Beautiful, penniless American girl meets handsome, wealthy Scotsman.Sounds like the beginning of a fairy-tale romance? It’s not. This story begins with a contract. And an exchange of money.A lot of money. An angel perches nervously on one shoulder.A devil lounges smugly on my other. And even that dark little bastard is leery of what I’m doing.Maxwell Hutcheson wants the girlfriend experience. All of it. Hutcheson wants the girlfriend experience.
All of it.
And I’m going to give it to him.
I’m not supposed to enjoy being his whore.
I’m also not supposed to fall in love with him.
But I do. Both.
When our contract expires, I will walk away.
Because I have to.
But he’ll always have a piece of me.
I’ll mask my sorrow with a smile.
I’ll hide my love with indifference
… all while it’s killing me softly.
A fairy-tale romance.
It isn’t mine to have.
And this man I’ve come to love so dearly isn’t my happily ever after.
Eighty-One Nights is book one of two in a duet.
About Eighty-One Nights: While the characters from Eighty-One Nights are entirely new, their storyline is a combination of fresh material and carefully selected themes, scenes, and settings from The Beauty Series, The Sin Trilogy, Dear Agony, and Indulge. This is intentional. I chose some of my favorite elements from previous releases and interjected them into Hutch and Lou’s story. Let’s call it a “story fusion” between our old favorites and new material.

Wrecked. There’s no other way to describe how I feel after reading this book. I am absolutely wrecked. It is such a beautifully written and passionate story; I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. As a result, I didn’t realize how close I was to the end until, well, until it just ended. In my mind, I yelled “noooooooooooo!!!!!” because I didn’t want it to end, especially not where it did! The relationship between Max and Cait (Hutch and Lou) is full-on romance, in spite of the unconventional beginning of it. The story is interesting, the characters are compelling, and the writing is such that the reader feels what the characters are feeling. Oh, and can we say super-steamy as well? An excellent read, but I sure hope the second book is released soon, because I haven’t gotten enough of Hutch and Lou yet. This review was written based on a complimentary pre-release copy.
So so good….
This book is exactly what I needed to get me out of my book funk. Hutch and Lou and great characters and will have you falling totally in love with them. Max is lonely and in desperate need for the company of a woman, something he has been missing for a long time. Cait is looking to pay for college so an arraignment between each other should give the other exactly what each needs. Only thing….. 81 days is a long time to protect the heart.
Absolutely loved this and I can not wait to get the next book. This is definitely a must read.

Absolutely loved this and I can not wait to get the next book. This is definitely a must read.
Eighty-One Nights was an amazing love story that reminded me of what I first loved about this genre so much. Lou and Hutch begin an arranged relationship but their arrangement slowly evolves into more than either of them could ever have imagined. I enjoyed watching both characters learn to open themselves up to each other and how they were able to be themselves around the other. Lou is such a beautiful and strong woman and I loved that she allowed Hutch to see her behind the walls she’d built around herself. Hutch has been dealt a crummy hand in life yet all he wants is to make sure everyone else around him is happy. I loved how both Lou and Hutch found something in the other that they each desperately needed. My emotions ranged from hopeful to angry, sad to ecstatic and everywhere in between while devouring Lou and Hutch’s story. I was left on the edge of my seat by the end of this book and am eager for Hutch and Lou’s captivating story to continue.
Caitriona Louden is a beautiful young American student living in Edinburgh, she’s lived there with her father and step-mother since her mom died when she was sixteen. Cait, has a less than loving with her dad, the man who walked away when she was born. She was left with her alcoholic mother and forced to raise herself. She doesn’t trust or give love easily.
Maxwell Hutcheson is older, devastatingly handsome and a recent widower and desperate for companionship. He and his wife had been having issues before she died and now he’s trapped in a limbo of denial and grief that he shows to friends and family, but the truth is, he wants a fresh start. Cait is a stepping stone to that end, or she’s supposed to be.
Cait is struggling to pay her college fees as her father refuses to give her any more help. She needs money and her friend Rachel shows her a way she can earn enough to cover it all by doing a little extra work over the summer break.
Inamorata, is where Cait and Max meet. It’s the first time for both of them. Lou, as Cait calls herself, isn’t sure of what to expect of the clientele, but she pleasantly surprised when Max asks her to be his… for three months.
Lou hadn’t planned to go all they way, like some of the girls. She told Max right off the bat she wasn’t offering her body to him. He was happy to just see where things went. If they were attracted to one another and they wanted to have sex, then they would, as long as that’s what Lou wanted.
From her first date with Max, or Hutch as she decided to call him, Lou knew he was a man who’d respect her wishes, despite what she did for a living. The more time the spent together, the closer them become. Cait isn’t worried though. They have a contract and her heart isn’t on the line. She can walk away at the end. Hutch knows his feelings are becoming real and he wants Loun to be his for real too.
