Brilliant! Phenomenal! El Diablo does not disappoint. You will love and hate Alejandro Martinez. He is truly the the Devil, such a sexy, alpha and dominating a**hole. Living up to her name, “Queen of Angst”, M. Robinson will torture you, destroy you, and give you hope. This story will obliterate your heart, to mend it and stomp on it all over again. This story will make your heart beat a mile a minute, as you’re sitting on the edge of your seat in suspense. Once you start you WILL NOT be able to put it down. Hang on for the best emotional roller coaster ride Author M. Robinson has written to date.
One of the very best books I have read in a very long time. It keeps you interested and wondering what is going to happen next. It made me laugh, it made me cry (it’s been quite a while since a book has done that).
Whilst this book is a stand alone it did help that I had read the other books in The Good Ol’ Boys series. Having been introduced to Martinez in Crave Me; I was desperate to learn more about the man behind the expensive suits, the one they called El Diablo.
Crave Me finished on a cliff hanger… who was holding the gun that shot Martinez. We have to wait the whole book to find out.
Like all the other books in this series, I loved it from the very first page. This book goes back in time to when Alejandro Martinez was a teenager being groomed to take over from his dad; a crime boss and drug lord. It tells of the ruthless man he turned in to, the horrors he was subjected to on his route to be the next Big Man. He never really stood a chance to have a normal life. He never had the option of walking away.
Lexi has also had sad and traumatic life her emotionally absent mother and her step father who walked out on her at a young age leaves Lexi to be put into foster care. Her dream is to be a top ballet dancer and after winning a prestigious place at a top ballet school bumps into Martinez whilst trying to find work as a stripper to support herself. They are instantly attracted to each other but Martinez continues to push her away not wanting to bring her in to his world of crime for her own safety.
For the most part of this book we get to see the cold hearted, ruthless man with the soulless black eyes. He was the anti hero I found myself falling in love with.
This book had it’s usual angst that we’ve come to expect from M Robinson. Once again taking us on a roller coaster road of emotions building us up and breaking us down. For the most part this book was smouldering, there was definitely a big secret to be revealed but it took most of the book to get there. There were times when the plot didn’t really progress, however, once the secrets started to be revealed then there were twists and turns galore as one secret after another was revealed, most of them I never saw coming. I thought I had it figured out early on but nothing could prepare me for the truth. I was left open mouthed. Utterly brilliant and very well thought out.
I absolutely loved this book and I am looking forward to reading Creed when it is released later on this year having first had a small introduction to him at a christening. This really is a series that will stay with me.
Love love love this book!!! Draws you in very easily and keeps you.
El Diablo gets five + stars without a doubt! Excellent story! Great story line and flowed perfectly! This book has so many feels..It had me crying, laughing and on the edge of my seat from beginning to end!! I love a good story with so many feelings! These characters were just perfect! Martinez is HOT but has that mean side.
Alejandro Martinez was always the bad boy..known as El Diablo (The Devil). In his early years his father brought him into his heir. Martinez just had the knack for it. He was a bad boy all the way around. Martinez was worth more dead than alive. Lexi was always a good girl that had a rough life and a hard time trying to move on. Then she met Martinez and could not fight her feelings. Except there are secrets from Alejandro, when Lexi finds out these deep, dark secrets will her love for him be enough for them?
El Diablo is a spin off of “The Good Ol’ Boys series. But can be read as a Standalone. I definitely recommend this book! I already have to a couple of people and just finished it. I cannot wait to read book 2 of The Good Ol’ Boys Spin Off.
M. Robinson has once again delivered a jaw dropping powerful story that will rip your heart out but leave you wanting more.
We were graced with the pleasure of meeting Alejandro Martinez in Crave Me. Introduced as Brigg’s Uncle he is bestowed the task of caring for her after a tragic accident claims her family. He never promises to be a good man but you do learn quickly that he does protect what is his, although he does use any means that he deems necessary to reach that goal. Alejandro a.k.a El Diablo as he is know by his constituents is feared by all that surround him. He was born and breed by his father to be the infamous leader he is known as today. He never felt he was given the choice of who or what he has become it was just expected of him. Alejandro is well aware that he carries the title of being ruthless and a loner. He is determined to not show love or affection. That is associated with weakness and puts the people that he bestows that upon in immediate danger. He is always operating from a distance, lurking in the shadows and knowing everything that is going on around him in his world.
