Anytime K Webster announces a new book is coming I get all kinds of excited *Queue the ‘Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy’ song* I don’t care what genre she’s offering up, I. Want. But, I have to admit that I’m partial to her more dark offerings and El Malo did not disappoint! It had the perfect mix of dark, bloody, smexy, swoony and crazy to it that made it extremely difficult to put down!
Javier is EVERYTHING. He is all kinds of delicious, dark, psychopathic alpha AF male and he has a heart, it may be more black than anything else, but it’s there, and all of that just makes him utterly delicious in every way. Rosa…I liked her, well, one side of her, the other side drove me batshit crazy for the majority of the book. I loved the strong, sassy, take charge Rosa, the other Rosa…ehh, but I had Javi so… But regardless of which way I felt, she was entertaining. As for their romance…it’s funny because it was a romance, the swoons were real and the smexy was panty melting, but that Sword of Damocles was always ready to drop and I loved the way it all played out in the end.
It’s obvious I’m a fangirl, so I don’t need to verbal vomit about my love anymore than I have. What I will say is that this is a dark romance and if you have read any of the authors darker reads, you know what to expect. If you haven’t, things get quite bloody and graphic in more ways than one, so prepare yourselves. As for the secondary characters, I wouldn’t have a problem getting to know Arturo or Marco Antonio lots better in the future…*BSEG* just sayin’. But if you like dark mafia romance, then this is a must read!

K Webster is back and with another SINFUL read! El Malo had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Rosa finds herself falling for a man she despises, an Estrada. Javier Estrada rules Mexico. He is feared and respected by everyone with a pulse but his house maid is starting to get under his skin and he’s about to take full advantage of her services.
As usual El Malo was SMUTTY! Javier is totally sexy and will have you feeling on FIRE!!!!!!!! Rosa and Javier had crazy chemistry, he was obsessed with everything that had to do with Rosa. It was intense.
I will say some parts were a little unrealistic, I know its fiction but some of the actions of the characters just didnt make sense. It didnt take away from the story though. I still thoroughly enjoyed it!
K Webster you’ve done it again, I don’t know what goes on in that twisted mind of yours, but for the love of everything dark PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not ever stop writing.
You have blew me away AGAIN, I LOVED EL MALO, Javier ‘mmmmmmmmmmmmmmine’
is one sexy ruthless bad ass M/F
I had to wait this as their were others in my TBR pile like always, but once picked up I Couldn’t put it down and equally I didn’t want to rush it, as I am a very quick reader I wanted to wallow and savor everything that was Javier
Our leading lady Rosa was a stunning Fierce woman to take on the El Malo and so determined ubtil her heart speaks up, and eventually stolen by the ruthless El Malo boss, swept off her feet as she battles her self and her goal to destroy them, Her life and heart are on the line so the results are going to be explosive Boom, I loved every word Becoming a Cartel Queen is most definitely not
for the weak and Rosa is strong enough and brave enough to Stand side by side with her King Javier
A Cartel mafia romance with the dark stinking underbelly of the underground of the wicked and nasty their is a lot of steam (PHEW). I’ve read several books by this author, with MY TORIN still standing as one of the best books I’ve read this year. There was no way IN HELL I Would resist a K Webster book especially with a mafia hero in it. One of my favorite genre’s
I always go into any book that describes itself as ‘dark’ with an open mind, hands clenched because all though I love them they also scare the pants off me, make me cringe cry, shout out, but as always it depends on the level of dark, in this book I wouldn’t say dark was more of a mid-grey, most of it is no worse than any other gritty mafia romance. it is a well written and enjoyable story with plenty of peril and suspense to add to the mix.
Rosa witnessed her mother’s murder by a Mexican cartel, innocent bystanders in the wrong place at the wrong time. She decides to dedicate her life to bringing THEM DOWN so is working undercover to achieve this. A series of events brings her to the eye of her boss, and mafia jefe, Javier Estrada. Soon Rosa is spiraling down into a rabbit hole of lust and deceit that can only end in one of their deaths.
