything to protect his boss. Amira’s right hand man is Roman, who would do just about anything to protect her. Damien is jealous of Amira’s and Roman’s ‘relationship’. Even though nothing seems to be going on between the two, they are close, and Amira trust Roman with her life that is quite obvious.
The story of Damien and Amira was a bit long. The Author, Ms. M. Robinson does give us a story that was gritty and sexy with her own angsty personal touch. So if you are looking for an intense, suspenseful, passionate second chance romance then this duet may be the book for you.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
El Pecador is the second book in M. Robinson’s Saint-Sinner Series. You have to rad El Santo or your going to be extremely lost in this book
Good Holy gosh this book!!! It picks up right where El Santo leaves with Damien making it to the U.S. after leaving Amari in Cuba to save her life…especially from him. He has dreams of being the D.A. and you get to watch those dreams come true. And that is about all I can tell you about this book for fear of giving something away. This book is amazing but it will shock you, rip your heart out, and rock you to your very core. I am so into these characters that it was like I was right there with them. So, I am sure you can guess I had a huge freak out in this book. You can ask Stephanie just exactly how dramatic my snapchat at midnight last night was. I was losing my mind. And just when you think your going to lose it your put back together again only to have it all ripped out from under you again. It was so nice too to see characters from previous books in this on. Creed and his brother Noah, Martinez (who by the way still owns my heart). This book is a thrill ride from the beginning to end and an absolutely action packed soul searching love story that you just have to experience on your very own. Once again. M. Robinson has blown my mind, possibly caused me to about lose my mind, made my kindle hit the ground (yes I actually threw the darn thing down not caring if it cracked or not) But most of all it is a beautiful love story of two people who were meant to begin from the second that they laid eyes on each other. This is a must read right along with El Santo. Don’t forget you have to read it first. It is so worth the journey but I am sitting here still reeling from certain events.
*4-4,5 stars*
This book was definitely one of the most anticipated reads for me this year after finishing El Santo and that ending was something unforgettable that got me dying to read this one. It’s the epic conclusion to the duet series and you surely don’t want to miss it! It answers all the questions you had from the first one and finally gets you to a point where you can’t help but feel the love between Damien and Amira. I have to say, without giving much away, there were some things I never saw coming; I didn’t expect it a mile away. That’s just genius from M. Robinson! I really liked the second book however I loved El Santo more. Nonetheless this is a must read and it shows the wicked brain of this author yet again!
Damien has left Cuba to find his way to the top in the States and does whatever he can to put Amira not only out of his mind but also out of his heart. But whatever he tries to do, it doesn’t work. With every year that goes by, he tries to just take it day by day. But one encounter will change everything and his past and present will collide in a way he never thought was possible. Will he ever see Amira again? And will the secrets that will soon be revealed take them down forever?…
I don’t even know where to begin…
After finishing El Santo I was on pins & needles waiting for El Pecador to be released, I was dying to read Damien and Amira’s conclusion. Well let me say that the ride M. Robinson takes us on is an absolute emotional rollercoaster. I was full on crying at one point!! Heart ripped out, shredded…
Damien and Amira’s story is one full of battles and unrelenting love. Hands down one of the best stories I’ve ever read. I’d give this 10 If it was an option!
I couldn’t wait for this book to see what was going to happen between Damien and Amira especially after the way the first book ended! We pick up right where we left off and it was intense! This story took me on such an emotional rollercoaster. We had so many twists and turns and my jaw literally dropped as I read.
Damien and Amira are hands down my favorite book couple from this author. They are passionate, stubborn, loyal and flawed. So many times while reading I wanted to reach in and hug them both. I’m trying to keep my review spoiler free but there was scene in the book that broke my heart as I read. After that I had to stop reading and collect myself before I continued.
I have read several books by M. Robinson and she put her whole soul into writing this story. It was so worth the wait and in my opinion one of her best books ever!! This was an intense, heartbreaking, heartwarming story that will stay with me for a long, long time!
Once again M. Robinson delivers a tumultuous ride in the follow up to El Santo. Her usual style of delivering an almighty punch to the gut when secrets are spilled was out in force for this part.
The power struggle between Damien & Ameria was electric, consuming and forceful. Delving into the underground world of drug lords, Cartels and bar knuckle fighting we get to see the Damien we know and love. A World he excelled in under the rule of Emilio Salazar. Leading a double life of Saint vs Sinner, Damien is on the path to Hell whilst trying to reconnect with the only woman he has ever loved. This part was dark, raw and brutal. I loved every single word. Ameira was the perfect woman to keep Damien in line, she was strong willed, determined and stubborn. Exactly what he needed.
Told from a dual POV, the book is fast paced and explosive and a great lead in to the next book… as always ending on a cliffhanger!
Wow! Speechless! Yep. Definitely a M. Robinson book! The Queen of Angst sends us on an emotional journey that touches your heart and soul and then rips it out only to mend it back. The twists and turns hidden away in every corner that reach out and punch you in the gut when you least expect it. The steamy sex scenes that will set your kindle on fire. You feel the deep emotions of her characters.
Saint/Sinner Duet is definitely a must read! El Santo flows beautifully into El Pecador which is a more intense and dark. Another brilliant masterpiece!!
A MUST FUCKING READ
What a finale to this angsty and hot as sin duet.
El Santo left us heartbroken and starving for more of Damien and wishing and hoping his an Amira’s love story wasn’t over… El Pecador picks up right where El Santo left off and let me tell you all AAAAAHHHHHHHHH I have not felt this amount of emotions in a bit. I was frustrated, I was angry, I was hurt. I loved Damien but for the love of fuck! The man did make EVERYTHING at least 20x more difficult all in the name of love and what he thought was “the right thing”. Many times I wanted to junk punch him.