Lexie is a beautiful young talented dancer that was dealt a shitty hand . Raised by a mother stricken with chronic depression and endless self- medicating she never leaves the home. Lexie learns at a young age that she can depend on one person …..herself. She develops intricate coping mechanisms to help her deal with the heart break and pain that surrounds her. Her only outlet is dancing …she loves it , she thrives at it and it makes her complete. Unfortunately her world takes an unexpected turn and she is left shattered and broken. She is subjected to extreme heartbreak and torment. Dancing becomes her lifeline, her escape from reality. Lexie’s life intersects with Alejandro’s world while she is still a young girl …..but she never forgets the way she felt the first time they met or the unmistakable pull that he had on her.
The two of them once again met many years later under desperate circumstances and you soon realize that fate has weaved their lives together in the most horrific demented way. Lexie knows that man before her is cruel and broken but she feels that she can fix him. Even the Devil himself was once an Angel.
Their love will be the destruction and demise of both of them.
I absolutely loved the over the top angst, gritty reality , raw sexual power and intricate story ! I could not put this book down even after it ripped my heart out and left me emotionally raw. It was fresh, new , surprising , sensual, loving and evil all at the same time!
Standing , Clapping and Crying all at the same time !!!
I was gifted a copy as a beta reader for an honest review!

I first met Alejandro Martinez when I started reading Crave Me by M. Robinson. He was introduced as Briggs’ uncle, though she has no recollection of him so we barely know much about him besides the fact that he is El Diablo- known, respected and feared throughout.
He was a tough one to crack. Unknown and unpredictable most times. Even though we only saw tidbits of him from that book, what little we see is interesting. It makes you curious, but hey, remember, Curiosity killed the cat…
El Diablo, a spin-off from the Good Ol’ Boys series, is his story.
The story starts off when Alejandro is just a young boy (in his teens). The violence that will surround his very being is non-existent at this time. In fact, most of the time, he’s just like every other boy, with an unhealthy fear of his own father (because we all know who his father is). He hasn’t been exposed to who or what his father is in the crime world and so he’s oblivious to this, not knowing that in a couple of years, violence is all he’ll ever know or understand.
One event in particular rips the blankets off his eyes for the very first time and shows him a glimpse of the world his father lives in. Now, I don’t want to go into particulars because I don’t want to spoil this for you but, let’s just say that the events of that night started the path that’ll lead him to becoming a Martinez.
His life from the time he turns 15 is full of tragedy, to say the least. All these scenarios and events mold him into who he finally becomes. The fact is that everything in his life has always been leading to him being El Diablo, and I love that he accepts this. He’s not a bad man, he’s just making the best of what fate dishes his way
“Even the Devil was an angel once, Alejandro. It’s only a matter of time until you become El Diablo, too.”
Lexi is his other half. I loved her! She’s a spitfire (I wish to be like her…lol). I wouldn’t say she’s not afraid, but she’s definitely courageous. She stands up to Martinez when men quake in their shoes just hearing his name. She is his equal in every way, the perfect woman to handle his different layers, because really, if there ever was a definition for complex, Alejandro Martinez would be it.
Just like Martinez, Lexi didn’t grow up in a stellar environment. An inattentive mother didn’t help things and because of this, she found solace in dance. She is a ballerina through and through. Though she started off rough, she still kept that light in her, aiming high for her dreams.
“Music and dance were my peace. They made me feel whole.”
I like to think their meeting was inevitable instead of chance. Their chemistry was off the charts hot, jumping out of the pages…
The twists and turns in this story are so unpredictable, M. Robinson definitely keeps you on your toes. I cried for them, I laughed with them, and whooooh *fanning myself*, I felt hot with them… M. Robinson created such intensely layered characters that you can’t help but hate and love them at the same time.