I really enjoyed this story. It would have been a 5 star read like nearly every book K Webster has written, ‘BUT’ for a few little niggles I couldn’t believe in Rosa, I could understand her wanting to bring to justice the men involved in her mother’s murder, or the cartels as a whole. She had dedicated her whole life to it, she even had watched him in his role as the big bad cartel boss in action, had to clean up after many of his punishments were doled out, yet one dimpled smile from the bad guy and she was dropping her knickers as fast as rain falling in a down pour. For such a strong female role she became this weakling doormat with Michael, with no self-respect. one scene in particular after she new he had just had sex with a prostitute she still believed the lies errrr she seen the evidence her self.
Once she became close to Javier I felt that she improved. The chemistry between the pair was off the charts and be prepared for some very steamy, exhibitionist scenes. Personally I also hated how happily Rosa took drugs. For me it really didn’t fit with the girl she was meant to be. I would have liked to have seen her inner turmoil and unwillingness even if she took them in order to ‘fit in’ and not raise suspicion etc.
If not for these niggling comments it would have been 5 stars all the way
Usually K. Webster can do no wrong. Not every book is for every person though and this one was a tough one for me to get through. I love dark stories. I love super taboo romance. This was more along the lines of horror. Yes I get that we had cartel action and El Malo are NOT the good guys by any stretch of the imagination. K. did what she does best though…she writes evocatively, in great detail about the actions of these bad men. Not a story to read (or listen to) if you are squeamish because, when I say GREAT detail, I mean that. She brings the steam as always so that was not lacking in the story at all. While I was thrown by the macabre of this story, I had to admit it was amazingly well written and thought provoking.
El Malo sucked me in right from the beginning. It’s a fantastic love story with lots of gore, guts and spice. Javier Estrada is an alpha male evil personified badass with a romantic side. I completely loved him.
Omg. El Malo was everything I didn’t know I was missing in my life. I loved everything about it. The characters owned me. The plot was fast-paced and kept me glued to my Kindle. I can’t believe I waited so long to read this book.
4.5 stars
Wow… this book was pretty crazy!!! It had a lot going on! And I loved it! It had the right amount of everything! I love K. Webster’s dark & twisted reads.
Rosa and Javier were pretty explosive together. She certainly tamed the beast in a certain way. And I loved how Javier went all in with Rosa. Even though he knew she was hiding something from him.
“You can’t hide from me now,” he says with a grin, his dimple making an appearance. “You’re in my lair now and I’m starved.”
Something bad happened to Rosa as a kid and it shaped her to the person she is today. She applied herself in school and worked hard and got into the CIA. Her main mission was to take down all cartels. She was undercover for years as a maid for Javier the leader of the El Malo cartel. Feeing information to her superior every week….When things started to go south.
An incident happened to her on her way back to Javier’s house. That’s when things start to move along between Rosa and Javier. He’s been wanting her for a long time but never wanted to cross the line with her.
Javier took a big interest in Rosa. I felt he took the leap with her. Jumping with both feet. He took her to nice places but also showed her the ugly side of what he did.
“Being with Javier is like being with a prince. A dark, fucked up prince, but still a prince.”
She tries fighting her attraction for him. Having feelings for him went against everything she believed in. She was in a constant battle with herself about falling for him.
“No one will protect you. I’m going to take you and use you and own you. Mine, mami.”
She was also constantly worried that he would find out about her secret she was hiding. Everyday she thought is today the day he will find out. But once they would kiss and do things together. Everything faded away to the background.
“Nothing exists outside his bedroom door. We’re lovers on the fast track for more. He’s not king of the cartel. I’m not with the CIA.”
There was a lot going on in this book but in the end Javier show and proved just how much he loved Rosa.
“I’m lost, so lost, but he keeps finding me. Over and over again.”
This was a good read! It had me going! I really enjoyed reading this story! And I’m hoping we get another story from one of the secondary characters from this book!

