Beautiful, penniless American girl meets handsome, wealthy Scotsman.Sounds like the beginning of a fairy-tale romance? It’s not. This story begins with a contract. And an exchange of money.A lot of money. An angel perches nervously on one shoulder.A devil lounges smugly on my other. And even that dark little bastard is leery of what I’m doing.Maxwell Hutcheson wants the girlfriend experience. All of it. Hutcheson wants the girlfriend experience.
All of it.
And I’m going to give it to him.
I’m not supposed to enjoy being his whore.
I’m also not supposed to fall in love with him.
But I do. Both.
When our contract expires, I will walk away.
Because I have to.
But he’ll always have a piece of me.
I’ll mask my sorrow with a smile.
I’ll hide my love with indifference
… all while it’s killing me softly.
A fairy-tale romance.
It isn’t mine to have.
And this man I’ve come to love so dearly isn’t my happily ever after.
Eighty-One Nights is book one of two in a duet.
About Eighty-One Nights: While the characters from Eighty-One Nights are entirely new, their storyline is a combination of fresh material and carefully selected themes, scenes, and settings from The Beauty Series, The Sin Trilogy, Dear Agony, and Indulge. This is intentional. I chose some of my favorite elements from previous releases and interjected them into Hutch and Lou’s story. Let’s call it a “story fusion” between our old favorites and new material.

Hutch is a widower and lonely. He turns to Inamorta to find a woman for the girlfriend experience. Cait is an American woman working as a waitress to get through college. She signs a contract to provide Hutch with the girlfriend experience. Will these two be able to keep things strictly business? An enjoyable read with a cliffhanger but the next book is coming soon.
4 Stars!
Caitriona Louden is a 22 yr. old American woman who grew up in New Orleans and didn’t have an easy upbringing. She’s lived in Edinburgh for the last six years where she works as a waitress and attends college. She struggles to pay her tuition and make ends meet, so when a lucrative opportunity comes her way, she takes it.
Maxwell Hutcheson is a lonely, beautiful Scottish man who wants female companionship. Cait enters into a mutually beneficial arrangement with clear terms and expectations. She quit believing in fairy tales a long time ago, and is emotionally unavailable, but a contract with rules, and a built in expiration date. That she can do. He wants the full girlfriend experience, and she plans to give it to him.
As Cait and Max are settling into their roles together their attraction grows. He has many layers, and she finds him intense, but intriguing. He’s possessive, and the way he makes her feel draws her in and also makes her want to run. As pretending starts to feel real, he makes it easy to forget that it isn’t a real relationship. She loves the person she is with him, and he gives her incredible pleasure like nothing she’s ever known. She can’t get enough of him, and hopes she won’t get burned. The end is near as their time together will soon be over. Will she be able to walk away after unexpectedly finding love?
Max finds himself wanting to spend every moment with Cait. His personal life is extremely complicated, but he’s happy for the first time in a while. Will he say goodbye and risk heartbreak for them both, or fight for all the things he never thought he could have?
Eighty-One Nights is book one in the Beautiful Illusions Duet by Georgia Cates. It’s a passionate lovers romance with a delicious Scotsman. It’s sizzling hot, and ends on a bit of a mild cliffy. I can’t wait for book two to get the conclusion to Max and Cait’s love story!
Absolutely loved this new book and duet by Georgia Cates. Its always wonderful to read her stories.
Hutch and Lou meet under a unique circumstance and decide to further the relationship. Hutch wants the “Girlfriend Experience” with Lou. She needs the money so she agrees. How bad can 81 days of living with a man be. The chemistry is smokin hot and you’re left with a cliffhanger you didn’t see coming. Cant wait for book two.
Caitriona is trying to make it through school after father kicked her out. Rachel, her friend, already works for Inamorata and offers to talk to her boss about a job. It’s a lot of money and she could get degree without debt. Maxwell lost his wife in a freak accident but he’s hiding things to protect her family. His friend recommends Inamorata for him. Will Cait get job at Inamorata ? Will Maxwell find what he’s looking for at Inamorata?