Giselle, I didn’t really care for her, she was annoying, conniving and childish.
Amira, Amira, Amira boy did she blow my mind away. She was NOTHING I was expecting. If you read El Santo (which you really should have) you’d know she was fiery and sweet. In this book, she was hell in Louboutins. She was everything a strong female should be. She gave as good, if not better than she got. And didn’t let anyone push her around.
As always M Robinson managed to break my heart and shed more than a few tears.
The story was well written and executed. I cannot wait for Noah’s book, after catching a glimpse of him here, that boy was hiding many things.
El Pecador was an A..MA..ZING story! What a great read! This book was so full of suspense, angst, frustration…I am not going to lie, I wanted to throw my kindle a few times. Loved that cover but then again, I love any of Monica’s books! She is one of the authors I always one click!
The characters were perfect! Damien and Amira are the most perfect characters that are made for one another. Damien…hmmm…what to say…I love how hot and bullheaded he is. And Amira, I love her personality and how it is all over the place; it makes the story more challenging. The chemistry has been there since day one.
I don’t want to say too much as I don’t want to give anything away about the story. M. Robinson’s stories are always so unique. She really knows how to write great angst, love, hate and keeps you on the edge of your seat from page one until the very last page.
This was a fast read although there was a very short part that drags a bit but it didn’t take long for it to pick back up. El Pecador was written in dual POV. I love reading both Damien and Amira’s side of the story. I have read many books by M. Robinson and have loved each and every one of them. This is the second book in the El Santo series. I, for one, cannot wait to read more by M. Robinson. I highly recommend any of her books.
What an emotional ride with El Pecador.. i really didn’t see all that coming.. if you thought you new what was coming in the second book of the story of Damien and Amira, well you are completely wrong.. whenever i thought i knew, what was going to happened, M.Robinson prove me wrong.. nothing was what i expected and it was so good and so surreal..
This book was a very pleasant surprise.. so many twist and turns that are going to blow your mind..
The story of Damien and Amira continues.. Damien still a strong, powerful, controlling man trying to bring peace to his aching heart.. nothing seems to make him happy anymore. its seems like he is just dragging his feet in this life because nothing makes him feel alive…. now he is working for the US in a very powerful position that is bringing him so much more connections and money that he ever dreamt about .. but still he feels so empty and lost without her in this new life, in this new world..
“Baby, you’re my punishment and my redemption. I’ve spent the last thirteen years lost without you. The only places I’ve traveled to were the cities you wanted to see.”
Amira has disappeared from the earth, nobody knows where she is or where Mama Rosa is.. what happened to them?, what happened to her?.. so many years has passed and Damien feels like he has lost Amira forever.. but nothing had prepare them for “that” night.. after more than 13 years of not seeing eache other, everything come crashing between bullets and blood..
“I’m a part of you, baby, and I’m not going anywhere. Mark my words, Amira. It’s only a matter of time until I make you mine again, and no one can stop me. Not even you.”
The reunion between Damien and Amira was far what any one would’ve expected.. their feelings and emotions came crashing all at once.. the passion, the need for control both wanted to be the first, both wanted to be on top.. she didn’t want to show any weakness, she wanted to show her claws and she wasn’t ready to put them out..
“Amira was the love of my life. The purpose of my existence. My torment and my goddamn comfort.”
They fight, they struggle, she doesnt want to given in, she is not ready to let him in again, so many hurt and pain she has endure, she doesn’t want this anymore but love can break any resolution, love and him are more powerful than any wall or resentment she still has… This time the roles had change, he will have to work hard to get her back, to ask for forgiveness, to make her his again.. or to remind her whom does she belong..
“You were the reason I… woke up every day… the idea of us together… kept me going… you kept me alive… through… Salazar… Cuba… America… me… it was always… you… the love of my life… my purpose… my strength… my heart and soul… it’s always been you…”
The love between Damien and Amira is Breathtaking and Beautiful.. in El Santo we saw and felt how everything started so innocent and slowly until they couldn’t denied their feelings any more.. but this time, 14 years later. their love still strong, stronger than ever, fighting to reunite with the other half of it soul… and no one will ever come between them because this time.. there is so much more .. a life, a hope, someone who will bring them to their knees and make them see how beautiful they’re together….. nothing can destroy this love.. not even them.. Damien or Amira…
“They were two soul mates who were destined to be together forever, so she made them constellations so they would be.”
and Once she realize who does she belong to.. everything will be finally complete…
“I love you, Damien! Do you hear me?! I fucking love you with everything inside of me! I never stopped loving you, thinking of you, praying that you would find me! Knowing we would one day be together again! I love you with every fiber of my being, with every beat of my heart, with every last piece of me… it’s yours. It’s always been yours… I’m yours! I’ve always been yours!”
and once he realize she really love him everything will change…
“You’ve loved me your entire life. I’m embedded in your skin. I’m flowing in your blood. I’m beating in your heart.”
So many great secondary characters in this amazing story… Mama Rosa, Damiens Father, Giselle, Mason, Andromeda, Creed, Noah, Roman, Vlad… all of them bring so much to El Pecador .. Specially Mama Rosa, she was an angel, love how much she care about Damien, how she treated him like his own son, how she welcome Amira into her home without questions and hesitations.. she was a strong pillar in their lives.. Damiens Father was also another great character and a very valuable person in their lives..
So many great things to say about this book.. about M.Robinsons writing.. I had a hard time in a few chapters.. specially almost at the end.. I was literally screaming at my kindle around 90% the characters where fighting and i keep thinking there was a book three lol.. so expect the angst till the END and i’m not even joking..
I really enjoy El Pecador, what an amazing story, looking forward to read more books by M.Robinson..