Exactly the kind of darkness that I need to read right now. K Webster books never let me down and this cartel/mafia story was no different.

GAH!!!! If I’ve learned anything in the last 6 months, it’s that it is impossible for Author K Webster to write a book I don’t fall in love with. For me, her darkest of dark stories are her very best reads!!!
El Malo was brilliantly written and jam packed with all sorts of bad-assery (is that even a word?) and delivered all the deliciously dark goods. In a word, El Malo is UNPUTDOWNABLE!!!
The swoony yet very dangerous anti-hero, Javier, who stole my heart with his take charge, total mafia alpha male, caveman bad-assness who you NEVER want to mess with and who also scared the crap out of me. He doles out punishments with a calmness that is both mesmerizing and terrifying. From the bottom of my dark and disturbed heart I swear I couldn’t have loved him more.
The beautifully strong yet vulnerable heroine, undercover CIA agent Rosa, who is hell bent on meting out vengeance on those who took everything from her life as a child. A mission she is determined to see through no matter the cost, even if it costs her her life. Lordy, I just adored her so much.
Then there’s the smarmy villain, Michael who always managed to make my skin crawl and my hackles rise, yet a villain who I just loved to hate.
What I loved so much about this story is the contradictions to the main characters. A powerfully dangerous, extremely violent and scary hero that covets, cherishes and is fiercely protective of Rosa. A determined yet very vulnerable and at times naïve heroine who, as it turns out is anything but that and is not afraid to face danger and exact revenge on those who’ve wronged her.
This book is a never-ending thrill ride filled with lies, betrayal, secrets, suspense, danger, twists, turns, raw gritty and intense bloody violence that is so shocking at times, but necessary to make this story believable. There are twists and turns you won’t see coming and an ending that will blow you away.
From the very first heartbreaking chapter, to the very satisfying and shocking ending, El Malo kept me sitting on the edge of my seat, the edge of danger and the edge of darkness. I highly recommend this electrifying, edgy and exciting story.
El Malo left me satisfied, sated and so sad that it ended. I give this bad-ass read 5 big fat juicy stars!
El Malo, Javier and Rosa’s story blew me away!! The characters, the story everything was perfect to make this book a must read!
Rosa a beautiful woman working as a maid for the most Dangerous man in the country, she has an agenda that no one knows or see it coming. Her plan, her vengeance, a past that keeps hunting her and is trying to finally put it to rest.. not before she finally gets what she wants, to ruin him and anyone who represents what stole the most precious “thing” in her life..
“didn’t realize what a ghost I’d become. I was hell-bent on seeking vengeance for what happened to my mother that I didn’t care it came at the expense of my happiness.”
Javier is ruthless, mad and dangerous, no one does anything behind his back, everybody knows not to cross him or even see him in the eye, but she doesn’t care how dangerous he is, she was made for him and he was made for her.. only time will show them that no past or resentment, no lies or truths will ever stop destiny to complete what was already written.
“Eres mía,” I growl against her cold lips as I push into her tight heat. “Do you hear me, manzanita? You’re mine.”
El Malo keeps you super hooked and intrigued since the very first chapters of the book. Rosa is a very strong heroine, she fights for what she wants, making her a worthy match for Javi. Javier has a very enigmatic side that keeps dragging Rosa to the dark side. the chemistry of Javier and Rosa is instant, they can’t hide it or even deny it.. both know they belong together, now is time for them to finally lowers their walls and accept their feelings..
“The moment I caught a glimpse of her walking by in that dress, I knew it was for me. I’d stood and followed her right out of the house, knowing that every asshole in Acapulco would want a piece of my hot fucking maid in her little yellow dress. And I needed every single one of them to know it was my dress. My maid. Mine.”
she craves danger, he loves to feed her on it, together they are an explosive combination ready to combust.
“Danger makes you come. It’s as though we were made for each other. The angel who only gets wet for the devil.”
Another amazing story by K.Webster. I can’t stop reading her stories..