1 Contract…2 People…81 Days…81 Nights…Too many secrets to count…
That’s the situation that Maxwell (Hutch) Hutcheson and Caitriona (Lou) Louden find themselves in when Hutch’s loneliness becomes too overwhelming to bear and Lou finds herself in dire straits financially and makes the only decision she feels she can.
Even though Hutch and Lou meet under unusual circumstances and venture into a ‘Girlfriend Arrangement,’ their connection is instantaneous and their mutual attraction makes their exclusive agreement for the summer a little less awkward and hopeful something that they can both enjoy despite their varying reasons for becoming a member of the exclusive dating service, Inamorata.
Hutch’s backstory is both saddening and perplexing; his past holds so many secrets – ones that can possibly answer why he feels such a sense of loyalty and responsibility when it comes to the people in his life. And, now that he’s on his own and has to weather the maelstrom of emotions and life’s circumstances by himself, he feels incapable and he needs an outlet before his loneliness and doubts pull him under for good.
A physical connection/release is one of the main reasons that Hutch turned to Inamorata, and let me tell you, he gets what he wants and needs from Lou in that respect, but I don’t think either of them counted on the emotional link that they would feel…the pull of more than just their bodies to one another…the desire to know each other on every level. But with an expiration date to their arrangement as well as a bevy of outside interference, it’s unclear if what they’re building is something that can withstand the circumstances they find themselves in after their 81 days.
Eighty One Nights is a duet, which means part one ends with a cliffhanger, but I truly felt that Georgia Cates provided readers with a comprehensive view of the start of Max and Cait’s contract/relationship, providing the ins and outs of situations that occur and the words that are said. The undeniable connection that these two seem to have from the beginning of the story becomes something that they can build on as they experience the summer together and get to know all that there is to know about the other.
The fusion of Cates’ ‘most favorite parts’ of her previous storylines adds a unique twist to Eighty-One Nights but Hutch and Lou’s book also remains fresh due to the complexities of the characters, their back stories, and the situation that brings them together, and with what happens at the end of part one, I have no idea where Cates plans to take her characters next, but I want to find out!
4 Poison Apples
This was my first book by Georgia, looking at the blurb for this I was intrigued but a little unsure as the author stated although this was a fresh story she had used some scenes and setting from some of her other books, which I hadn’t read, so took a chance hoping that this would be ok – I am so glad I did, I really loved this story and it was a delight to read!
Maxwell Hutcheson is a widower and joins and agency where he can get ‘the girlfriend experience’ without the emotional ties, he’s looking for someone for a 3 month contract where both he and she can get something good out of their connection and then just walk away from it.
Caitriona Louden (Lou) is an American studying in Scotland, and joins the agency to earn more money. From their first meeting Max and Lou had an instant connection, in a room full of beautiful women Lou stood out to Max from the others and negotiated a very expensive 3 month contract to have her. There are lots of rules and boundaries laid down for the contract, some of which Max is hoping Lou will relax and take the companionship more sexual.
Lou was as equally attracted to Max at this meeting, he was oozing sex appeal and dominating in his brusque Scottishness, but as she gets to know him she finds a very broken man underneath his demeanor, one with many layers who is weighed down with responsibility and guilt. Everything he does is for other people, none of it for himself, except for this contract.
Except feelings start to creep in to this arrangement, this was something that neither bargained for, and the eighty-one nights contract is creeping ever closer.
A brilliant story I just got lost in, I loved the characters and the way the relationship built, there is so much more to Max than meets the eye! But this is a duet and of course there is a cliffhanger at the end, so I seriously can’t wait to read the final book in this duet.
4.5 stars
This definitely wasn’t what I was expecting-in a good way! This author always finds a way to write two people that are perfect for each other in their own unique way-and this was no different.
The story of a broke school student looking to make some cash-she’s led to a firm that offers their services to men looking for a variety of different kinds of women. Maxwell, a recent widow, is immediately intrigued with this broke college student and asks her for the complete girlfriend experience. Not thinking each will fall head over heels for each other; the two become so close that it’s clear there’s something so much more than what they both believed.