So, what will happen at the end of Eighty-One Days. You have to read it and find out, bear in mind, though, that this is a duet so the ending isn’t really, the end. Can’t wait for the next part to see where this is going.
Eighty-One Nights is a beautifully written love story that will leave you wanting more it will leave you with all the feels you want and expect in a great read.
Caitriona Louden (Lou) is an American student living in Scotland, she moved to be with her father and his family but very quickly finds out she is going to have to fend for herself so she asks her roommate for advice and that’s when she finds herself at a club called Inamorata. This club is like no other yes there are girls for hire but each girl decides how far she is willing to go with the man who has hired her, maybe a man is lonely or maybe a man needs a companion for a function or maybe it’s all about a night of passion ……
Maxwell Hutchison (Hutch) is also introduced to Inamorata by a friend but when he is introduced to Lou he knows there is no going back he knows she is the one for him so he signs a contract to have her by his side for three months but will that be long enough for this couple ………
Companionship turns in to passion which then turns to love but secrets have a way of ruining a good thing could the secrets break or make this adorable couple guess you need to read the book to find that out. I knew this book would end on a cliffhanger but I really wasn’t prepared for the ending to Eighty One Nights I wanted to scream but the good thing is I understand part two in this duet is not too far away. I really need to know the conclusion to Hutch and Lou’s love story and I’m sure if you take a chance on this great read you will feel exactly the same.
When this author said she was releasing a book that contains all of her favorite elements from her previous books into one new story I said sign me up. First because I have loved her previous books and second because the leading man was Scottish. Hello!! I can’t help but love a man with an accent.
Lou and Hutch are two people that aren’t looking for love. Lou doesn’t believe she’s good enough to be loved. Hutch has been betrayed and has no plans to share his heart again. I fell in love with both of them.
On top of loving a Scottish man I also love a single dad. Hutch struggles with his new life as a single father on multiple levels. He never would’ve guessed just how much the woman he has paid to spend eighty-one nights with would have to teach him about his new role in life.
So far the men in Lou’s life have failed her. The biggest failure being her father. Everyone should learn the meaning of love first from their parents.
Their sexual chemistry is off the charts. I’m talking moisture control situation reading this one. What I loved most is that together they could heal each other’s wounded heart. They are a perfect match. If only Lou could believe in her worth over the lies that send her running. I’m anxiously waiting for my happy ending (no pun intended).
4.5 Stars!
Eighty-One Nights is the first book in the Beautiful Illusions Duet, a story featuring two damaged main characters who’ve suffered betrayal by loved ones, both fearful of falling in love again, so sure of being hurt. It’s told in dual POV, so we get an idea of what they’re really feeling, and a glimpse of what they wish could be. This story had me reading all night, right up until the end…or so I thought! It’s a cliffhanger, so be prepared to obsess until the second book is released.
Caitrona Brooke Louden was raised in NOLA by her single mother and moved to Edinburg six years ago, after she died when Cait was sixteen, to live with her father and stepmother. With just two semesters until she graduates, she’s informed they won’t be paying for her tuition any longer. Knowing her roommate is making serious money as a ‘companion/escort’ Cait decides she can do it too, just until she graduates. As long as that’s all she has to do, she’s never had a casual hookup.
“I’m judgmental because I’ve been betrayed. I’m suspicious because I’ve been played. I’m emotionally unavailable because I’m afraid. And I’m unapologetic about it.”
Cait is hired, using the name ‘Lou’, knowing there’s no chance of falling for a client. She’d been burned by the only man she’s ever loved and thought had loved her, too. Her first client makes her an offer she can’t refuse: being exclusive for three months, making enough money so that she can finish school and retire from this line of work. Lou can keep her heart out of the arrangement; it’s been hardened and might as well be dead.
“I have plans for my life, and they don’t include falling for a man who would pay a woman to be with him.”
Maxwell Hutcheson, at thirty-three, is a wealthy investment fund manager working for his father-in-law’s firm. His wife, Mina, died three months ago from injuries caused by a car accident, but he’s not the grieving widower everyone thinks he is. No one was aware that Mina and Maxwell had decided to divorce, their marriage was over long ago, but they hadn’t told anyone, something he wished her meddling family had known before she died.
When Maxwell’s friend tells him about an exclusive establishment where he can find a discreet companion, Maxwell decides he wants to hire someone who can offer him the ‘girlfriend experience’ for the summer. He’s been lonely for far too long but he needs to keep the relationship a secret, no one can know he’s ready to move on. Something a real girlfriend would never agree to. And the added bonus of having an expiration date on the agreement means no muss, no fuss!
“It won’t be a problem if we go into it with the same expectations and are both aware of how things will end.”
“A built-in expiration date. A daily countdown to the end. Literally.”