I have a supreme love affair with K Webster. She’s got a bit of a twisted mind that I totally dig. El Malo is a new-ish genre for me. Mexican Mafia. Honestly, it felt like I was watching Breaking Bad all over again…which is 100% awesome (minus the lung cancer!). I fell for Javi and his obsession with Rosa, just as much as I feared him. A great combo of dark, gritty smut with a hint of suspense.
If you take a bottle of sexual tension, and a bottle of passion, mix them together and then shake them all up. Then you have El Malo.
Javier is the leader of a Mexican drug cartel, and Rosa is his maid. A maid with a grudge that she’s been just waiting to get her vengeance for. Let’s just say things don’t go quite how she envisioned.
El Male is sexy, fun, bloody, violent, and it kept me on edge until the very end, because I honestly wasn’t sure HOW it would end.
Another quick but FANTASTIC story from K Webster!
What happens when you touch Javier Estrada’s girl?
You die…….
Step back ladies I have found my new Papi!! Javier Estrada is one badass mofo with torture techniques to die for! ←- (see what I did there). His dangerous persona will have women wet for him all throughout the indie world!
El Malo is deadly dramatic and rousingly erotic! Webster brings a formidable Mexican Cartel King to her forte of droolworthy alpha anti-heroes. Javier falls for his maid, Rosa. Rosa Delgado is driven with revenge for those alike who have wronged her. She does her job well and her boss makes it even easier when he starts to pay an interest in her. What will happen if he finds out her secrets before she can extract her retribution? A smart criminal would kill her, will he?
4.5* Baddie Stars
Looking for a hot, sexy read between a CIA agent and a Mexican mobster? Then you have the right book.
Rosa is out for revenge. After her mother was killed years ago by some Mexican mobsters, Rosa set out to get revenge. She might not be able to get the mobsters that killed her mom, but she can go after on of the most dangerous men in Mexico, Javier Estrada.
Javier runs his town. People fear him and he wouldn’t have it any other way. For four years, his housekeeper Rosa has kept his house in perfect condition. But something has changed. For some reason, he is now seeing Rosa in a different way.
What happens when lines get crossed? Can Rosa remember why she is there? What happens when the people Rosa thought she could trust turn on her? Will Javier find out the truth?
This was a sexy read. But like most K. Webster books, this book is a dark romance and is not recommended for those with triggers!!!!!
If you can look past those triggers though, you will find a book full of sex, lies, blood, and sex.
LOVED IT!!!
I was totally not expecting things to go the way they did. I love that when I got to the end, I didn’t know everything and I was started by the characters’ choices.
I’m definitely a fan of unconventional romances, and this one caught my eye. As I was reading, I found that I was intrigued by not only the main characters, but the supporting ones as well. In the space of just one story, I was pulled into a world that seems to have more stories left to tell.
Not the conventional romance, but I enjoyed all the twists and tuns and seeing love in a world where love sometimes does not exist.
UPDATED (Nov 22, 2018)
To say I am listening El Malo in audible and it’s absolutely fantastic . Love it! Listening to Javier and Rosa voices is EVERYTHING!

Sizzling and red hot read
El Malo is a satisfying , passionate and blistering story about a baddie… a sinful hot , ruthless , diabolical and charming Mexican Cartel Drug Lord Javier Estrada and a fiery, spirited , gorgeous , addicted to danger, undercover CIA agent posing, as his maid Rosa Delgado.
I enjoyed reading this sexy, dark , bloody and brisk pace tale. It has plenty of WTF situations, twist and turns to keep you guessing and engaged. The chemistry between Javier and Rosa is intense and hot.
As for the Spanish elements of the story; the terms of endearments , feeling behind it and translation was spot on .
This a good and a fast read. You’ll always be entertained when you read a K Webster book.