This story is a burn between the two characters and i loved every second of it. Anxiously awaiting the next
Book! – By Victoria
This is literally everything you love about Georgia Cates series wrapped up in one duet! I cannot wait for part two! That cliffhanger was something perfect (and I hate cliffhangers). Hutch and Lou’s story is just plain perfect! I cannot wait to see how it ends! EIGHTY-ONE STARS!!
The title alone had me intrigued, and the authors’s explanation about the story got me even more interested!
This is book 1 in the Beautiful Illusions duet and while the author explains that it’s a compilation of past stories, I didn’t see that. The story read as a new and separate story.
That said, this is Lou and Hutch’s story who meet and start their relationship in an unconventional manner. Their insta-attraction, insta-lust and insta-connection was hot and certainly conventionally swoonworthy.
Can they handle it for 81 nights?
Both are flawed characters with plenty of baggage their unconventional situation has an expiration date.
Can they have more?
You’ll have to read and find out.
While the story is somewhat predictable, overall it was an enjoyable read the characters were likable. The premise of a specific “expiration” date gave it a little edge that I found fun read.
Of course it ended with a cliffhanger that I’m curious to see where the story goes.
Bills….bills…and more bills!! It’s a reality that so many know all too well. For Cait – the reality of needing money while attending college is at the forefront of life. How can one person handle it all? Then the reality of her roommate’s job hits Cait with full force. Becoming an escort for wealthy men wasn’t really in the cards, but with mounting bills staring her in the face Cait decides to discover what it’s all about.
Determined to make the most of the situation, Cait accepts an assignment as a companion for a widow. The 3 month contract would allow for the full girlfriend experience with Maxwell while providing Cait with much needed funds. Maxwell and Lou (Cait) felt an instant attraction upon meeting, but both knew that nothing would become of their time together; there was an expiration date on their contract. Maxwell was determined to make the most of his time with Cait, including overcoming her strict list of objections.
What neither could imagine would be the way the couple seemed to mesh seamlessly into the others life. A melding of two souls that few find during their lifetime. Maxwell has his own secrets, and Cait manages to accept them with open arms. What would they do once their contract expired?
Eighty-One Nights if the first book in the Beautiful Illusions duet. With an unusual story idea, Georgia Cates has managed to create a world that few wouldn’t find tempting. Maxwell and Cait embark upon a journey that will have an effect on their lives in unexpected ways. Each wanting to provide the other with security, kindness, and a memory to last a lifetime. With an expiration date firmly in place on their time together, where will the couple stand once the clock strikes twelve?
4.5 Stars
Eighty-One Nights is book 1 in the Beautiful Illusions Duet, and while I assumed going in it would end with a cliffhanger I couldn’t have expected how hard I’d be begging for more at the end.
Georgia Cates announced this duet with the premise of taking her favorite parts of all her novels and bringing them together into one epic story. Having read multiple books by her I was skeptical, as she has written a wide range of stories. But I should have known she could pull it off, and she absolutely nailed it.
Hutch is a widower, hiding painful truths from his family and sacrificing his own happiness for others. So when his friend introduces him to the Inamorata lifestyle, it opens the door for him to get exactly what he needs on his own terms.
Lou has been failed repeatedly by her family, the only true love and loyalty showed to her by her best friend. And when her friend suddenly starts going on expensive shopping trips and wearing flashy clothing, she knows something is up. Rachel fills her in on her new job as an Inamorata and offers Lou an in, and while Lou is skeptical she knows it can open doors she only hoped for.
Lou & Hutch’s story is addicting and heartbreakingly beautiful. What starts as a contract turns into more than either ever imagined, and no amount of money or rules can protect them when their hearts are on the line. Secrets, half-truths, and meddling outsiders threaten to ruin everything these two have built, and I’m sitting on pins and needles waiting for the epic conclusion.
This book has all those wonderful tropes I love in Cates books. Moody AF Alpha, female protagonist that doesn’t drive you crazy, and of course how could forget… her amazing sexy scenes.
