I was ruthless.
I was feared.
I had sacrificed. Myself. Her. Everything…
Living in a world where I was worth more dead than alive was a choice. I was a bad man, never claimed to be anything else. I’ve done things I’m not proud of. Seen things that can’t be unseen. I’ve caused pain that I can’t undo.
It was all my choice.
Every decision.
Every order.
…
Every decision.
Every order.
Right and wrong never mattered.
Until her.
She was under my protection, until she became my obsession.
But who was going to save her…

Was not impressed with the story like or the characters
I’m Not a fan of Máfia books.
So much happens in this book. I seriously didn’t know how it was going to end. I switched between loving and hating El Diablo so many times I lost track. The author leaves a lot of mystery and open questions surrounding him and it kept me intrigued throughout the book. He does a lot of messed up things that made me hate him, but then, would do things that would pull on my heart strings, so it was a messy roller coaster throughout. In the end all is explained 🙂
The book is slow going since it follows both characters through their childhoods, their trials, and finally into adult hoods and what demons they live with.
Slight spoiler alert**
Slightly upset that nothing was said about him finding her when she was younger and lost in the street? He came across her and passed her to his man and said find her parents and told her hes the scary things in the dark (something close to that) and it also hinted Thatcher mom hadn’t left the house since the day she had lost Lexi, it didnt go into major details other than that. but later in his office when she shoots him, its he knew her cause he knew her mom and was always watching over her, etc.
I was seriously freaked that it was going to come out he was her dad and I was going to throw the book. I draw a hard line at incest, so would not have continued and would have been disgusted wi tnn how well the book was doing and being so invested in it just for it to come to that. BUT alas, my fears were unfounded thank goodness !!! You will have to read to find out who her father is, and what roll El Diablo plays in Lexi’s life 🙂
Is he screwing his daughter? Why would he shoot the guy who allegedly caused the MVA deaths of his sister and brothet-in-law in front of his niece knowing his sister hated that side of the family business. I got to a point when I stopped reading…,
I enjoy books with a twist, giving a different version of reality
Awesome read. Spectacular author
This book was so good I couldnt put it down. The main characters, their relations, their co-relations was twisted and real. Love it!!!! Great book!!! Should be a movie…
Sooo boring, I couldn’t get beyond the 2nd chapter, I kept asking why am I reading this. Finally scrolled to the end and skipped at least 2/3rds the book
Great story loved the charterers.
Hard to read at first and get into for me, but once into it, it really was fabulous book. My only criticism is the author didn’t give you dates in years and times.
Excellent read, great story and characters. Only a handful of spelling/grammar errors, but not enough to take away from the story. I really enjoyed this book.
Loved it!!! Would make for a great movie or mini series!
El Diablo is the first book of M. Robinson that I have read and it won’t be my last. I don’t like most mafia books but this one was amazing. I couldn’t put the book down. Loved the characters and the plot. This is a really well written book and I highly recommend it.
The characters draw you in and you feel what they are going through with every twist and turn, their heartbreaks and joy.
This starts us of learning how El Diablo came about. We also see some of the back story as to why Alejandro Eduardo Martinez gets called El Diablo and also some of the back some of Briggs and Austin’s story from Alejandro view.
You watch Alejandro loses the love of his life and become the hardened mob boss. There are a lot of twist and turns and you never know what is going to happen next.
You learn about Lexi’s childhood and the pain that she went through and until she met Alejandro she had never felt such a draw and chemistry with someone before.
In true M Robinson form there are so many twist that have you wondering what is going to happen after but there is the HEA. Although this is a standalone it does have some of the characters from The Good Ol’ Boys and helps with the background to some of the story.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
Welcome to the world of Alejandro Martinez. He’s ruthless and feared. He’s sacrificed his own life to be what his father had a son for. He’s chosen to live in a world where he is worth more dead than alive. He’s done and seen things that are most people’s nightmares. Every order. Ever decision. All things were his choices. He regrets nothing weather it’s right or wrong. Until…..Lexi. She is his fate but destiny might just destroy them.
Oh my goodness. This is one of those times when you wish there was a rating button higher than five stars. I’m not really sure that there would be enough stars for this book. It pulls you in from the first moment you meet Alejandro as a fifteen year old boy. Or maybe I should say man. He’s never been allowed a childhood that most children know. His father is the most revered and feared crime boss in the world. Alejandro was born to take over that business. I loved how El Diablo followed him through his teen years to adulthood and the many many events that have turned him into the devil himself. He’s the character you love to hate. He’s not a good man. He could have been but he had no choice in the matter. Broken into three parts this book is a journey to Lexi who you will meets as a small girl. I loved the fact that we glimpsed so much of everyone’s lives and what made them who they were. I honestly in my heart feel like Lexi was born to save Alejandro. If that’s even possible. I’m terrified of saying something to give this book away. It would shatter my heart to know I ruined this book for anyone.
I have a hard time picking favorites. I have a lot of favorite books but to say one is my top favorite of a year is huge for me. It’s to hard to pick but El Diablo has blown me away. It’s left me feeling things I totally didn’t expect to feel. I make no secret of the fact that I love to red dark books. Books that mess with your mind so hard you have to wonder what your reading. M Robinson has blown me away with El Diablo. Fantastic, amazing, epic job M Robinson. I can not wait for Creed!! Do not miss in my opinion the best book of 2016.
Holy F*ck! This is so F*cking good. M. Robinson makes you fall in love with the devil himself. Loved this from beginning to end and I highly recommend it!!
Review by Jeanette
From the very start this book had me on edge! I just knew something was going to happen but what unfolded was nothing to what I was expecting! So from that moment on I knew this book was going to drive me crazy! Every day till I was able to pick up where I left off I battled with myself of what was happening, what was going to happen, who was who! It literally drove me crazy!
But isn’t this what books are supposed to do? This just proves what a great escape M Robinson books are! Full of emotions, mix with drama and so much angus!
Antonio Martinez is one empty, heartless bastard. Man did this man drive me crazy! I so badly wanted to kick his ass! How can someone hurt someone so much!!! Lexi in the other hand broke me heart! I kind of admired her though. No matter what pain or emptiness she endured, she didn’t let anything stop her, nothing let her down. She was a feisty little thing. Never held back and kept going after what she truly wanted no matter the cost or pain she encountered. But these two together were so perfect for each other, man did they go through a lot. My heart felt for her where I just wanted to murder him!
Truly M Robinson books are amazing. She gives one great story to truly escape. They are filled with so much emotions, crazy roller coaster drama that will leave you on your edge till the end! Truly one great book.
Hard core, but I loved it. I highly recommend it.
This was really a rollercoaster ride! My emotions were all over the place. I loved and hated Alejandro throughout the book. We met him earlier in the Good Old Boys’ series. I had tears in my eyes and at times just wanted to throw my kindle of how the author was making me feel! Even though you know the devil is inside, you can’t help but feel how he turned out that way. Loved Lexi’s character and how she faced everything.
I couldn’t put the book down, I just wanted to read more. The fact that the book is in 4 parts, didn’t bother me. It really blended well together.
Wow! I have a serious book hangover from this book. The story was incredibly written and kept me glued to the pages. I literally could not put the book down. This is the first book I have read by this author and am looking forward to reading many more.