There is a new bad boy in K. Webster’s universe…and what a monster is he is Javier Estrada, leader of El Malo, is the epitome of the devil…he is evil but oh so charming, handsome and knows how to make someone relish sin, to want to be evil, to want to be the queen of darkness and embrace it. Rosa is a maid in his household, she does what she is told and does a damn fine job. But holy hell, she is soooo much more! When you read this story you will see what I mean . K. knows how to grab her readers by the throat from the first page of her stories and doesn’t let go until she is ready. She weaves a story full of passion, lust, love. Being the queen of darkness herself, she also knows how to weave a story of horror, pain and unmistakable evil. Which I for one love! Javier and Rosa’s relationship isn’t warm and fuzzy, it’s not hearts and flowers, but damn if it isn’t beautifully theirs and it is perfect for them! There are twists and some surprises in this story, which is classic K. I get absolutely giddy when I crack open a book by K. because I know I am gonna be in for a hell of a ride. She has yet to disappoint me with her words. I have faithfully stalked her for years and will continue to do so! El Malo is a page turner, it’s a beautiful disaster, it’s another fabulous story from the mind of K. Webster.
Wow, just wow…..and a whole slew of words that Amazon WONT let me write!!!! Tears at this….the heat, omg so hot just thought I would DIE! And the ending…perfection…The playlist is BEYOND, especially Him & I….I freaking loved this Mexican mafia dirty twisty fairytale. THIS was everything

A woman set on revenge and “The Baddie” for whom she may give up everything, including her life.
A mafia romance with a dark underbelly and a lot of steam. I’ve read several books by this author, with My Torin still standing out as one of the best books I’ve read this year. There was no way I could resist a K Webster book with a mafia hero in it.
I go into any book that describes itself as ‘dark’ with an open mind. The level of dark in this, for me, was more of a mid-grey, most of it is no worse than any other gritty mafia romance. There is ONE brief non-con scene involving a main character. Virtually all the other ‘dark’ stuff happens to sleazy bad guys with whom I felt no connection and for me this lessens the impact of the darkness. Despite this not feeling as dark as similar books (Imperfect Monster by Jennifer Bene being one example) it IS still a really well written and enjoyable story with plenty of peril and suspense to add to the mix.
Rosa witnesses her mother’s murder by a mexican cartel, innocent bystanders in the wrong place at the wrong time. She decides to dedicate her life to bringing down similar men and is working undercover to do so. A series of events brings her to the eye of her boss, and mafia jefe, Javier Estrada. Soon Rosa is spiralling down into a rabbit hole of lust and deceit that can only end in one of their deaths.
Overall I really enjoyed this story. It could have been a 5 star read BUT for a few issues that I will address now. I didn’t 100% believe in Rosa, I could understand her wanting to bring to justice the men involved in her mother’s murder, or the cartels as a whole. She had dedicated her whole life to it, but one dimple from the bad guy and she was shedding her panties like a Christmas tree sheds its needles. I also didn’t like how weak she was with Michael, it made her appear to have no self-respect. Perhaps it was meant to portray her disturbed psychological state but instead she just came across as desperate. Also just how well trained was Rosa? No updates on how the case was progressing? No instructions or plans being made? I heard warning bells during her first “conversation” (aka quick shag and dismissal) with Michael that something was wrong but Rosa had no such issues.
Once Rosa became close to Javier I felt that her character improved and she appeared to be far less naive and gullible.
I did buy into the majority of the story, despite how negative the above seems. I virtually read the book in one sitting with no skimming of pages. The plot is gripping, with quite the unexpected twist upon twist at the end. I felt the connection between Javier and Rosa and firmly believed in their chemistry. Whilst at times, to me, their love seemed less love and more obsession, it fitted the darker aspect of the story well.
The contents and general feel of this book make it only suitable for 18+ years. It’s quite a good book if your new to the dark genre of if you don’t like your romance too dark. If you love a good mafia romance/romantic suspense and don’t mind it being quite gritty then I’d also recommend this to you. It’s also pretty much guaranteed that if you are already a K Webster fan that you’ll love this book.
Rosa was a bad ass leading lady it was cool to see her plot out her revenge. No spoilers in this review this book definitely kept me up late to finish the story. Great sexy scene I can never go wrong with a K. Webster book.