I might be a little biased because I’m complete trash for her books but, this one is in my five from her. The story progressives nicely and doesn’t seemed rushed at all. Gives you all want from erotic-romance set in Scotland. But the ending though leaves you wanting so much more! But the next book does come out next month so you don’t have to wait terribly long.
It was refreshing reading a new Georgia Cates book. This isn’t my typical read anymore but I will always pick up a book by this author and this duet is exactly what I would expect out of this author.
This was an easy read for me but was still full of angst and steaminess. I can’t wait for the second part of this duet to see how things work out.
Any book by Georgia Cates is a book you’ll always devour and crave more. Eighty-One Nights is no exception. This story is unique, scorching hot, and consuming. I devoured this story in one day and am desperate for more. It was everything you want in a story and more. The story is so extraordinary and incredibly wonderful I may need to re-read it again ASAP.
Eighty One Nights is my first Georgia Cates novel and I enjoyed it. This story held me attention from beginning to end as the author takes us on a journey as we follow these two characters who enter into a relationship based on a business transaction for “a girlfriend experience’ and ended up falling in love.
This first novel gives us all the details of how Hutch and Lou fell in love inspite of whatever contract they signed and whatever dramas they had going on. The story was sweet and steamy and you will feel the intense chemistry between these two. There was something simple and calming about this relationship that drew me in and that’s what had me rooting for these characters. This is the first book in this duet and it end in a major cliiff-hanger. I can’t wait for the second book to see how this all gets resolved. Eighty-One nights was a fantastic read and I would definitely recommend it to all lovers of contemporary romance.
Having never read this author before I didn’t really know what to expect when starting this book, but I can honestly say that her writing style is such a pleasure to read that I quickly found myself becoming all consumed by the story that was playing out before me. It’s such a fairytale kind of romance which I totally loved, Hutch is the sexy rich hero and Lou is a poor American student that has to find a way to pay her bills. She joins Inamorata a special escort/consort service that only has wealthy paying clients, here is where she strikes up a deal to spend three months with Maxwell (Hutch) Hutcherson for a large sum of money to be at his beck and call. At first she is reluctant but as she is so attracted to him, she agrees to think about having sex with him during their time together.
You could say that some of the story is either a bit predictable or just inevitable that they would both start to want more than that they had both originally agreed to at the start of the contract, and even though you already know what is coming for them your so lost in their love story that you don’t really care about anything else but trying to keep them together. In this kind of romance there’s always someone trying to spoil things for them and this book didn’t disappoint in that department either.
I am so totally in love with this story as the writing was so dam good and the characters were just so easy to connect with, and lets not forget to mention the sexy scences are off the charts hot!!! I’m so looking forward to reading the next book in this series as im desperate to know what happens next.
What starts out as a contracted “Girlfriend Experience” blossoms into so much more.
Maxwell Hutcheson recently lost his wife. He’s lonely, and holding on to so many secrets, while being held to unreasonably high expectations from the people in his life. Caitriona Louden is an American living in Scotland, trying to get an education, and waiting tables just to scrape by. Both of these people have less than ideal situations they are going through. And both of these people turn to Inamorata to try to make their lives a little better. Cait as a inamorata and Hutch as a client.
From the start these two have an undeniable attraction to one another. Cait is reluctant and unsure about the arrangement that Hutch suggests, but after getting to know him she agrees to try the girlfriend experience with him. 81 days and 81 nights. A full summer with Hutch. Can she have a relationship with him without getting her heart hurt? Once his secrets come out and they start to share more and more can they keep from falling in love? It’s just a contract. It’s just a lie. It’s just pretend. Sigh.
What I will say first is that this story is a duet, so yes this book does end with a bit of a cliffhanger. I don’t mind it because honestly we get an entire story and the first part of their relationship. Am I dying to know what happens next? Well of course, but the first part is fulfilling and such a ride, that I can say I’m satisfied so far. There is a sweet blossoming relationship. There is some angst from outside forces. There are internal struggles from both main characters. There’s a timeline on their relationship that’s just looking overhead. There’s a bit of suspense and some alpha tendencies from the hero. Just all in all this is a great read. A fantastic combo of tropes/themes from Ms. Cates past work, but Eighty-One Nights still has its own new story and characters that you won’t be able to get enough of once you start.