When these two start off ‘dating’ and getting to know each other, they begin to feel things that had been dormant and were not part of the arrangement. And when they begin to confide in each other, little tidbits that reveal past hurts, they realize they are kindred spirits. But Maxwell’s confused by his possessiveness, he knows what Lou and he have is based on a lie. What they don’t know is that there are others who are aware of some of the secrets these two have tried to keep hidden, and threaten to reveal.
“My NOLA girl is showing me who she is deep inside: a woman who is damaged, a woman who is carrying a scar that is as old as she is, a woman who longs to be loved. She’s filled with heartache and it penetrates her bone deep. I know because it deeply resembles my own pain.”
I received a free copy of this book from the author.
I’m not really sure what to say about Eighty-One Nights. For this duet, author Georgia Cates, took a mix of all her favorite parts from her previous series and meshed them together for these two books. It makes for an interesting twist on Hutch and Lou’s story.
For 81 days Lou belongs to Hutch. In those days it’s hard to that much time with a person and not fall for one another even when you’re not supposed to. There’s a force pulling them apart, however. Some that don’t wish for this union to happen. Though because Hutch doesn’t know what he’s up against so he can’t help Lou.
The second book in this duet will have a lot of answers to fill in for these characters. Between Hutch and Lou they have to get to the bottom of what’s going on and who’s behind the trouble they’re having.
Should be quite an interesting roller coaster! Looking forward to seeing those that deserve it get their due.
Another Georgia Cates that I loved more than I thought possible. I wasn’t at all expecting to fall as hard and fast for Hutch and Lou as I did (nor them for each other I suspect) and I was really sad when there were no more pages and I was reminded that it is only the first half of a duet!
This is one of those set-ups that can feel a little unusual, but it’s treated with the utmost respect and care. These feel like real people, with real problems and real feelings. As generally happens, things get complicated, and we are left wondering how they will untangle this web when it ends!
Can’t wait for the second half!
I was a tad hesitant on how much I would enjoy this one. I love that Georgia was upfront with how she came about this idea but I still have some small reservations that it would be pulled off well. And boy was I wrong.
Do not go into this with any pretenses on what you have read before. I can assure you, whatever you are thinking, it’s not what happens in this book.
Max (Hutch) is a widow but his heart is not where one would think it is. Max is struggling to move forward in his life, but in ways no one can imagine. He holds a lot of secrets from everyone in his life and he has his reasons. But those secrets are also preventing him from being able to be himself in life.
Cait (Lou) is struggling to find a way for her last upcoming year in college. She’s found herself in a bit a pinch with money until her best friend lets her on in a little secret. A secret that will forever change Cait’s life – for better or worse.
Max and Cait meet in one of the most unusual ways but nothing about their lives is normal. So it’s only fitting that they meet this way. Their “girlfriend arrangement” meets both their needs and they follow the expectations set for one another. While Cait has her reservations on certain things, they both come to agreement that they both can agree upon.
I have to say – this story was so much more than I had expected. And I loved every for it. I love the interactions, the secondary characters, the nuances they learn about one another and the agreement to always say what they are thinking. And the sex in this book – WOW!! There was a lot more than I had anticipated but it definitely did not hurt the overall plot of this story. If anything, it only help serve the purpose and the deepening of the relations between Max and Cait.
Since this is a duet, I knew to expect a cliffy. While it’s definitely one I saw coming, I am still anxious to see what happens next. There are still some secrets that have not been spilt and some underlying problems that I am anxious to see play out.
Georgia Cates has definitely delivered on he promise of giving us a “story infusion” by blending the old with the new and giving us a story that we soon won’t forget.
My Review 5 Caitriona Louden “Lou” is an American living in Scotland while going to University. Her roommate tells her about Inamorata a company she works for and makes a lot of money. Her mother is gone, her father recently cut her off financially, if she does this she will be debt free! Caitriona deciceds to give it a try.
Maxwell Hutcheson “Hutch” is a recent widower. His friend took him to Inamorata for a good time. Once he meets “Lou” he has to have the Girlfriend experience for 81 nights!
I loved this book! I couldn’t wait for it to release and when it did I devoured it! The story line flowed well. Hutch and Lous attraction to each other seemed so realistic to me! Once again another superb book from Georgia Cates! Also this book is not predictable like most escort books! So many twists and turns! Fall in love with Hutch and Lou! This book does have a cliffhanger but part two of the duet will be out in May! 5 Read! http://www.dirtymomsbookclub.com
4 stars for – Eighty-One Nights – book one in the Beautiful Illusions duet by Georgia Cates. As with almost all duets this book ends in a cliffhanger that leaves you yearning for more of Hutch and Lou. The author states she took beloved elements from some of her other series and intentionally weaved them into this duet. Honestly, except for a couple cameos of previous characters, this seems pretty original to me. With Georgia’s signature style of romance and sexy seduction this is one book you won’t want to miss.