There were times when I felt really bad for Lexi and times when I was praying I was her (because really, who wouldn’t want a Martinez, huh? ;] ) I ached for Alejandro, for what he was molded into, for what life had in store for him. I got angry at him, and I also understood him.
The different levels of emotion M. Robinson weaves into her stories are on an entirely different level. I loved that, as a reader, I felt what she wanted me to feel. Half the time, people on the streets probably thought I was insane, going from sad to happy, to hurt to hoping…seriously.
There were also extremely hot scenes (barre, anyone? ;] ) and I loved every single one. There was no scene that didn’t belong, no chapter that was irrelevant. The way every part of the story tied together was shocking but absolutely brilliant.
Their love story is complex, with conflicts facing them at every turn.
“That’s what’s fucked up about us, Lexi. I’ve made you crave every side of me. You love the heartless El Diablo as much as you love your precious Alejandro.”
You will love every high and low Martinez and Lexi will take you. You will love him as much as hate him. You will want to shoot him, and at the same time hug him. But no matter what, you will root for them, because their connection, their fate was too strong to deny.
“I don’t care where we will go, or what we will do. You are my beginning and my end.”
This was the first book I read from M and she has me hooked! I wanted to hate Martinez with everything I had but it was impossible because I ended up loving him! It’s one of those love to hate and hate to love relationships! This book had me crying, laughing, hating and loving every word I read! This is definitely worth your time to read!
Holy F*ck! This is so F*cking good. M. Robinson makes you fall in love with the devil himself. Loved this from beginning to end and I highly recommend it!!
M. Robinson – with each book you are sneaking into my heart as one of my favorite authors. You have given my some dirty, some beauty in love, some serious angst, some heart wrenching words and now…EL DIABLO…Alejandro Martinez is just, I can’t find the words…
I was hooked from the first few pages. This man was truly the devil. He was essentially doomed from the beginning. He wouldn’t have a chance to change his fate. The son of a notorious Columbian mobster his life was mapped out for him. Often times while reading I was cringing that a young boy/man would be subjected to the violence and cruelty he was, but it was the foundation that would make him El Diablo.
This book begins with Alejandro as a boy and spans his lifetime. And through out his life he experiences unbelievable loss which will forever disable his ability to truly love and trust. In walks Lexi…
His need to protect her from the moment he met her made me understand that she would be the one person to change his ways…or so I thought. The angst and back and forth of their relationship made me scream at my kindle – many many times – too many to count. Just as I thought “she’s gotten through to him”, he would pull back and be an absolute asshole.
Lexi deserved so much more than what he was giving her but her pull to him was also so strong. She didn’t grow up with the best life but was determined to be the best she could. She was a fierce and such a strong presence in this book. One of the few people who challenged Martinez, which made me #TeamLexi from the moment we met her!
Every Devil needs and Angel. And she was mine.
The twists and turn in this book had me going every way. Just went I thought I had figured it out, BAM…nope you don’t. But that’s what makes a great book to me!
This is surely the darkest book by M. Robinson but it may also be her best one yet. And from someone who’s not a huge “dark romance” fan, I think that says a lot.
M. Robinson has written a book that never strayed from the true path of El Diablo!
Wonderful book. Couldn’t put it down. So many twists and turns. Loved the ending – loved it!
What a great book so well written, what a twist at the end. Definite must read.
It’s been a while since I’ve read anything by this author and this book reminded me of how much I love and missed her work. I absolutely loved the characters, the storyline, the flow of the story; EVERYTHING!!! The twist and turns at the end definitely had me shocked; I never seen it coming and I loved every minute of it. You will love Martinez, even though you will think he’s making all of the wrong choices you will eventually understand why he did what he did and appreciate him more for it. Lexi’s had a hard life, you make come to think of her as weak but she’s actually far from it. This book ends with Martinez and Lexi but left me wanting Creed and Mia’s story. I can’t wait to see what happens next. If you are looking for a great mafia read, look no further this is a must read book.