All in all this is a great read. I can’t wait to see how Hutch and Cait’s story will complete. How things will pan out for some of the side characters, and if anything suspenseful will happen in book two!
Georgia Cates wrote a beautiful love story that deprives of breath and stimulates all senses. Eighty-One Nights is an original tale about a feeling between the main characters that should never be born, but the heart wants what it wants. And in this case, the hearts of the characters want a soulmate who will fill the emptiness in their lives and heal them of loneliness.
Caitriona Louden (Lou) is an American girl living in Scotland and a student who barely makes ends meet. The girl’s family situation made her live in a constant sense of abandonment. Her experiences with the opposite sex also didn’t boost her self-esteem. When, through her roommate, she finds out about an agency called Inamorata, she decides to take a chance that can improve her daily situation and pay for the education she wants to get. Maxwell Hutcheson (Hutch) is a widower who suffers from loneliness and who’s overwhelmed by the secrets that are suffocating in him. However, as a man with needs he decides to try to find a companionship in an exclusive agency called Inamorata. There he meets a beautiful Lou, with whom he wants to create the whole girlfriend experience. This is how Hutch and Lou enter the three-month arrangement. Passion explodes. The boundaries are blurred. Love is born. But is their mutual feelings able to protect this couple from the obstacles thrown at their feet? Besides, the contract was clear – after eighty-one days the arrangement ends. No matter what.
I could swoon over Hutch here all day but I feel so sorry for him! His situation is so complicated that there’s no easy way out. However, I think that he should be honest with everyone, thus he would save himself a lot of stress and he’d be happy without guilt. And this sexy Scotsman deserves his happy ending. Just like Lou, who finally found a person who gives her a sense of security and cares about her. These two are a match made in heaven! Their intimacy makes you blush and leaves you breathless.
Georgia Cates wrote an unconventional story which reading brought me so much pleasure. Beautiful Illusions is a duet, so Eighty-One Nights ends with a cliffhanger that made me want to scream. I can’t wait for the next part and I’m very excited that I’ll be able to get to know the continuation of Hutch and Lou’s story.

Georgia Cates never disappoints me. She sucks me in every single time. I couldn’t put down Eighty-One Nights at all. Even when I’m working, I’m secretly reading it.
“Diamonds are beautiful. And they’re also flawed. They don’t crack but they do cut.” Cora places a finger beneath my chin, lifting it slightly, and looks directly into my eyes. “Be a diamond, Caitriona.”
Caitriona Louden is a really sweet woman, but at the same time a broken woman who is just in need of love. She kept her feelings to herself due to the past how her parents and ex have treated her.
Maxwell Hutcheseon is so swoon worthy. He’s actually a widower with a 3 months baby. He’s afraid of hurting his family and his dead wife’s family so he kept everything to himself.
When Maxwell and Caitriona met, I’m immediately drawn to them. They are so hot and sexy together. They can hardly separate from each other. Just a heads up, there are A LOT of sex scenes (I’m not complaining Lol). Just expect a cliffhanger since it is a duet. I need book 2 like now!
This story as a whole is awesome! It makes me really want to go look for my own Maxwell in the Inamorata world! lol Highly, highly recommended.
Wow Eighty-One Nights (Beautiful Illusions Duet One) really threw me for a loop!! When Cate finds out that her roommate/best friend is working for an exclusive escort service who’s making more money than she can ever hope for and she desperately needs the funds to help pay her college tuition, she decides to join the club. However she never anticipated meeting the ever so charming and dashing, Maxwell. I fell in love with him 13% into this book as he is so swoon worthy and to good to be true. They come to an agreement and due to a unique circumstance and a creative plot twist, their relationship must be kept a secret. The storyline is engaging, full of depth and so much more than I anticipated.
Eighty-One Nights truly is a heartfelt romance as both characters are so genuine and it’s hard not to love these two. And their relationship is full of steamy, dirty and naughty sexy times that had me panting for more. This book really pulled at my heart strings and I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to read Beautiful Ever After.