Maxwell Hutcheson is in a really bad situation so a friend brings him to a party to meet the perfect girl. A girl that can give him everything he needs, wherever he needs it but it may just cost him everything when all is said and done.
Lou is a broke American college student living in Scotland with one semester left to go before she’s done with her degree. Having no money and no idea how to pay her way through school she decides to work with her roommate at Inamorata as a companion. She never thought she’d meet a man like Maxwell Hutcheson her very first night but as they say…everything happens for a reason.
Wow this isn’t what I expected. Lou and Hutch were just unbelievable. Lou has no one but her best friend. The struggles she endured were heartbreaking and that just made her even stronger. Hutch was a widow but don’t think he was hurting. It’s a twist with surprises that I didn’t expect. The way he met Lou was different and it took a while but their arrangement turned into more. But there were obstacles and people that made me want to throw my kindle at the wall because of the way Hutch was being manipulated by his dead wife family. There’s a particular sister in law that needs to disappear. But Lou world is shattered and I don’t know how Hutch will fix everything. I need Book 2!!!!!!
Eighty-One Nights Book 1 Beautiful Illusions Duet by Georgia Cates
I went into this book totally blinded. It was very very intriguing and really really good! It kept my interest throughout. Love the characters and their steamy hot romance! Didn’t it to end. It is told in duel points of view. Unfortunately, it ends in a cliffhanger. I can not wait for the next book to come out!
“This is exactly what I needed in my life. She’s everything that I wanted.”
“Truth hurts. But it always wins.”
Eighty-One Nights is book 1 in the Beautiful Illusions Duet by Georgia Cates. This story is PHENOMENAL!!! I was captivated from the beginning. Georgia always has a way crafting her stories and characters so perfectly!!!
Cait and Maxwell have an intense instant chemistry, their sexual tension was scorching!! I ADORED these two so much!
What will happen to Cait and Max when the contact ends? This book ends on a HUGE cliffy, and I sooooo need to know what will happen between these two characters! I need book 2 now!!
This book is absolutely phenomenal, and wonderfully written!!
I know that this book wasn’t for everyone as I was reading the reviews on it, but it definitely did reach my 5 star review because this story was beautiful. It started out with them having a contract, Max hired Cait to be his pretend girlfriend because he wanted the whole girlfriend experience, but because of certain circumstances Max didn’t want to expose Cait to his family or friends, he was keeping her a secret….his secret.
At first Cait didn’t know how to feel about his demands, but she caved in pretty quickly and from that point on, their fake relationship seemed to have blossomed pretty quickly.
I honestly did feel a connection between the characters. They were strong willed and they were very loving towards each other even though neither one wanted to face the facts that what they had was for a very temporary time so they were taking advantage of the time they did have together.
I loved Cait and Max, they were a good match. They connected well and the story just flowed nicely.
I have to admit that I was completely enthralled, I was mesmerized with this love story.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the 2nd part of this book to find out what’s going to happen with Max and Cait.
Eighty-One Nights is the first book I read by Georgia Cates. I liked the writing very much. At first the story seemed like so many others I’ve read but there were circumstances and twists that made it unique on its own merits.
The characters were likeable. Both Cait and Max had a lot to overcome so far in their lives and they both have the scars to prove it. Both of them seemed quite hesitant and unsure of themselves in this story. The books ends in a cliffhanger so there’s still room for development and redemption in the second part of this duet.
I definitely will read the next book, I’m curious if/how Max can step up and fight.
I loved this story, Hutch and Cait have great chemistry. This hot and sexy story has you wanting more and more. I could not put it down the minute I started it, but holy cliffhanger. This is truly a must read. Can’t wait for the next book!!!
Caitriona (Lou) has been waiting tables ever since her father bailed out to pay for her college education. She’s trying to make ends meet but everything changes when her best friend/roommate introduces her to an escort service — Inamorata. The thought of doing it fills Cait with apprehension at first but after giving it some thought she decided to do it.
Maxwell (Hutch) a rich widow who prefers to have a pretend girlfriend because his life is full of secrets and falling in love with someone is not an option for him. So, the arrangement set by Inamorata is perfect for something he needs and wants.
Maxwell and Cait’s relationship hit it off after spending more time together. They became comfortable with each other’s company and body that it felt almost real. What happens now when their “love affair” is over? Can they walk away without hurting each other?
Eighty-One Nights is such an enjoyable fusion of scenes and setting from the author’s previous book and it was done beautifully if may say so. Maxwell and Cait’s story is such an endearing and easy to fall in love too. It’s an epic story in the making after that cliffy-ending. I’m anxiously waiting for its conclusion in days to come. Highly recommended!
